Shirley Polson

Shirley A. Polson, 76, of Danville died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Danville Care Center. Arrangements are pending at Lunning Chapel.

Louise Bergman

Louise Elizabeth Bergman, 87, of Montrose, formerly of Keokuk, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Montrose Health Center.

Born May 11, 1918, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Frank and Merle Peevler Hagmeier. She first married Harold Stehl. He preceded her in death. On March 13, 1954, she married Walter Albert Bergman. He died Dec. 29, 1993.

Mrs. Bergman was an Avon representative for 50 years.

She was a lifelong resident of Keokuk and a member of Sandusky United Methodist Church, the Ladies Aid Society and Belmont Cosmopolitan Club. She enjoyed working in her garden, making crafts and crocheting.

Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn York of Pryor, Okla.; three grandchildren; seven great–grandchildren; two great–great–grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and seven brothers.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Bergman will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Vigen Memorial Home, with the Rev. John Abraham officiating. Burial will be in Sandusky Cemetery in rural Keokuk.

A memorial has been established for Sandusky United Methodist Church.

RANDALL L. "RANDY" DEHNER

Funeral Services for Mr. Randall L. "Randy" Dehner, 53, of Thermopolis, Wyom–ing, formerly of Burlington, who died on Saturday, April 23, 2005, in Riverton, Wyoming, will be held in the First Christian Church located at 1221 Park Avenue on Saturday, April 30, 2005, at 1:00 P.M. Rev. David Nash will officiate. Interment with full graveside military rites conducted by the Offutt Air Force Base Honor Guard will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Burlington High School track team.

MARTAVIES MICHAEL ALLEN THOMPSON

Graveside Committal Services for Martavies Michael Allen Thompson, one hour old infant, who died on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Great River Medical Center will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery , Babyland, on Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Shane McCampbell will officiate. The family will receive friends in Prugh's Chapel on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in memory of Martavies Michael Allen Thompson.

Herbert "Herb" R. Curran

The graveside funeral service and interment for Mr. Herbert "Herb" Ray Curran, 71, who died Thursday, April 26, 2007 will be Monday, April 30th, at 10:00 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery , Morning Sun. The Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf will officiate. Friends may call from noon until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29th, in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A memorial has been established.

JODY PIPER

Funeral Services for Jody Gayle Piper, 46, of Burlington who died in her home Monday, May 31, 2004, will be held at Prugh's Chapel on Friday, June 4, 2004, at 3:00 P.M. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate. Friends may call after 8:00 A.M. on Thursday with the family receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Prugh's Chapel. A memorial has been established in her name.

Marie Davidson

Marie "Helen" Davidson, 98, of Kahoka, Mo., formerly of Wayland, Mo., died Saturday, May 31, 2003, at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Born April 25, 1905, near Wayland, she was the daughter of Walter J. and Mary Schreck Pence. On Dec. 30, 1938, she married Willis Glen Davidson. He died July 14, 1969.

Mrs. Davidson lived in Clark County all her life. She worked at Swift and Company for 28 years.

She was a lifelong member of St. Martha's Catholic Church, St. Martha's Altar and Rosary Society and the Royal Neighbors Lodge in Wayland. She enjoyed traveling on the Oats bus.

Survivors include three sisters, Rose Maerz of Keokuk, Frances Bliven of LaGrange, Mo., and Nellie Palm of Toledo, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and special friend Eleanora Hudson of Wayland.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Davidson will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martha's Catholic Church with the Revs. Roland Carbone and David Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour before the service, from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Martha's Catholic Church.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka is in charge of the arrangements.

A memorial has been established for St. Martha's Catholic Church.

Sally Gelsthorpe

Sally A. Gelsthorpe, 65, of Fort Madison, died at 11:44 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.

Born May 17, 1939, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Carl and Hazel Smalley Miller. On Nov. 28, 1957, she married James E. Gelsthorpe in Denmark.

Mrs. Gelsthorpe worked for Gleason Corp. for 35 years before retiring.

