Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
He was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Ava, Mo., to Wesley and Beatrice Davidson. He married
Earsel L. Phillips Feb. 22, 1957, in Davenport. She died June 12, 1998.
Surviving are children, Kelly Shehadeh, Davenport, Tammy Harvey, Moline, Marty Davidson, Mesa, Ariz., Jeff Davidson, New Orleans, La.; six grandchildren; brother, Gerald Davidson, Ava.
Doris Ellison
Doris L. Ellison, 80, of Davenport, died July 28, 2004, at home.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at McGinnis-Chambers, Bettendorf. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
She was born Jan. 17, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo.
Surviving are husband, Harold Ellison; daughters, Gail Olsen, Deborah Banaszek, both Davenport, Patricia Holm, Geneseo, Marjorie Spehar, Grand Junction, Colo., LaVonne Banaszek, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Connie Bailey, DeWitt, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, including Louise Spranger, Davenport.
Dorothy Gill
Dorothy May Gill, 95, of Bettendorf, died July 26, 2004, at Genesis East, Davenport.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's United Methodist, Davenport. Visitation is 9 a.m. to services. Burial is in Oakdale cemetery , Wilton, Iowa.
She was born May 20, 1909, in Cresbard, S.D., to Edward and Cora Regennitter. She married
Thomas Gill May 27, 1928. He died in 1974.
Surviving are her daughter, Grace Wright, Davenport; son, Edward Gill, Coggon, Iowa; three grandchildren; three great-grandsons; a stepgreat-grandson; sister, Nola Fern Schroeder, Bettendorf.
Kirk Ullrich
Kirk Ullrich, 49, Davenport, died July 26, 2004, in Sioux City, Iowa.
Services are noon Friday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family burial will be at a later date.
He was born March 24, 1955, to Ray and LaVon Ullrich. He married
Betty Jo Waldron in 1986.
Surviving are his wife, Davenport; daughters, Brianna Ullrich, Rock Falls, Ill., Ericka Ullrich, Urbana, Ill., Corey Schebler, Mount Vernon, Iowa; two grandchildren; parents, Davenport; sisters, Bonnie Harksen, Taylor Ridge, Christie Ullrich, Davenport; and a brother.
Inge Wentworth
Inge M. Wentworth, 63, of Davenport, died July 26, 2004, at home.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's United Methodist, Davenport. Private burial is in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Weerts, Davenport.
She was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Waldorf, Germany, to Augusta and Rosa Maria Holzworth. She married
Arthur C. Wentworth in 1959. He died in 1990.
Surviving are children, Patricia Layton, Bradford, Pa., Art and Michael Wentworth, both Davenport; five grandchildren; siblings, Erna Winnes, Mai Muhlbaier and Willie Holzworth, all of Germany.
Ida Bethurem
Graveside services for Ida Mae Bethurem are 11 a.m., Saturday, at Calvary cemetery , Rock Island.
Ms. Bethurem died July 4, 2004, at Oak Glen Home in Coal Valley.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Bethurem of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Gary Bethurem, California.

Bernette Cochrane
Bernette Carlson Cochrane, 78, a resident of Rock Island and Moline in the 1950s and early '60s, passed away July 8, 2004, in Boca Raton, Fla., after a long battle with cancer.
A family religious service has been held and several memorial receptions are being planned for the near future.
Bernette was born in Arlington Heights, Ill., to Nathaniel and Jen Carlson. She later attended Lawrence College, Appleton, Wis., where she was an honors student, president of Pi Beta Phi sorority, and where she also met John Cochrane. Following graduation in 1948, she was a writer for the NBC-Chicago Quiz Kids radio-TV show. She married
Mr. Cochrane in 1949.
After her husband completed his schooling at Northwestern University, his employment by Illinois Bell Telephone brought the family to the Tri-Cities several times, most recently in 1957, when he was the Bell manager for Moline-East Moline-Silvis. While here, Mrs. Cochrane was active in church, PTA, scouting and sorority activities. The family transferred to Springfield in 1961, and then to Chicago in 1980, at which time Bernette resumed her professional career, this time as a personnel supervisor for Marshall Field's Watertown store. After retirement in 1992, she and John wintered in their Highland Beach, Fla. condominium. They enjoyed summer in the early years at their cottage in Wisconsin, later by traveling.
She is survived by John, her husband of 55 years; daughter, Diane Majeski, Tenafly, N.J.; three sons, Dr. Bruce, Watertown, Wis., Brett and John III, Chicago; as well as eight grandchildren.
Evelyn Hankins
Evelyn B. Hankins, 80, formerly of Rock Island, died Monday, July 19, 2004, in San Antonio, Texas.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Holden Cancer Center for research.
Evelyn was born June 22, 1924, on a farm in Fulton County, Ill., the daughter of William and Elzada Mallott McNeil. Evelyn was employed at Farmall, where she met her future husband, Lloyd. They were united in marriage Oct. 5, 1951, in Bradford, Iowa.
