Carolyn Leland Miller
Carolyn Leland Miller, 92, of Macomb, Ill., died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at home.

Memorial services are 11 a.m. Dec. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Macomb. There will be no visitation. Burial was in Bushnell cemetery . Arrangements are by Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen, Macomb.

She was born June 8, 1912, in Moline, the daughter of Walter C. Soderstrom and Nellie C. Johnson. She first married John Phillip Leland. He passed away in 1967. She then married Walter Miller. He is also deceased.

She received her B.A. from Augustana College. She lived most of her life in Moline and East Moline, before moving to Macomb in 1976. She taught fifth grade in Moline public schools for 23 years.

Surviving are her two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Raymond Nees
Raymond A. Nees, 75, of Moline died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline.

Evelyn Stevenson
Evelyn Stevenson, 78, of Moline died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at her residence.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where further arrangements are pending. Survivors include her husband, John Stevenson.

Maynard Wild Jr.
Maynard E. Wild Jr., 44, of Moline died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at his residence.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, with funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Preemption cemetery . Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Wild was born Sept. 8, 1960, in Moline, the son of Maynard E. and Olivia H. Solis Wild Sr. He married Lisa A. Mullens Dec. 31, 1987, in Rock Island.

Maynard was a graduate of Rock Island High School, where he was a member of the wrestling team and qualified for the Illinois State Championship.

Mr. Wild was employed by Forrest Siding Co., working in the warehouse department and delivery.

He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed jogging, biking and reading.

Maynard is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Aaron W. Wild, Rock Island; granddaughter, Madalyn Brown, Moline; mother, Olivia H. Wild, Moline; sister, Kelly Wild, Portland, Ore.; brothers, Benny Wild, Moline, Danny Wild, Champaign, Ill.; father and mother-in-law, Shorty and Lora Mullens, Boden, Ill.; sisters-in-law and spouses, Diane and Jim Ducey, Milan, Debra Raines, Milan, Donna and Darren Anderson, Rock Island; and several nieces and nephews. Maynard was preceded in death by his father, Maynard E. Wild Sr. in 1997.

C. George Parr
C. George Parr, 59, of Urbana, Ill., formerly of East Moline, died Nov. 29, 2004, at his home.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. A memorial fund will be established.

He was born Aug. 5, 1945, in Moline, the son of Glenn and Mary Frances Kutzner Parr. He married Peggy Phillips.

George was in culinary science at the University of Illinois. George loved to cook for his family and friends.

He treasured his dog and cat.

Survivors and (spouses) include his son, Jarrod 'Jay' Parr, New Richmond, Wis.; mother, Mary Frances Lindquist, East Moline; sister, Debby Eldridge, Moline; special nephews, Travis and Cody Eldridge. He was preceded in death by his father.

Ida Goodman
Ida M. Cluney Goodman, 72, of Silvis died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at her home.

Memorial services are 6 p.m. Thursday at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline, with the Rev. William Smith officiating. Memorial visitation is 5 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Her body was cremated. A memorial has been established.

She was born March 10, 1932, in Havana, Ill., daughter of Floyd and Flossie Duckwyler Cluney. She married Joe I. Goodman Dec. 23, 1949, in Havana. He died July 20, 1995.

She was a waitress and cook at the LeClaire Hotel Top Hat and various restaurants for 40 years, retiring in 1990.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to make crafts and go to yard sales. She also enjoyed fishing and family fish frys.

Survivors (and spouses) are her daughters, Janet (Randy) Patterson, Milan, Janice (Terry) Osborn, East Moline, June (Jim) Rockhold, Silvis; sons, James (Pat) Goodman, Milan, and Joe (Marie) Goodman, East Moline; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, William Cluney, Michigan; and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Cluney; and sister, Mary Ann Mills.

Richard Cavanaugh
Richard A. Cavanaugh, 68, of Lyndon, Ill., died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004.

According to his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Arrangements are by McDonald Funeral Home, Prophetstown.

Richard was born March 4, 1936, in Davenport, the son of Richard W. and Fannie E. Rouse Cavanaugh.

Survivors (and spouses) are his son, Michael (Stella) Cavanaugh, and daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth (Dwight) Gale, both of Las Vegas, Nev. and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard Cavanaugh.

William Cook
William Glen Cook, 80, of Orion died Nov. 29, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Orion United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Western Township cemetery . Military honors will be conducted by Orion American Legion Post 255 and Orion VFW Post 143. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion. Memorials may be made to Orion United Methodist Church or Orion Fire Department.

Bill was born July 4, 1924, in Coal Valley to Lewis and Frances Branberg Cook. He attended Coal Valley schools upon entering the Army to serve in World War II. He received his diploma from the Moline School District in a special ceremony at Horace Mann School in May of 2001. He married Audrey Marie Lunn Charlson on Aug. 28, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo.

Bill was a mechanic in the maintenance department at John Deere Industrial Works for 42 years. He retired in 1989.

Bill was a member of Orion United Methodist Church. He was a life member of Orion American Legion Post 255 and a charter member of the Orion VFW Post 143. He was a member of the Moline Vikings, Orion and Western Sportsman Club.

