Sandra Hauser
Sandra S. 'Sandy' Hauser, 63, of East Moline, died Dec. 2, 2004, at her home.

Services are 4 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. According to Sandy's wishes, her body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Trinity Health Foundation/Patient Care, 2701 to 17th St., Rock Island.

She was born April 30, 1941, in Sterling, to Howard and Helen Dessing Rhoades. Sandy married Robert Thompson in 1958 and later married David Hauser in 1977.

She was a cook for Aramark Vending and Food Services.

Sandy enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, church and cooking, and she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors and (spouses) include her children, Helen (Mark) Spencer, Sterling, Debbie (Audie) Roselieb, Annawan, Becky (Serafin) Aguilar, Mexico, Mike (Kim) Thompson, Texas, Kathy (Richard) Polk, Rock Island, and Angel Hauser, East Moline; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Terry Schoultz, East Moline; brothers, Gary (Jan) Rhoades, Prophetstown, and David (Noka) Rhoades, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sharon Kibling and Carol Tucker; and a grandson, Alex.

Earmil Weilbrenner
Earmil Wielbrenner, 91, of East Moline, died Dec. 3, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Private graveside services are at a later date. Arrangements are by Sullivan-Phillips, East Moline.

She was born Jan. 19, 1913, in Sewell, Iowa, to Robert E. and Mary L. Fields. She married Marvin Weilbrenner in 1945. He died in 1969.

She taught grammar school and worked at Solder Aircraft Co. She enjoyed writing poetry, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are son, Hal Weilbrenner, Kingman, Ariz.; one grandchild; sister, Ellen Shock, Silvis; and several nieces and nephews.

Myra Mueller
Myra M. Mueller, 96, of Milan, formerly of Taylor Ridge, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran cemetery . Memorials may be made to the church.

Mrs. Mueller was born April 17, 1908, in rural Rock Island County, daughter of Ernest and Emma Unterkircher Seitz. She married Donald Mueller on Feb. 26, 1930, at Zion Lutheran Church. He died Dec. 9, 1995.

Along with being a homemaker, Myra was very active in the church. She was the church organist for many years and was a member of the Dorcas Society of the church. She enjoyed sending letters and cards to family and friends and growing and arranging flowers from her flower garden.

Myra is survived by her daughter and spouse, Vivian and Richard Geisler, Rock Island; grandchildren, Paula Nelson, Vicki Bull, Colleen Bestian, Kevin and Judy Geisler; great-grandchildren, Penny Meskan, Jay Nelson, Nicholas and Mitch Bull, Christopher and Carrie Bestian; brother, Elmer Seitz, Taylor Ridge; and daughter-in-law, Pat Mueller, Aledo. She was preceded in death by a son, Llewllyn Mueller; sister, Elsie Seitz; and brother, George Seitz.

Albert Banks
Albert H. Banks, 87, of Aledo, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Mercer County Hospital, Aledo.

Arrangements are pending at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo.

Marcellin Decker
Marcellin A. Decker, 93, a resident of Geneseo Good Samaritan Village, formerly Atkinson, died Dec. 3, 2004, at the home.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic, Atkinson. Burial is in St. Anthony's cemetery . Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Vandemore, Atkinson, with a rosary at 4:45 p.m.

He was born Jan. 5, 1911. He married Alberta Taets Nov. 21, 1935. She died in 1999.

Surviving are sons, Jon, Moscow, Idaho, Jay, Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; daughter, Joy Dillon, Inverness, Ill.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

O'Bert `Gene' Hout
O'Bert 'Gene' Hout, 77, of Colona, died Dec. 3, 2004, at Forest Hill Health & Rehabilitation Center, East Moline.

Visitation is 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Family Funeral Services, Colona, where further arrangements are pending.

Mary Ann `Babe' Rielly
Mary Ann 'Babe' Rielly, 74, of Geneseo, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at her home.

