Margaret Ruud
Margaret P. Ruud, 93, of Bettendorf died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at her home.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity of your choice.

Margaret was born July 22, 1910, in Moline, the daughter of Frederick and Viola Rathburn Pusey. She married Clarence Ruud July 22, 1932, in Oquawka. He preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1980.

Margaret enjoyed traveling and studying history and genealogy. She also was active in the Moline Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors (and spouses) include her daughter, Vianne 'Vi' (Harry) Bowman, Brighton, Mich.; son, Larry (Donna) Ruud, Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy.

Leonard Sprosty
Services for Leonard W. Sprosty, 85, Davenport, are 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic, Davenport. Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport, with 4 p.m. prayer service.

Burial is noon Tuesday in St. Wenceslaus cemetery , Eastman, Wis., with visitation 11 a.m. to services.

He died June 2, 2004, at Crest Health Center, Davenport.

He was born March 21, 1919. He married Mae Fisher in 1943.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Robert and Donald, both Bettendorf, Douglas, Davenport; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and three brothers.

Fred Wooten Jr.
Fred Wooten Jr., 51, of Davenport, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Arrangements are pending at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Lillian Nehar
Lillian M. Nehar, 80, formerly of Rock Island, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Arrangements are pending at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Eunice Reehl
Eunice D. Reehl, 82, of Moline, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline.

William Panouses
Services for William C. 'Bill' Panouses, 82, of East Moline, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery , Moline.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a Trisagion prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.

Mr. Panouses died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Mr. Panouses was born May 18, 1922, in East Moline, son of Christ and Dafne Gust Panouses. He married Helen Lygouriatis June 29, 1949, in the Bahamas.

He had served in the Illinois Militia. He retired June 1, 1983, from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, after 30 years of service. He had been a very active member at Assumption, where he had served in many capacities. He was a member of AHEPA and had been a Mason. He loved his family very much.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Panouses, East Moline; daughter and son-in-law, Daphne and Guadalupe Olvera Jr., Silvis; granddaughters, Deana, Angela, Stacy and Victoria Olvera; great-granddaughters, Alejandra Elena and Marie Guadalupe Olvera; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Betty Panouses, Indialantic, Fla., Pete and Kathy Panouses, East Moline; brother-in-law, Chris Pikios, Machesny Park, Ill.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Pikios.

George Anderson
Services for George T. Anderson, 94, a resident of Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, formerly of Sebastian, Fla., will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley. Burial will be in Beulah cemetery , Rural Township.

Visitation is 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Life and Family Coalition, Bettendorf. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Anderson died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

George was born April 12, 1910, in Decatur, Ill., son of Cyrus and Lulu Hughes Anderson. He married Mildred B. Fitzgerald Aug. 13, 1932, in Decatur.

Mr. Anderson was a toolmaker and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 25 years. He retired in 1972.

George was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. He loved all sports and especially the Chicago Cubs. In earlier years, he coached baseball and basketball.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Mildred; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Allen DePorter, Milan; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis, granddaughter, grandson, grandson-in-law, brother and sister.

Wayne Northcutt
Orrin Wayne Northcutt, 83, of Paradise Manor, Milan, died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery , Rock Island, where military rites will be accorded by Milan American Legion Post 569, of which he was a member. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Wayne was born May 20, 1921, in Lynnville, Iowa, son of Walter and Evelyn Jay Northcutt. He married Evelyn Bealer March 8, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. She preceded him in death Jan. 9, 1995.

He was a paratrooper and a cook in the Army during World War II. Following the war, Wayne was a mechanic with Lohse Automotive for 45 years.

Wayne loved fishing, playing pool and going to breakfast at the Scamper Inn in Milan. He was the quiet person who was the best caregiver ever.

Wayne is survived by daughters (and spouses), Loveona (James) Stewart, Coal Valley, Valerie Rhodes and Jacqueline Evans, both of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; son (and spouse), Kelly (Beth) Northcutt, Fremont, Calif.; grandchildren, Tracey Unverzagt, Shanna Seigel, Craig Rhodes, Michelle Hanson, Jennifer Benway and Alex and Ariel Schwatella; great-grandchildren, Christine and James Jacobs, Crystal and Austin Benway, Samuel Seigel, Jonathon Unverzagt and Michael and Mathew Hanson; great-great-grandchildren, Devan Jacobs and Adrian McBride; sister, Martha Ferguson, Newton, Iowa; and lifetime friends, Mildred and Harold Newton, Rock Island, and Doris Abbott, Indianapolis, Ind. In addition to his wife, Wayne was preceded in death by brothers Walter, Jay, Adrian, Leland, Gerald and Carlton Northcutt.

Lowell Egert
Lowell E. Egert, 80, of Prophetstown, formerly of Tampico, died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico. Burial is in Tampico Memorial cemetery . Visitaiton is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born March 6, 1924, in Prophetstown, to Ransom and Nora McCombs Egert. He married Mabel Forward Dec. 25, 1944.

He farmed in the Tampico area and was a rural mail carrier for 30 years. He was a member of Erie Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife; daughters, Diana Catron, Carthage, Mo., Lana Musche, Tampico; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Audrey Murray, Grass Valley, Calif.; several nieces and nephews.

