Jack Tabor
BALDWIN, Iowa -- Memorial services for Jack H. Tabor, of Baldwin, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ, Maquoketa. No visitation will be held. Burial will be in Pence Cemetery , rural Baldwin. Mr. Tabor died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa. Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, is in charge of arrangements. He had farmed the family farm and was known for his innovative and alternative farming practices. He was born Feb. 28, 1924, in rural Baldwin. He married Shirley Burkland in 1949 in Chicago. During World War II, he served in the Army. Memorials may be made to Jack H. Tabor Memorial Fund. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Anne Tabor, Iowa City, and Mary Tabor, Des Moines; sons, Paul, Dubuque, and Eric, Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.

Edwin Schreiber
WILTON, Iowa -- Edwin M. Schreiber, of Wilton, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at Wilton Care Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church, Wilton. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday at Pinelawn Cemetery , Wilton. Visitation is 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton, and one hour before the service Sunday at the church. Mr. Schreiber was the superintendent of schools at Wilton Community School District for 12 years. He retired in 1977. Before that, he was superintendent at Agency and Newhall. He also taught at LaGrande and Wellman. He was born May 11, 1915, in Lacona. He married Ruth Queste in 1940 in Delaware, Iowa. She died in 1995. He served four years in the Air Force. Memorials may be made to the church or Zion Lutheran School Building Fund. Survivors include sisters, Ann Raetz, Wauwatosa, Wis., and Ruth Ranzau and Esther Heitshusen, both of Williamsburg; a brother, Otto, Mayville, Wis.; and longtime caregiver, Ila Nieman, Wilton.

Alyce Barrett
CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Alyce G. Barrett, of Clinton, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery , Clinton. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home, Clinton, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Barrett died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center-South Campus, Clinton. She was a registered nurse. She later was employed as Clinton County deputy treasurer. She retired in 1971. Alyce Watters was born Sept. 18, 1907, in Petersville. She married Ray Kane in 1935 in Clinton. He died in 1951. She married Donald Barrett in 1957. He died in 1982. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Mary Watters, DeWitt; and a brother, James Watters, Whittier, Calif.

Ervin Jargo, 102
TEEDS GROVE, Iowa -- Ervin A. Jargo, of rural Teeds Grove, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Sabula. Burial will be in Teeds Grove Cemetery . Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Jargo farmed in partnership with his twin brother, Marvin, and a sister, Alta, in the Teeds Grove area. He retired in 1978. He was born Dec. 24, 1896, in Teeds Grove. Survivors include a niece, Miriam Stockham, Maquoketa; and nephews, Charles and Bob Jargo, both of rural Clinton.

Beverly Jean Senatra
MOLINE -- Private family services for Beverly Jean Senatra, of Moline, will be Tuesday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Senatra died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in Newburg, N.D., while on vacation. Beverly Worrell was born June 19, 1934, in Patch Grove, Wis., the daughter of Omer and Florence (Jeidy) Worrell. She married Joseph P. Senatra on May 11, 1957, in Rock Island. She was co-owner of Senatra TV and Appliances, Milan, Ill., for 35 years. She enjoyed cooking, canning and playing cards with her friends. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Survivors include her husband, Joseph P. Senatra, Moline; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Mark Tomlinson, Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Alesia Senatra, Moline; grandchildren, Logan and Paige Senatra, Alyse, Tyler and Carly Tomlinson; and a close friend and godmother to her children, Mary Hardin.

Thomas Enright
FULTON, Ill. -- Mass of resurrection for Thomas J. Enright, of 1227 2nd Ave., will be 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulton. The Rev. Kenneth Anderson will officiate. Casket bearers will be John, Brett, Andy, Jamie, Dustin and Philip Enright, and Mike, Brian and Steve Sewart. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery , Fulton. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Fulton Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Mr. Enright died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at his home. He was employed as a Star Route rural mail carrier. After military service, he was engaged in farming in rural Whiteside County until moving to Fulton in 1983. He was born March 9, 1909, in Erie, to Thomas J. and Maude (Edwards) Enright. He married Marian M. Plunkett on May 21, 1938, in Fulton. During World War II, he served in the Army's Signal Corps. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulton; and a former member of Fulton Country Club. He was an avid White Sox, Notre Dame and Illini fan, and he enjoyed bird watching. Memorials may be made to Mass offerings. Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Tom Sewart, Mequon, Wis.; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Sandy Enright, Scottsdale, Ariz., Jim and Karen Enright, Bettendorf, and Steve and Donna Enright, Port Byron, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Flossie Mose, Port Byron, and Erma and William Mathews, Prophetstown; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Enright, Erie, Raymond and Amy Enright, Erie, Edgar and Eleanor Enright, Rock Falls, Wayne and Peggy Enright, Mount Prospect, and Marvin and Betty Enright, Scales Mounds. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Thompson, Irene Quick, Ruby Sterenberg and Mildred Hicks, and a brother, Donald Enright.