She left work to raise her son, Gary. She loved taking trips with her family and beloved sister, Leila. Evelyn was spiritual and active in her church. She had a great personality, sharp wit and loved jokes.
Evelyn is survived by her son (and spouse), Gary (Marilyn) Hankins, San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Jason, Bryan, Ashley and Evan Hankins and brother, Harold McNeil of Muscatine, Iowa. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest McNeil.
Dorothy Kalinchinsky
Dorothy L. Kalinchinsky, 73, of Rock Island died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Carbon Cliff cemetery . Visitation will be 4 to 5 p.m. Friday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island.
Mrs. Kalin-chinsky was born June 17, 1931, in Bluffs, Ill., the daughter of John and Elizabeth Sumpter Green.
She was a nurse last working for Live-ins Unlimited, Moline.
Survivors include daughter, Susan Kalinchinsky, Moline; sons, Craig Kasparian, Rock Island, David Kalinchinsky, Milan, Henry Holtz, Rock Island and Jeff Holtz, East Moline; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Vickroy, Rock Island; and brother, Johnnie Green, Milan.
Ruth Masengarb
Ruth D. Masengarb, 82, formerly of Rock Island, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, also at the funeral home.
Ruth was born April 10, 1922 in Milwakee, Wis., the daughter of Rudolph and Martha Zunk Noack. She married
Lester Masengarb Sept. 17, 1949, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1983. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a member of The Church of Peace.
Ruth enjoyed crafts, ceramics and handiwork.
Ruth is survived by sons (and spouses), Harold (Emily) Masengarb, Rock Island, Gene (Cindy) Masengarb, Moline and Rudy (Lynn) Masengarb, Moline; grandchildren, Andy, Shawn, Sandra, Tina, Amanda, Jason, Sara, Merry Jo, Brandy, and Ben Hanson; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Francis, Quinten, Isabell, Lewis, Owen, Cierra and Sidney; sister, Mary Scherer, Davenport and a brother, Ben Faranda, Moline. In addition to her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Marion Faranda, and brothers, Don Noack and Joe Faranda.
John Pavay
John F. Pavay, 84, of Rock Island died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Services are 11 a.m. today at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is 9 a.m. to services. Interment will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Memorials may go to a charity of your choice.
John Pavay was born April 13, 1920, in Chicago.
He served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a mail carrier for the post office.
Survivors include his grandson, Kristopher Homan; and stepsons, Kenneth Homan and Kirby Homan.
Joseph Behrens
Joseph H. Behrens, 70, of Moline died July 26, 2004, at Kindred Hospital, Sycamore, Ill., after an extended illness.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Esterdahl Mortuary, Moline. Visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where further arrangements are pending.
Marilynn Ekdahl
Marilynn Ruth Ekdahl, formerly of Moline, passed away Monday, July 25, 2004, at Bishop Drumm Retirement Center, Johnston, Iowa.
She will be buried at the Rock Island Arsenal next to her husband, Kenenth. A reception for her friends and family will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Paulsen Manor, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bishop Drumm Foundation, 5837 Winwood Dr., Johnston, Iowa 50131 or Salem Lutheran Church, Moline.
Marilynn was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Moline, to Roy D. and Ruth Thorsell Somerson. She graduated from Augustana College, Rock Island, and taught English and Latin in Moline public schools for many years.
She married
Kenneth L. Ekdahl in 1948, who preceded her in death.
Marilynn's great passions included traveling, reading and studying art and history. She served as a docent at the Putman Museum in Davenport, and was a member of PEO and the Rock Island Historical Society.
Survivors include her son, Kerry Ekdahl, Urbandale, Iowa; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dirk Sauer, Hannibal, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathe and David Brannam, Owensville, Mo.; grandchildren, Chris, John and Katie Sauer; and great-grandson, Braden Sauer.
Albert Johnson
Albert W. Johnson, 73, of Moline, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Malcolm `Mack' Aldrich
Services for Malcolm W. 'Mack' Aldrich, 69, of East Moline, formerly of Geneseo, are 11 a.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
Mr. Aldrich died Monday, July 26, 2004, at his home.
He was born May 1, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Malcolm M. and Edith Battorff Aldrich. He married
Lynda Lou Hubing on Nov. 30, 1963, in Billings, Mont. She died April 19, 2003.
He was employed by John Deere Insurance Company for 25 years, retiring as vice president of the claims group in 1998. He previously worked for INA/CIGNA Insurance for 15 years.
He was president of Central Claims Executive Association, a member of International Association of Insurance Counsel, and a former member of the Phenix Township Board of Supervisors in Henry County, Ill. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, reading and history. In his youth, he enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling.
Mack is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Kori Aldrich, Palos Heights, Ill.; a sister, Joyce Turner, Missoula, Mont.; and a brother and his wife, Chuck and Haley Tenney of Casper, Wyo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda, and a son, Malcolm M. Aldrich.
Nellie Baux
Nellie May Baux, 94, of East Moline died Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline, with further arrangements pending at the mortuary and in Albia, Iowa.