Viola Hansen
Viola M. Hansen, 91, of Prophetstown, died Monday, May 31, 2004, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Prophetstown. Burial will be in Tampico Memorial cemetery . Visitation will be 10 a.m. to time of services Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prophets Riverview Center or the United Methodist Church. Gibson and Sons Funeral Home, Prophetstown, is handling the arrangements.

Viola was born June 11, 1912, in Landis Valley, Pa., daughter of Stephen and Ida Susan Landis Weidel. She grew up in rural Sterling, graduating from Sterling Public High School in 1930. She married Harold Edward Hansen Feb. 22, 1933, in Sterling. He died Sept. 25, 1969.

The couple farmed for 36 years in the Hooppole and Prophetstown areas, moving to Prophetstown in 1969.

Following Harold's death, she worked as a nurse's aide at Prophets Riverview Center for six years. Thereafter, she worked at the center as a volunteer assisting with mending, game day and bringing good cheer to the residents. Other volunteer work included delivering Meals-on-Wheels, working at the former White Cloud Art Gallery, and the Red Cross Bloodmobile. Most recently, she served as a volunteer at Prophetstwon Grade School.

She enjoyed baking and over the years furnished many pies, cakes and cookies for church events. Homemade cinnamon rolls and chocolate fudge were the favorites among her family. Never a person to be idle, she liked to ride her bike and faithfully attended water aerobics three times a week until late last year.

Her memberships included the United Methodist Church and its Julia Circle, the Henry County Home Extension and she was a former 4-H leader of the Hooppole Sunbeams. She enjoyed playing cards, and was a member of the Social Hour Card Club and the Wednesday Card Club.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lolabelle 'Lou' and John Lorio, Whiting, N.J., Beverly and Roger Dahlin, Springfield, Mass., and Vicki and Patrick Devine, Virginia Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Hanabarger and Alice Poppenhouse, both of Sterling, and Bernice Wolter, Las Vegas.

Chester Kruse
Chester N. Kruse, 89, of Morrison, died Monday, May 31, 2004, at his home.

Arrangements are pending at the Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

Gail Lindelof
Gail Lindelof, 79, of Tampico, died Monday, May 31, 2004, at his home.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Garland Funeral Home, Tampico. Burial is in Greenville-Fairfield cemetery , New Bedford, Ill. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today.

He was born July 15, 1924, in Tampico, to August E. and Violet McManes Lindelot. He married Rita Buxton July 19, 1942, in Sheffield, Ill.

He farmed in the Tampico area and was Fairfield Township drainage commissioner. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife; son, Michael, Tampico; daughter, Nancy Chesney, Princeton, Ill.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Rosalie Robinson
Rosalie T. 'Nana' Robinson, 85, formerly of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Orion, went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2004, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.

A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday at Orion Christian Church on U.S. 150, Orion. In accordance with her wishes, her body has been cremated. Burial will take place at Woodlawn cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Orion Christian Church Youth Group or Heartland Hospice. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Rosalie was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Dover, Ohio, daughter of Joseph and Annantonia Panza Tecco. She was one of 14 children. She graduated from Dover High School in 1936. She entered nursing training and graduated in 1940 from Peoples Hospital. She was head nurse at Akron General Hospital, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Woman's Club of Wadworth. She also volunteered at the Wadsworth Hospital for a number of years. She planted flowers at her church and the square in Wadsworth.

She was an avid gardener. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making cards, reading and her many Christian retreats. She enjoyed people and that showed in her many years of nursing and the wonderful care she gave her patients.

Survivors (and spouses) include her children, David Love, Akron, Ohio, Kathleen (Don) Goembel, Orion, Joyce (Mike) Franklin, Massillon, Ohio, ; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Gloria Thompson, California; brothers, Whitie Tecco, Cleveland, Ohio, Dan Tecco, Dover, Ohio, Edison Tecco, Maryland, Willis Tecco, Florida, Robert Tecco, California, Ted Tecco, Medina, Ohio, Joseph Tecco, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; her parents; sisters, Viola Baird, Jessie Vance; and brothers, Charles, Pat and John Tecco.

A special thank you to Rosewood Care Center and Heartland Hospice for their special care.

Wanetta Stuard
Wanetta Stuard, 81, of Colona, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.

Memorial services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Visitation is noon to service time.

Wanetta was born Jan. 17, 1923, in Geneseo, daughter of James and Kathryn Cole. She married Robert 'Stu' Stuard in 1965. He preceded her in death in November 2001.

Wanetta loved going to the mall and shopping. She also loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Robert (Linda) Baze; four grandchildren, Beth Hann, Brian Baze, Chad Baze and Julie Debusschere; and four great-grandchildren, Hailey Hann, Rachel Baze, Allyson Debusschere and Brenton Debusschere.

Melvin Williams
Melvin W. Williams, 93, of Geneseo, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.

Arrangements are pending at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo.

Among survivors is his wife, Gail.

Tamra Berrie
Tamra Maxine Berrie, 36, of Davenport, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Services are 5 p.m. Thursday at Cunnick-Collins. Private burial is in Rose Hill cemetery , Buffalo.

Tamra was born Sept 19, 1967, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, to Roxie and Karen Kennedy Smith. She married Rodney Berrie Sept. 20, 1997, in Davenport.

Survivors are her husband, stepson, Nathen, sister, Julinda Vens, nephews, Jeramie and Christopher Vens, and her mother and father, all of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
