Phyllis Pearson, 71, of Moline died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Moline.

Arrangements are pending at Esterdahl Mortuary, Moline.

Wanda Weekly
Wanda L. Weekly, 90, of Moline died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Wanda was born May 9, 1914, in Lewis County, Mo., the daughter of Edward Morris and Dora Belle Hamilton Snyder. She married James Frame Horsman in Missouri. She later married Everett W. Weekly on Oct. 3, 1959, in Moline. He preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 1980.

Wanda was a nurse's aide on the pediatric floor at the former Moline Public Hospital.

Wanda enjoyed fishing, playing cards and being with her family and friends.

Survivors include her sons (and spouse), James Horsman, Moline, and John (Sue) Horsman, Andalusia; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jim Richardson, Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband; infant daughter, Mary Ruth Horsman; and a son, Edward Horsman.

Barbara Livingston
Barbara Livingston, 62, of East Moline died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Eileen Sanders
Funeral services for Eileen F. Sanders, 90, of East Moline, will be 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery , Urbana, Ill. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Rev. John J. Dunne Memorial Endowment Fund.

Mrs. Sanders died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Aspenwood Health Care Center, Silvis, surrounded by her family.

Eileen Withers was born Nov. 19, 1913, in Blue Island, Ill., the daughter of James and Mayme Withers. She married Raymond E. Sanders, Oct. 20, 1941. in St. Louis, Mo. He died Dec. 27, 1985.

She had worked for Montgomery Ward as a bookkeeper for 20 years, retiring in 1971. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching baseball on TV. She enjoyed all the friends she had made while living at Ridgewood Tower, East Moline. But, most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bill Bales, Austin, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, James and Joanne Sanders, East Moline; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Muriel Withers, Urbana. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, James Withers.

Kay DeDobbelaere
Kay H. DeDobbelaere, 81, of Reynolds, died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at her daughter's home in Reynolds.

Arrangements are pending at Family Funeral Services, Reynolds.

Wayne Feaster
Wayne H. Feaster, 90, of Hillsdale, departed this life Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at his home.

There will be a celebration of his life gathering from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron, for family and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday at Hillsdale United Methodist Church with burial at Bethesda cemetery . Memorials may be made to the Hillsdale United Methodist Church or the Pathway Hospice of VNHA, Rock Island.

Wayne was born on March 15, 1914, in Hillsdale, the son of William B. and Jennie E. Wreath Feaster. He was the youngest of 10 children who preceded him in death. He was born and lived on the family centennial homestead for 90 years.

Wayne farmed the homestead for over 70 years along with raising and milking registered Grade-A Holstein cattle for over 40 years. He was united in marriage to Ruby M. Wainwright on March 29, 1938, in Hannibal, Mo.

Wayne devoted himself to church, community, home and family. He loved to fish, golf and bird watch. He was an avid White Sox and Illini sports fan. Wayne's greatest passion was spending time with family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an extraordinary man who touched many lives.

Wayne was a member of several organizations and held many committee positions. He aided in organizing the first Rock Island County Fair and served as secretary for several years. He was also a member of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau and served as secretary for eight years. For six years, Wayne was the secretary of Northern Illinois Breeding Co-op and a Boy Scout cub master for five years. He was also a member of the Rock Island County Historical Society and served on the board of directors, in addition to being a member of the Blackhawk Genealogical Society.

As a member of the Hillsdale United Methodist Church, Wayne was a Sunday school superintendent and teacher and held many different offices on the church board. He was one of the founders of the First United Methodist Men as well as becoming their first president. He was a 4-H leader for several years in addition to becoming one of the founders of Hillsdale High-Riders 4-H Club and Buccaneers 4-H Horse Club. Along with daughter, Becky, bred and showed American Saddlebred horses. With daughter, Lynne, he raised and showed dairy cattle for 4-H.