She was a member of Keokuk Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include one son, Jerry M. Gelsthorpe of Fort Madison; one daughter, Cynthia Roberts of Fort Madison; eight grandchildren; one great–granddaughter; three brothers, Carl R. Miller Jr. of Fort Madison, James M. Miller of Vacaville, Calif., and Larry L. Miller of Napa, Calif.; four sisters, Bevery Lamon, Peggy M. Miller and Judith Stephenson, all of Fort Madison, and Nancy Corns of Waverly; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at King–Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Gelsthorpe will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at King–Lynk Funeral Home, with Pastor Lance Perry officiating. Burial will be in Hilcrest Memorial Park Cemetary.

A memorial has been established.

Jennie Coffman

Jennie M. Coffman, 77, of Hamilton, Ill., died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at her home. Arrangements are pending at Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton.

Maxine French

Maxine Seabold French, 87, of Keokuk, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 2006, at Keo–kuk Area Hospital in Keo–kuk.

Born on Feb. 22, 1919 in Lee County, she was the daughter of George F. & Edith Pearl Rein Seabold. On Dec. 31, 1941, she married Leonard L. French in Palmyra, Mo.

She was a lifelong resident of Keokuk and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. In her younger years, she was a great fast–pitch softball pitcher, winning many championships on a team with her sisters. She was a member of ARC and she liked flowers, gardening and sewing.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Larry French; three daughters, Pamela Baxter, Nancy Meinhardt and Carla Jo French, all of Keokuk; one brother, Robert Seabold of Keokuk; three sisters, Ruth Seabold of St. Louis, Louise Laubersheimer and Shirley Wood, both of Keokuk; five grandchildren and three great–grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, two sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. on Tuesday at Greaves Mortuary in Keokuk with family meeting with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services for Mrs. French will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greaves Mortuary, with the Rev. Bruce Bloise officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Keokuk.

Memorials have been established for Park Ridge Activity Center or to the Shriner's Crippled Children Hospital.

Juanita Waymack

Juanita Waymack, 96, of Abingdon, Ill., formerly of Roseville, Ill., died at 4 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2004, at the care center in Abingdon.

Born June 27, 1907, in Monmouth, Ill., she was the daughter of George and Augusta Clontz Nolan. On Dec. 1, 1928, she married Wilmer L. Waymack in Monmouth. He died Oct. 13, 1983.

Mrs. Waymack was a homemaker and helped her husband operate Country Barn Antiques for a number of years.

She was reared in Monmouth and attended Monmouth public schools and Monmouth High School. She loved antiques, flowers and gardening and tending her yard and garden. She was a member of Warren County Home Bureau.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharyn L. Cunningham of Roseville; one son, Gordon L. Waymack of Mount Vernon, Mo.; six grandchildren; seven great–grandchildren; and three great–great–grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be today until the time of service at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. There will be no family visitation.

The graveside service for Mrs. Waymack will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Turnbull Funeral Home, with Eleanor Landon officiating. Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the care center in Abingdon.

Robert Todd

Dr. Robert L. Todd, 80, of Burlington, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, in Dallas City, Ill.

Born July 24, 1921, in Croswell, Mich., he was the son of Berton A. and Emma Clark Todd. On May 10, 1948, he married Eugenia K. Korcheusky in Detroit. She died Jan. 3, 1996.

Dr. Todd practiced cardiology and internal medicine.

He was a graduate of Rutgers University and New York Medical College. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Internal Medicine, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and Iowa Medical Society. He enjoyed fishing, working on the farm, reading philosophy and gardening. He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Joseph Todd of Bloomington, Ind., and John B. Todd of Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren; one sister, Isabelle Jackson of Fairhope, Ala.; two nieces; one nephew; and special friend, Georgia Lauer of Burlington.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel.

The funeral for Dr. Todd will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Forrest Krummel officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

A memorial will be established for a medical scholarship in his name.

DONALD RAY NORTON SR.

Memorial Services for Mr. Donald Ray Norton Sr., 84, of Burlington, who died at his home Friday, July 26, 2002, will be held at the Riverside Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 6, 2002, at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Charles Stevens will officiate. Memorials have been established for the Riverside Baptist Church, Lee County Hospice and Great River Hospice.
