Virginia Anderson
Virginia L. Anderson, 78, of Wake Village, Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, in Texarkana, Texas.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Moline, is assisting the family.

Virginia was born April 5, 1928, in Liberal, Mo., to John James and Romaine Richardson Walker. She married Clyde William Anderson on Feb. 22, 1947, in Moline. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1985.

Virginia was a homemaker and a member of Wake Village Baptist Church.

Survivors (and spouses) include daughters, Deborah (Randall) Coleman, Wake Village, Sharon (Ivan) Ericson, Columbus, Ga.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Wanda (Bob) Riordan; brothers, Don Weaver, and Merle (Nikki) Weaver. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepdad, Marvin Weaver; brothers, Marvin Weaver Jr., and Roy Weaver.

Deloris Armstrong
Deloris Armstrong, 72, of Moline, died Nov. 8, 2006, at Bettendorf Health Care.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Faith Walk World Outreach, Silvis. Visitation is 11 a.m. to services at the church. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial, Moline.

She married Robert Noel in 1951. She married Norman Armstrong in 1959. He died in 2001.

Survivors are children, Wendy Moore and Michael Noel; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Stevenson, Donald, Merlyn and Daniel DeCoster.

Paul Cummings
Another leaf has fallen in the Paul Cummings family. We will rejoice! No more pain, no more sleepless nights, but resting peaceful in Jesus Christ. Paul Ross Cummings, 77, of East Moline, succumbed on Sunday, Nov 5, 2006, at Forest Hill Rehabilitation Center, East Moline.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline. The Rev. Van Flowers Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m., one hour prior to his services, on Saturday, Nov 11. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in Moline. Memorials can be made to Trinity Hospice in Rock Island.

Paul Ross Cummings, a.k.a. "P.C." was born July 18, 1929, in East Moline, to Joseph and Elizabeth Cummings. He married Dorothy Mosley on April 14, 1967.

P.C. worked as a machinist at John Deere Harvester, East Moline for 40 years, retiring in 1986. In his leisure time, he enjoyed tennis, playing dominoes, fishing and listening to the blues. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his kids and grandkids.

P.C. was a man that always gave you his last, and no matter whose child was around he took them under his wing and taught them all he knew. He was an awesome man and will be much missed.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife of 39 years, Dorothy, East Moline; son, Paul Lynn, East Moline; daughters, Wanda (John) Malvik, Moline, Carolyn Paul, California; a brother, Joseph (Juanita), East Moline; sister-in-law, Willa Mae; a host of nieces and nephews; six grandkids; and two greatgrandkids. P.C. was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

Louella McGowan
Louella G. McGowan, 59, of East Moline, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at home.

Arrangements are pending at Sullivan-Phillips Mortuary, East Moline.

Alice Rabe
Alice E. Rabe, 92, of East Moline, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Arrangements are pending at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Moline.

Cecilia Scherschel
Cecilia C. Scherschel, 95, of East Moline, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Sullivan Phillips Mortuary, East Moline. The Rev. A. W. Rosa will officiate. Burial will be in Hampton Township cemetery , Hampton. Her visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Cecilia was born March 30, 1911, in Rock Island, to Julius and Emmerance Verhoye Van Paemel. She married Adam Scherschel, Feb. 10, 1945, in Colona. He preceded her Jan. 22, 1969.

She was a housewife and former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. She enjoyed gardening and loved her dog, Sparkey.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Pankey, Carbon Cliff, and Sandra (spouse, Brian) Muller, Moline; son, Robert Scherschel, East Moline; grandchildren, Jay and Roy Pankey, Jeri Longueville, Staci Payne, Michael Muller, Jana and Justin Scherschel, Jill Cruse, Joel DeGraeve and Jewely Ogden; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard; and brothers, Joseph and Maurice.

Ethel Becka
Ethel Mae Becka, 90, of Coal Valley, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Landen Kohn
Landen Thomas Kohn, 4-month old son of Jacque and Rodney Kohn of Coal Valley, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center, Moline.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley.

Harold `Dick' Abbott
Harold Richard "Dick" Abbott, 66, of Fulton, Ill., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton, Iowa.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Open Door, Clinton. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment is in Fulton Township cemetery . Bosma-Renkes, Fulton, is handling arrangements.

He was born Jan. 29, 1940.

Surviving are wife, Karen; daughters, Dixie Shaff, Fulton, Connie Hoffman, Fulton; sons, Roy Abbott, Fulton, Ron Abbott, Fulton; 13 grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers.