Alvera Carlsen
MOLINE -- Graveside services for Alvera E. Carlsen, formerly of Moline, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery . Visitation is 6-7 p.m. Monday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Mrs. Carlsen died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Forest Hill Health Care Center, East Moline. Alvera Anderson was born Dec. 10, 1899, in Moline, the daughter of Oscar E. and Maria Peal Anderson. She married Alfred T. Carlsen on Oct. 16, 1923, in Moline. He died in 1962. She had been employed at the Velie Motor Co. prior to her marriage. She had been a seamstress, and wove rugs on a loom. She loved reading and walking. Memorials may be made to Forest Hill Health Care Center. Survivors include a daughter, Coralie Robinson, Culver City, Calif.; a son, Vern Carlsen, East Moline; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Wayne Kraft
MUSCATINE, Iowa --Services for Wayne M. Kraft, of rural Muscatine, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Blue Grass Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Blue Grass Cemetery . Visitation is 2-7 p.m. today at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Mr. Kraft died on Friday, Oct. 8, l999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. He farmed in Muscatine County for 57 years. He was born June 5, 1922, in Lena, Ill. He married Valerie Best in 1944 in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Montpelier Fire Department and to the Blue Grass Legion. Survivors include his wife, Valerie, Muscatine; daughters, Gloria Groenwoldt, Davenport, Linda Smith, Walcott, and Joni Becker, Monroe, Neb.; sons, Wayne, Davenport, Richard, Dale, Wis., Jerry, Rock Island, and Scott, Daggett, Calif.; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Helen Koning, Bernice Perkins and Blanche Rhea, all of Freeport, Ill., and Isadore Hybarger, Rockford, Ill.; and brothers, Glenn, Omer, Orio, Alvin, and Elwin, all of Freeport, Ill.

Juanita Selhost
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Juanita A. Selhost, of Rock Island, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Selhost died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. She was a homemaker. Juanita Wickenburg was born May 27, 1916, in Rock Island. She married Chester Selhost in 1934. Memorials may be made to the Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Cleo Royal and Vicki Selhost, both of Rock Island, and Vearl Selhost, Milwaukee; a son, Dale Selhost, Moline; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Wickenburg, Milan.

Glenn Leffler
ALEDO, Ill. -- Services for Brian Leffler, of Aledo, will be 12:30 p.m. Monday at Andalusia Cemetery . There is no visitation. Mr. Leffler died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at his home. Family Funeral Services, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements. He had worked as a forge machine operator for 31 years for Jon Deere Plow Planter, retiring in 1978. Mr. Leffler was born May 7, 1926, in Ottumwa, Iowa. He served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include daughters, Kathy Stevens, Denver, and Beth Anderson, Texas; sons, Brian, Aledo, and Bruce, Texas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Pearson, Taylor Ridge, Helen Mosher, Rock Island, and Shirley Wilson, Sherrard; and a brother, Donald, Milan.