Those left to honor Wayne's memory include his wife, Ruby, his daughters (and spouses), Lynne (Ken) Malone and Becky (Larry) Hayden, all of Hillsdale; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Norman Merrill
Norman L. Merrill, 49, of Colona died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at his home.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Services, Colona. Burial is in Dayton cemetery , Colona. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Family Funeral Services, Colona. Memorials may be made to Stormie Sunshine Barns Education Fund and may be sent or delivered to any Blackhawk State Bank location.

He was born Sept. 10. 1954, in Moline, the son of Joseph E. and Irene DeVore Merrill. He married Cathi Stoddard April 13, 1974, in Coatsburg, Ill.

He was a mechanic currently employed at Watermans Transmission Service in Carbon Cliff for the past 11 years. Prior to that, he worked at Horns Auto Salvage, Colona. He also was a union electrician and worked at the former Rock Island Lines Railroad.

He enjoyed bow hunting and Harley Davidsons. He collected Mustang memorabilia.

Survivors include his life companion, Rhonda Grogg, Colona; sons, Michael and Bo Guy Merrill, Colona; daughters, Maria (Jeremy) Merrill, Davenport, and Stormie Sunshine Barns, Colona; granddaughters, Paige Stohl and Destiny Cribbs; grandson, Derek Cribbs; sister, Joan (Jerry) Kinkead, East Moline; brothers, Jack (Barb) Merrill, Carbon Cliff, James (Lois) Merrill, Orion, Bill (Rita) Merrill, Cleveland, and Bob (Barb) Merrill, Colona; aunt, Gilberta Ashdown, Sarasota, Fla.; uncle, Gilbert Merrill, Waco, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phillip; and brother, Joseph.

Darrell `Red' Robinson
Darrell J. 'Red' Robinson, 79, of Viola, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Heartland Health Care Center, Galesburg, following 16 courageous months battling lymphoma.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church, New Windsor. Burial is in Viola cemetery . Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. today at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Viola Fire Department Building Fund or to donor's choice.

He was born March 20, 1925, in Viola, son of Seyler T. and Florence L. Kasenberg Robinson. He married Ila M. Nelson Feb. 21, 1954, at Calvary Lutheran Church, New Windsor.

He worked for Dale Brown's Texaco Station in Viola from 1951 until he became manager of Red's Texaco from 1963 to 1979. He worked at Keister's Tire in Monmouth from 1980 to 1995. In his retirement years, he enjoyed mowing for the village of Viola.

Red was an Army World War II veteran, serving from 1943 to 1946 as a sergeant with the 14th Armor 48th Tank Division, B Company.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, New Windsor, and served on the property committee for several years. He was a former member of the Viola Fire Department, a member of Viola American Legion Post 229 and Mercer County VFW Post 1571, Aledo. Red had served on the Viola Home Telephone Co. board since 1978.

Survivors (and spouses) are his wife; daughter, Lori (David) Olson, New Windsor; sons, Daniel (Kris) Robinson, Bettendorf, and David (Doreen) Robinson, Portsmouth, Va.; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; two great-grandsons; four stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Anderson, Viola; brothers, Vern Robinson, Viola, and Marion Robinson, Milan. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ethel (Everett) Bloomfield; and brothers, Merle and Robert 'Bob' Robinson.

Donna Rohr
Donna Mae Rohr, 69, of Alexis died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis, with the Rev. David Stroup of the Colonial Baptist Church, Galesburg, officiating. Burial will be in Alexis cemetery . Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Sunday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis, where her family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial fund has been established to be designated later.

She was born May 30, 1935, in Monmouth, the daughter of Ranald and Helen Madge Brown Armstrong. At the age of 4, her mother died and she was raised by her stepmother, Mary Frances Law Armstrong.

She was reared and educated in Alexis and graduated from Alexis High School in 1953.

Donna married Donald Keith Rohr Sept. 7, 1956, in Alexis. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1986. She later married Edgar Mardyne Rohr. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1988.

She first worked at J.C. Penney in Galesburg and currently worked in the dietary department at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a member of the James Harvey Scott American Legion Auxiliary in Alexis and the Moose Club of Galesburg.