Mary Beth Cannell
Mary Beth Cannell, 80, of Kewanee, formerly of Galva, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside and inurnment services will be 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, at Galva cemetery . Arrangements are by Rux, Kewanee.

Mary was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Nekoma, Ill., daughter of Clyde and Mary Lehan Miller. She married George W. Cannell Aug. 22, 1953, Galva. He died Aug. 11, 1985.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by sons, Terry Cannell and Tim Cannell, both of Kewanee.

Craig Glattly
Craig F. Glattly, 47, of Lake Forrest, Ill., formerly of Atkinson, was killed Monday evening Nov. 6, 2006, in an automobile/pedestrian accident in Lake Forrest.

Funeral services and burial will be Friday in Lake Forrest. A local memorial service will be next week at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson, where further arrangements are pending.

Among his survivors are his parents Joe and Sandra Glattly, Atkinson.

Wilma Brown
Wilma Christina Carolina Winter Brown, 96, Beavercreek, Ohio, formerly of Davenport, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at Crestview Manor, Beavercreek.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Runge, Davenport. Visitation is 10:30 a.m. to services. Burial is in Fairmount cemetery .

She married Gordon Brown Jan. 2, 1937. He died in 1941.

Surviving are daughter-in-law, Robin Paris, Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Sarah Garvey; stepgranddaughter, Katharina Paris; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son, David.

Dot Christiansen
Dot A. Christiansen, 67, of Bettendorf, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Trinity at Terrace Park Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Runge, Davenport. Visitation is two hours prior to services at Runge. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park.

Dot was born Oct. 23, 1939. She married Jerry Christiansen March 26, 1975, in Moline. He died in 2001.

Survivors (and spouses) include her stepdaughters, Ruth (Byron) Buck, China, and Natalie (John) Crose, Orion; sisters, Della Hogan, California, Dixie Leslie, Georgia; brothers, Tom and Ted Harmon, both Missouri; nine grandchildren.

William Daley
William H. Daley, 90, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Genesis West, Davenport.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mark's Lutheran, Davenport. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport. Burial with military rites is in National cemetery , Arsenal Island.

He was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Davenport, to William and Ella Daley.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine; children, Stephen, Davenport, Richard, Torrence, Calif., Thomas, Villa Park, Calif., Anne Sims, Maryville, Tenn., David, Coal Valley; eight grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.

Rose `Eleanor' Lauer
Rose "Eleanor" Lauer, 94, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Manor Care, Davenport.

Per Eleanor's wish, cremation rites will be accorded and there will be no visitation or services.

Rose Eleanor Lauer was born Aug. 18, 1912, in Hampton, Ill., a daughter of Samuel and Emma Landt Lauer.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a sales clerk for the former Woolworth's and S.S. Kresge's.

Survivors include a special friend, Ellen Posios, Davenport. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

J. `Dan' Mackin
J. "Dan" Mackin, 66, of Davenport, died Nov. 6, 2006, at home.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Weerts, Davenport. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today. Burial is in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery , DeWitt, Iowa.

He was born Aug. 11, 1940, in Davenport, to Francis and Alma McManus Mackin. He married Kathleen Farrel Aug. 12, 1967, in DeWitt. They later divorced.

Surviving are his daughter, Andrea Markley, Columbus, Ohio, Mark Lenaghan, St. Paul, Minn., and Aaron Lenaghan, Rock Island; five grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Richard, both of Bettendorf, and David, DeWitt.

Hannah Riley
Hannah Renae Riley, infant daughter of Brian and Jaimi Dennis Riley, Bettendorf, died Nov. 8, 2006, at her home.

Prayers to receive her to the church are 5 p.m. today at St. John Vianney Catholic, Bettendorf, with visitation until 6 p.m. Services are Monday at St. James Catholic, Kearney, Neb. Burial is in Kearney cemetery . Local arrangments are by Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport.

She was born Oct. 15, 2006.

Surviving are her parents, sister, Rebecca, and brothers, Blake and Ethan, all of Bettendorf; grandparents and great-grandparents all in Nebraska.

Leona Thomsen
Leona L. Thomsen, 81, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in Blue Grass.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday, with a noon visitation, at Trinity Lutheran, Davenport. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Weerts, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Michael Holbrook, Louisiana, Mary and Terry Giebelstein, Blue Grass, Karen and Gary Meincke, Walcott; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Marilyn Ihlefeld, Wisconsin. Her husband Elmer preceded her in death.

Lorene Wilkerson
Lorene E. Wilkerson, 78, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Bettendorf Healthcare Center.

Arrangements are pending at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.

Tracy Hall
Tracy Hall, 42, of Rock Island died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Arrangements are pending at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan.