Bill loved to play bingo at Reynolds American Legion Hall and play the slot machines at the Isle of Capri. He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing.

Bill was well-known for his garden and going to Muscatine for melons. He will always be remembered for riding his John Deere tractor.

This year, Bill served as grand marshall of the First Orion Fireworks Lighted Parade in celebration of his 80th birthday.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey; children and spouses, John and Kathryn Charlson, Rio, Ill., Bill and Hilde Charlson, Spanaway, Wash., Pam and Bob Schroeder, Orion, Kathy and Larry Anderson, Orion, Glen 'Butch' and Rhonda Cook, Orion, Pat and Jim Cooper, Orion; 22 grandkids; 29 great-grandkids; brothers and sisters, Mary and Elmer Johnson, Orion, Ray Cook and friend Betty, Milan, Lois Leif, Lynn Center, Rosalie Neppl, Moline, Don and Charlene Cook, Coal Valley, Marvin and Kathy Cook, Urbana, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.

John Kasch
John A. Kasch 83, of Rockford died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Hartland Health Care Center, Moline.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL. 61103, with the Rev. Fred Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in Willwood Burial Park, Rockford. Visitation will be noon until time of service. Memorials may be made to the America Lung Association.

John was born Aug. 29, 1921 in Rockford, the son of Albert and Anna Miller Kasch. He lived in Rockford for many years working for the Winnebago County Highway Department. He married Virginia Brain on July 10, 1945, in Rockford. She preceded him in death Jan. 30, 2004.

He served in the Navy in the Pacific during World War II.

John enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, pheasant hunting and was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include his daughter (and spouse), Debra (Parker) Brady; and grandson Michael J. Brady.

Edward `Tuffy' Kolata
Edward 'Tuffy' Kolata, 88, Kewanee, died Nov. 29, 2004, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic, Kewanee. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Rux, Kewanee, with a rosary at 8 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded and private burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery , Kewanee, at a later date.

Surviving are his wife, Joan; sons, John, Kewanee, Joseph, Chula Vista, Calif.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Henry, Kewanee; sisters, Adella Beauprez and Stacy Shinkevich, both of Kewanee.

LaVelle Peterson
LaVelle F. Peterson, 78, Morrison, died Nov. 30, 2004, at Mercy, North, Clinton, Iowa.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Lutheran, Morrison. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Bosma-Renkes, Morrison. Burial is in Grove Hill cemetery , Morrison.

She was born April 9, 1926, in Morrison, to Sidney V. and Edna Milnes. She married Harold Peterson Dec. 17, 1946.

Surviving are her husband; daughter, LaVon Downing, Rockford, Ill.; sons, Glenn and Ray, both of Morrison; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Milnes, Mt. Carroll, Ill., Virgil Milnes, Prophetstown.

Wesley Prosser
Wesley L. Prosser, 72, of Sherrard died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola.

Sherry Robertson
Sherry L. Robertson, 42, Reynolds, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, following an illness.

Arrangements are pending at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.

Darold `Bud' Sackett
Darold Orr 'Bud' Sackett, 82, formerly of Garland, Kan., and more recently from Ahoski, N.C., died Nov. 28, 2004, at Three Rivers Nursing Home, Windnor, N.C.

Graveside services with military honors are 1:30 p.m. Friday at National cemetery , Fort Scott, Kan. Those who plan to attend should meet at 1:15 p.m. at Cheney Witt, Fort Scott.

He was born April 12, 1922, in Fort Scott, Kan., the son of Paul and Lillian Payton Sackett. He married Susan Irene Davis.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife; son, Darold O. Sackett Jr.; daughters, Lillian E. Fisher, Fort Scott, and Anna Marie 'Lynda' Fulton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, William and Robert Sackett, both of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cliffard Sackett; and sister, Georgie Cook.

Lena Senior
Lena Senior, 87, Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, died Nov. 30, 2004, at the nursing home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bosma-Renkes, Fulton. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Interment is in Garden Plain cemetery , Fulton.

She was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Garden Plain, Ill., to William and Lucy Temple Boelkens. She married Harvey C. Senior Jan. 21, 1937, in Fulton. He died Dec. 26, 1996.

Surviving are daugther, Judy Carstensen, Clinton, Iowa; sons, Larry Senior, Fulton, Bill Senior, Morrison; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Geerts, Fulton.

Jakob Shaw
Jakob Rian Shaw, infant son of Bill and Mindy Shaw, of Keithsburg, died at birth on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, Moline.

Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Keithsburg, with visitation one hour prior to services. Private burial will be in Greenmound cemetery , Keithsburg. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jakob's name at Joy State Bank. Arrangements are by Speer, Aledo.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Mindy; brothers, William Jr. and Brett Shaw, at home; paternal grandparents, Boyd and Donna Shaw, Keithsburg; maternal grandparents, Cynthia Small, Keithsburg, and Craig Small, Muscatine, Iowa; maternal great-grandparents, Bea Morse and Dale Hidlebaugh, Keithsburg; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