May Moore
ROCK ISLAND -- Memorial services for May Moore, of Rock Island, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Peace, Rock Island. There will be a private family burial at a later date. There is no visitation. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Moore died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at River Park Nursing Home, Rock Island. May Brown was born Oct. 15, 1902, in Rock Island. She married Darrell Moore in 1939 in Mayfield, Ky. He died in 1980. Memorials may be made to the Church of Peace, Rock Island. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Moore, Rock Island; a son, Darrell Moore, Rock Island; two step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Margaret Ernst
BELLEVUE, Ill. --Margaret A. Ernst, of Bellevue, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery . Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. today at Kingery Funeral Home, Bellevue, with a scripture service 6 p.m. She had worked at the Bellevue Post Office, was a parish secretary at St. Joseph's Church and was the Deputy County Recorder for Jackson County, retiring in 1979. Margaret Dempewolf was born Feb. 20, 1911, in Bellevue. She married Lawrence Ernst in l944 in Bellevue. He died in 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Bonifas, Bellevue; a son, David Ernst, Dubuque; four grandchildren; and sisters, Lucille Sieverding, Bellevue and Ruth Deken, Qulin, Mo.

Gerald Walling
CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Gerald W. "Pete" Walling, of Clinton, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory, Clinton. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery , Clinton. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Walling died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at his home. He was employed as a working foreman and clerk for the Western Weighting and Inspection Bureau for 20 years, retiring in 1975. He had worked for a subdivision of all the railroads in the United States, but primarily for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Mr. Walling was born Jan. 13, 1913, in Clinton. He married Clarissa Danielsen in 1934 in Clinton. She died in 1986. Memorials may be made to The Pony's Express Riders of Iowa for Camp Sunnyside, Des Moines. Survivors include daughters, Sherry Brown, Clinton, and Jeanne Morales, Cordova, Ill.; sons, Fredrick and Lawrence, both of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Tom Salsbury
DAVENPORT -- Services for Tom Salsbury, of Burnsville, Minn., formerly of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Tom died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, after a brief illness and battle with cancer. Tom taught art and was a coach at Assumption High School for several years. He then was employed as a sales representative for Mid-American Printing and Meyers Printing. Most recently, he was a marketing consultant at Rainmaker Marketing, a company he founded in Minnesota. He was born Oct. 15, 1947, in Davenport, to James F. and Loretta (Daley) Salsbury. He married Debbie Russell on Aug. 16, 1969, at St. Mary's Church, Davenport. Tom graduated from Assumption High School, Class of 1965. He graduated from St. Ambrose College, earning a bachelor of arts degree in arts in 1969. He was the president of the Executive Council of Parents at St. Ambrose University. On Oct. 2 of this year, he received the Alumni Service Award for his dedicated service to the university. Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose University Senior Challenge of 1999. Survivors include his wife, Debbie, Brunsville; a daughter, Sarah K. Salsbury, Sumner, Iowa; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Stephen Tubbs, Bettendorf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark J. and Karin Salsbury, Niceville, Fla., and James D. and Teresa Salsbury, Davenport; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loretta and James. May they rest in peace.

John Hopkins
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for John "Jerry" Hopkins, of Grandview, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Church, Muscatine. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Mr. Hopkins died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at his home. He had worked as a carpenter and as a new school building inspector for the state of California. He also was a stained glass artist and teacher and a cabinet maker. Mr. Hopkins was born on Oct. 19, 1918, in Muscatine. He married Mary Shelangoski in 1938 in Muscatine. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater of Operations. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iowa City. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Marsha Bartenhagen, Muscatine, and Sue Beeding, Grandview; sons, Tom Hopkins, Arroyo Grande, Calif., and Michael Hopkins, Newbury Park, California; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lola Larson
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Lola A. Larson, of Muscatine, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial will be in Illinois City Cemetery . Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Larson died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. Lola McGinnis was born Feb. 29, 1908, in Illinois City. She married Harry Sweigart in 1934 in Illinois City. She married Andrew Larson in 1973 in Nashua. A memorial fund has been established in her memory. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Lime, Defiance, Ohio; a step-son, John Sweigart, Ada, Ohio; 26 grandchildren; a sister, Bernadine Ripley, Muscatine; and a brother, Ralph McGinnis, Illinois City.

Lorraine Gollobit
SABULA, Iowa -- Services for Lorraine Gollobit, of Sabula, will be 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, Sabula. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery , Preston. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Sabula, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Gollobit died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. She had worked at the Russell Speaker Factory, Sabula. After retiring, she and her husband operated Luke's Marina, Sabula, for many years. Lorraine Myers was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Sabula. She married Lawrence Gollobit in 1946 in Sabula. He died March 10, 1999. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and three sisters-in-law.