According to her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. There will be no services. Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo, is in charge of the arrangements. Private inurnment will be in North cemetery , Geneseo. Memorials may be made to the Mary Rielly Memorial Fund c/o John Rielly, 626 S. Illinois St., Geneseo, IL 61254.

Mary was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Savanna, Ill., daughter of Matthew G. and Mary A. Troha Pollock. She was a graduate of Savanna High School. She married John Rielly Sept. 2, 1950, in Savanna.

Mary was church organist at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Savanna, for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church and its Altar & Rosary Circle 5. She enjoyed music and her knitting group.

Survivors include her husband, John; her mother, Mary Pollock, Mount Carroll, Ill.; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Linda Rielly, Bettendorf; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Alan Krukowski, Lakeville, Minn.; grandchildren, Kathryn Smulik and Michael and Paul Krukowski; sister, Dorothy Rabun, Riverside, Calif. She was preceded in death by her father.

Kenneth Handrick
Kenneth J. Handrick, 59, of Davenport, died Dec. 4, 2004, at his home.

Services and Mass of Christian Burial are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic, Davenport. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

He was born June 26, 1945, in Wausau, Wis., to Jacob and Evelyn Holy Handrick. He married Janet Pestka Sept. 30, 1967, in Mosinee, Wis.

Survivors (and spouses) are his wife, Jan; daughter, Sara (Donald) Merritt, Milton, Fla.; son, Jon (Cathy) Handrick, Laske City, Fla.; grandchildren, Morgan and Jacob Merritt; mother, Presque Isle, Wis.; and sisters, Janice (Leo) Crawley, Presque Isle, Dorothy (Irv) Ligman, Lake Havasu, Ariz.

James Hulke
Services for James D. Hulke, 82, of Davenport, are 10 a.m. Monday at Cunnick-Collins, Davenport. Private burial with military honors will follow at Davenport Memorial Park.

Visitation is 1 to 3 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Mr. Hulke died Dec. 3, 2004, at home.

He was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Davenport, to William and Ruth Hulke. He married Delores Bucholtz on April 15, 1943.

Surviving are his wife; daughters, Billie Lawson, Davenport, Kay Claussen, Bettendorf, Georgia Braden, Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister.

Elbert Smick
Elbert Smick, 94, of Rock Island, longtime teacher and well-known photographer, died Dec. 3, 2004, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Esterdahl Mortuary, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

Elbert was born Oct. 3, 1910, in Bushnell, Ill., to Clair Fleming and Eva Eckert Smick. He married Martha Meyer July 23, 1950, in Strawberry Point, Iowa. She preceded him in death Jan. 29, 1981. He married Dorothy Liljegren March 16, 1985. She preceded him in death Feb. 9, 2001.

Elbert was a U.S. Navy combat photgrapher with the Seabees during World War II where he was stationed in the South Pacific. Elbert was a teacher for the Moline School District for 20 years, retiring in 1970, where he taught elementary education for Horace Mann, Moline. He also taught summer school at Augustana for the deaf and hard of hearing and taught photography for the Rock Island adult education program for 17 years. Elbert was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island. He also was past president of the Scottish-American Society of the Quad Cities, and a member of the Augustana Historical Society. He was active in the local camera clubs and was a star exhibitor in Photographic Society of America. Many will remember Elbert for his slide programs given at various organizations. He was a devout Christian who was strong in his faith.

Survivors (and spouses) are stepson, Bruce (Carolyn) Liljegren, Eugene, Ore.; stepdaughter, Judy (Larry) Trollan, Rock Island; two stepgrandsons; four great-stepgrandchildren; and numerous Smick cousins. Sandra Hauser
Sandra S. 'Sandy' Hauser, 63, Moline, died Dec. 2, 2004, at her home.

Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Services are 4 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary, where further arrangements are pending.

Virginia Rortvedt
Virginia P. Rortvedt, 85, of East Moline, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

There will be no services. Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron, is in charge of arrangements.

