Norma Nutt
Norma Nutt, 78, of Tuscon, Ariz., formerly of Keokuk, died Monday evening, June 7, 2004, in Tucson.
Her body has been cremated.
A memorial service for Ms. Nutt will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Carthage, Ill.
Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
Steven Patton
Steven W. Patton, 49, of Terrace Gardens Nursing and Rehab, Colorado Springs, Colo., died Thursday, June 19, 2003, in Colorado Springs. Arrangements are pending at Prugh Funeral Service.
Kathryn Simmons
Kathryn A. "Kay" Simmons, 58, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Born March 2, 1946, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Robert Leslie and Merea Ann Mowery Stagers. On Dec. 6, 1964, she married Donald Dean Simmons in Trenton.
Mrs. Simmons was a longtime homemaker. She loved to baby–sit, and did so often.
She attended schools in Brighton, Morning Sun and Mount Pleasant.
She was a former Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Southeast Iowa Antique Car Club. Her hobby was collecting blue glassware and she liked to shop.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sondra May Henry of Auburn, Neb., and Melissa Jane Ross of Mount Pleasant; two granddaughters; one brother, Kenneth Stagers of Mount Pleasant, and her grandmother, Minnie Mowery of Mount Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Simmons will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home with the Rev. James Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for the Arthritis Foundation and Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Marjorie Elting
Marjorie A. Elting, 75, of Keokuk, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
Born Aug. 19, 1926, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of Harry and Beulah Van Hyning White. On Dec. 30, 1950, she married Claude L. "Puz" Elting in Montrose. He died Feb. 12, 2001.
Mrs. Elting was the Lee County deputy auditor from 1970 until 1989.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Keokuk.
Survivors include two daughters, Chris Spann and Claudia Rose, both of Keokuk; three grandchildren; and two great–grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
There will be no visitation.
The graveside service for Mrs. Elting will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Keokuk National Cemetery , with the Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating.
A memorial service will be at noon Monday at First Christian Church of Keokuk. The family will meet with friends following the service.

Paul Rynell
Paul Rynell, 69, of Burlington, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at his home. Arrangements are pending at Lunning Chapel.
James McTee
James "Larry" Laurance McTee Jr., 64, of Fort Madison, formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
Born April 19, 1940, in Jacksonville, Ill., he was the son of James "Mac" Laurance Sr. and Wilma Mayes McTee. On Feb. 14, 1963, he married Diane Twickham in Des Moines. They later divorced.
Mr. McTee worked at Trailways bus garage, Kenworth and owned and operated Larry's Service and Repair in Des Moines before moving to Salem, Mount Pleasant and later Fort Madison.
While he lived in Des Moines, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include one son, Steve McTee of Des Moines; one daughter, Julie McTee of Reno, Nev.; one grandson; and one sister, Cherokee Gardner of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m.
The funeral for Mr. McTee will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Beatty Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Morehouse officiating. Burial will be in North Wayne Township Cemetery
near Olds.

Mildred Richcreek
Mildred V. Richcreek, 88, of the Klein Center in Burlington, formerly of Wichita, Kan., died at 8:46 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born Oct. 2, 1915, in Salt Lake City, she was the daughter of Andrew and Edith Sheridan De Vore. On Nov. 24, 1932, she married Mayo S. Richcreek in Wichita. He died June 6, 1998.
Mrs. Richcreek was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Wichita. She enjoyed painting, crafts, reading, knitting and sewing.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Marie Corder of Burlington; one son, Jerry Dale Richcreek of Wichita; seven grandchildren; 14 great–grandchildren and three great–great–grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 23, at the Hillside West Funeral Home in Wichita from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The local funeral for Mrs. Richcreek will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of the Hass–Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington with the Rev. Dennis G. Tevis officiating.
A subsequent funeral for Mrs. Richcreek will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Swope officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery
in Wichita.
A memorial has been established for the Bethel Baptist Church.
Mary Allen
Mary Catherine Allen, 89, of Monmouth, Ill., died at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Monmouth Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 27, 1914, in Crawfordsville, Ind., she was the daughter of Ernest J. and Lulu B. Knox McClellan. On Sept. 17, 1987, she married Leland F. Allen in Monmouth.
Mrs. Allen worked at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago for 39 years as a bookkeeper, receptionist and in the accounting department. She later worked as a dental assistant in Chicago for 23 years.
She was raised and educated in Montgomery County, Ind., through high school. She also attended Moody Bible Institute and Northwestern College in Minneapolis. Her home church was Somonauk United Presbyterian Church in Somonauk, Ill. She attended First Christian Church in Monmouth and also attended Gerlaw Christian Church. She loved animals and bird watching.
Survivors include her husband; one stepson, Les G. Allen of Monmouth; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat–grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one nephew, one niece and one stepson.
Visitation will be Wednesday and Thursday until the time of service at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. There will be no family visitation.
The graveside service for Mrs. Allen will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Monmouth Cemetery , with the Revs. James Epperson and Paul Lydic officiating.
Memorials have been established for First Christian Church in Monmouth and Gerlaw Christian Church.
Michael Vantiger
Michael D. Vantiger, 45, of Frisco, Colo., formerly of Denmark, died in Buckeye, Ariz.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Link Funeral Home, West Point.
Marian Fritz
Marian Ruth Fritz, 79, of West Burlington, died at 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Burlington Care Center.
Born Feb. 18, 1925, in rural Burlington, she was the daughter of George L. and Lillian Long Taeger. On April 29, 1947, she married Duane R. Fritz in West Burlington. He died Sept. 14, 2001.
Mrs. Fritz was a homemaker.
She was a member of SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church in West Burlington, Hawkeye Natives, Railroad Veterans Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to bake, cook and garden.
Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Holmes of Burlington, Marie Fritz of West Burlington and Jackie Schierbrock of West Point; nine grandchildren; three great–grandchildren; and one brother, Cleo Taeger of Stockport.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one brother.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends following a 6:30 p.m. Christian wake service to 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.
The Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Fritz will be at 10 a.m. Friday at SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery
in West Burlington.