Survivors (and spouses) are her daughter, Virginia (Marty) Parer, Rock Island; son, Randy (Diana) Rohr, Greenwood, Calif; stepmother, Mary Armstrong, Galesburg; granddaughter, Ashley Parer, and grandson, Andy Parer, both of Rock Island; sisters, Joan (Dean) Staley, North Henderson, and Marilyn (Tony) Mitchell, Chicago; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and twin sister, Virginia Fae Armstrong.

Richard Tucker
Richard B. 'Dick' Tucker, 73, of Galva, and a resident of Toulon Health Care Center for the past 5 1/2 years, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Kewanee Hospital.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Burial will be in Galva cemetery , where military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of the donor's choice.

He was born April 3, 1931, in Peoria, the son of Ernest and Virtue Stites Tucker. He married Joann Dickerson Jan. 9, 1955, in Great Falls, Mont. She survives.

He had attended Galva schools. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict from 1951-1955. He received the Korean Service Medical with five Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He was a member of the Flemish-American Club in Kewanee, Galesburg VFW Post 2257, Hagberg-Hamlin American Legion Post 45, Galva. He had retired after 30 years at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. After his retirement, he operated Tucker's Shoe Repair in Galva. He enjoyed remodeling his home, fishing, golfing and bowling. He had also coached Little League baseball. He also loved to dance and play pool.

Survivors (and spouses) are a son, Ray (Teresa) Tucker, Oneida, Ill.; a daughter, Linda Tucker, California; three grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy and Jennifer; a sister, Norma Stroud, Woodhull; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a half-brother; and a sister.

Dorothy Cawiezell
Dorothy Cawiezell, 86, of Davenport, died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.

Leo Entler
Leo R. Entler, 81, Davenport, died June 3, 2004, at Davenport Lutheran Home.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Weerts, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today.

He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Davenport to Leo and Paula Entler. He married Mildred Iverson. She died in 1984.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Brad Lee and Cindy Entler, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Marie Waters, all of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Gary Lee Entler in 2000, and a brother Glen.

John `Jack' McCluskey
John W. 'Jack' McCluskey, 80, of Davenport died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, where further arrangements are pending.

Mark McKown
Mark O. McKown, 52, of Yates City, Ill., formerly of Eldridge, died June 1, 2004, at Scott County Park.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Runge, Davenport. Visitation is 12:30 p.m. to services. Cremation rites will follow.

He was born Jan. 15, 1952, to Gladys and Delbert McKown. He married Paula Adams in 1977.

Surviving are his children, Kyle, Yates City, Katrina, Davenport, Kelry, Newark, Ohio, and Kassandra Powell, San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren; father, Lake View, Iowa; brother, Marv, Hutchinson, Kan.; sisters, Marcia Hummel, Lake View, Iowa, Mardelle Wulf, Durant, Marla Kay Rowlett, Texas.

Robert Meyer
Robert L. Meyer, 48, Houston, Texas, formerly of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at his home.

A sharing of his life in memory will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at McGinnis-Chambers, Bettendorf, with visitation 10 a.m. to services. Private graveside services will be in Oakland cemetery , Denison, Iowa.

He was born Aug. 29, 1955, to Glenn and Helen Meyer.

Surviving are his mother, Bettendorf; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Leslie Lauritsen, niece, Emily Lauritsen, all of Bettendorf; nephew, Michael Lauritsen, Eau Claire, Wis.; three aunts; and an uncle.

Ronald Quick
Services for Ronald A. Quick, 67, Davenport, are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Runge, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park cemetery . Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. today.

He died June 2, 2004, at Genesis East, Davenport.

He was born April 3, 1937. He married Ruth Grabbe in 1956.

Surviving are wife; children (and spouses), Georgia (Ron) Blevins, Davenport, Lorraina (Paul) Scholten, Franklin, Tenn., Dallas (Lori) Quick, Medford, Ore., and Benjamin (Vonna) Quick, Moline; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Bowen, Moline; sister-in-law, Evelyn Quick, Davenport.