The former Virginia P. Medley was born Jan. 25, 1919, in Mesa, Ariz., the daughter of Pete and Theresa Hille Medley.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larie and Judi Foster, Port Byron; grandchildren, Joseph Foster, Kerny, Ariz., Mischa Poinsett, Bettendorf, and Amy Davis, Las Vegas, Nev.; and three great-grandchildren.

Daniel Begyn
Daniel F. Begyn, 76, of Andalusia, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia, with the Rev. Richard Barclift as the celebrant. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Family Funeral Services, Milan, with a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery , Matherville.

He was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Preemption, son of Maurice and Hermenia Janssen Begyn. He married Dorothy Burns on June 10, 1950, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Matherville.

He was an operating engineer working out of the Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, retiring in 1992. He helped establish the Andalusia Volunteer Ambulance in 1975. He was a former road commissioner of Andalusia Township. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia, and Union Local 150.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Andalusia; children and spouses, Kathleen Kerres-Armstrong and Ron Armstrong, Aledo, Carol and Bud Schaeffer, Aledo, Clarissa and Chris Stark, Taylor Ridge, Daniel J. and Nancy Begyn, Rock Island, Patrick and Kathleen Begyn, Taylor Ridge, Michael and Janet Begyn, Milan, and Christopher Begyn, Andalusia; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Rhonda Begyn, Andalusia, and Sandy Begyn, Taylor Ridge; brother, John Begyn, Milan; sisters, Luella Taube, Milan, and Lillian DeSmet, Rock Island. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Louis Dominic Begyn; and a son, Dennis Begyn.

Jacob Brackemyer
Jacob J. Brackemyer, 85, of Morrison, died Dec. 3, 2004, at Mercy Medical North, Clinton, Iowa.

Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bosma-Renkes, Morrison. There is no visitation. Burial of cremains is in Grove Hill cemetery , Morrison.

He was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Morrison. He married Dorothy May Meyer Aug. 3, 1938.

Surviving are his wife; children, Malinda Galloway, Garrett, both Morrison, Steven, Rochelle, Ill.; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Lena Barsema, Fulton, June Vanderlaan, Clinton; brother, Richard, Morrison.

Mildrajeanne Chatterton
Mildrajeanne Chatterton, 78, Ellisville, Ill., died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at Avon, Ill., Nursing Home.

Services are 2 p.m. today at Prairie City, Ill., Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Ellisville cemetery . Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements are by Corman, Avon.

She was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Farmington, Ill., to Farlie and Lottus Brashear Green. She married Stuart Sam Chatterson July 10, 1949, in Farmington.

She was a music teacher in the Avon and Valley school districts.

Surviving are her children, Brett, Avon, Greg, Ellisville, Debbie Burkhead, Aurora, Kim Weese, Aledo, and Kelly Mack, Washington, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Malcolm Green, New Port Beach, Calif.; and a sister, Farlene Clayton, Peoria, Ill.

Marcellin Decker
Marcellin A. Decker, 93, of Geneseo, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson.

Richard Dickison
Richard 'Dick' Dickison, 50, Kirkland, Wash., died Nov. 17, 2004, at Evergreen Memorial, Kirkland.

Services were noon Saturday, Nov. 20, at St. John Vianney Catholic, Kirkland. Arrangements were by Acacia Funeral Home, Kirkland. A memorial fund was created for his children.

Dick was born June 11, 1954, in Kirkland, and married Jane Mosher. He was employed by Foushee and Associates, Bellevue, Wash., for 21 years.

Surviving are his wife; daughters, Kira and Nicole Dickison; sister, Cindy Morris, all Kirkland; parents, Cecil and Flo Dickison, Seattle; sisters-in-law, Dawn Tubbs, Geneseo, Rita Mosher, Island Lake, Wash., Cindy Krafft, Chesterton, Ind.; brother-in-law, Paul Mosher, Geneseo; mother- and father-in-law, Joseph and Norma Mosher, Geneseo.
