WEST BRANCH, Iowa -- Margery Gray, of West Branch, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Crestview Care and Rehabilitation Center, West Branch. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at West Branch United Methodist Church. Burial will be in West Branch Cemetery . Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at Barker Funeral Home, West Branch. She was employed at Johnson County Creamery, Iowa City. She later worked as a librarian at Iowa City Elementary School for many years. Margery Cornick was born Aug. 8, 1909, in Burlington. She married Bob Gray in 1939. Memorials may be made to the Cookson Home or Crestview Care Center. There are no immediate survivors.

Maxine Logan
MOLINE -- Maxine Logan, of Moline, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at her residence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Edna Maxine Gile was born April 6, 1918, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She married Willard Logan in 1940 in Marshalltown. Survivors include her husband, Willard; a son, John Logan, Naperville, Ill; two grandchildren; sisters, Betty Brown, Dayton, Ohio, Evelyn Ramsey, Des Moines, and Dorothy Coughlin, Mesa, Ariz.; and a brother, Charles Gile, Melrose, Iowa.

Stephen Bausch
COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa -- Services for Stephen L. Bausch, of Columbus Junction, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hope (Independent) Bible Church, Columbus Junction. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Mr. Bausch died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at his home. He was a farmer. He was born Sept. 25, 1907, in Cumberland, Wis. He married Mae Male in 1930. She died in 1974. He later married Sally Duffy in 1974 in rural East Moline. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home for the church and the Washington Hospice Program. Survivors include his wife, Sally; daughters, Hope Niffenegger, Louisville, Colo., Ruth McConnell, Sierra Vista, Ariz., Joyce Johnson, Waco, Texas, Carol Chatfield, Columbus Junction, Marilyn Percy, Sebring, Fla., and Susan Sturgis, Harrisonville, N.J.; sons, Ronald, Golden Colo., Douglas, Moline, Lester and Gary, both of Columbus Junction, Stephen Jr., Coralville, Phillip, Winona Lake, Ind., Lawrence, Wapello, and Jarrold, Jewitt City, Conn., stepsons, Donald Duffy, East Moline, and Ralph Duffy, Columbia Station, Ohio; 73 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a sister, Irene Clark, Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Maurice, Cedar Rapids.

Shirley Hintze
BETTENDORF -- Services for Shirley J. Hintze, of Bettendorf, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Mrs. Hintze died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at her home. She had been employed as a matron for the Bettendorf school system for 20 years. Shirley Eick was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Davenport. She married Lawrence Hintze in 1953 in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Genesis West Wound Center. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence, Bettendorf; daughters, Cheryl Stratmann, Davenport, and Linda Johnson, Bettendorf; and three grandchildren.

Erwin Niermeyer
CLARENCE, Iowa -- Services for Erwin L. Niermeyer, of Clarence, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery , Clarence. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence. Mr. Niermeyer died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, at Clarence Nursing Home. He had farmed and was a former seed corn dealer for Lynks. He was born Feb. 7, 1909, in rural Lowden. He married Lois Ebert in 1934 in Vernon, Colo. Survivors include his wife, Lois; a daughter, Patricia Dewell, Lowden; sons, Owen, Cedar Rapids, Kent, Waupaca, Wis., and Robert, Clarence; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert, Clarence; and a step-sister, Emogene Conrad, Clarence.

Malonie Lemburg
DAVENPORT -- Services for Malonie M. Lemburg, of Wheatland, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Visitation is two hours before the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Mrs. Lemburg died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Wheatland Manor. She had farmed 30 years in Cedar County, Iowa. She then worked 15 years at Oscar Mayer Foods Corp., Davenport. Malonie Moeller was born July 3, 1910, in Oklahoma City. She married William Lerch in 1927. She married Harold Lemburg in 1950 in Davenport. He died in 1995. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Evangelical Church, Davenport. Survivors include a son, Marvin Lerch; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepsons; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Glen Linden
BETTENDORF -- Services for Glen L. "Jack" Linden, of Bettendorf, will be 2:30 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Mr. Linden died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in Lincoln, Neb., while attending his grandson's wedding. He was a share owner in Jim Otis and Associates, Moline, where he retired from in 1982. Before that, he worked 18 years at Honeywell and at the former Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Co. Glen was born April 5, 1925, in Centerville, Iowa, to Glen and Mildred (Cook) Linden. He married Maxine Riepe on Dec. 12, 1944, in Davenport. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps. During World War II, he served as a warrant officer in the Pacific. He was past president of Instrument Society of America. Glen was a private pilot. He enjoyed camping and fishing and was an avid boater. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Donna Linden, Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a grandson and spouse, Jeffrey and Mindy Linden; a granddaughter and spouse, Dawn and Michael Kahler; and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Kahler.

Theresa Henry
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Theresa M. Henry, of East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Henry died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at her home. Theresa was born Oct. 1, 1951, in Moline, to Andrew A. Poelvoorde and Rose M. (Schatteman) Poelvoorde-Van De Wiele. She married James P. Henry on June 28, 1975, in East Moline. She attended Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline. She was a Harley- Davidson fan and enjoyed motorcycling. She loved her family. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Meghan, at home; her parents; sisters and brother-in-law, Susan M. and Robert Krutsinger, East Moline, and Kaye L. Poelvoorde, Rock Island; and a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Tracy Poelvoorde, Pocatello, Idaho.

Albert Loete
MOLINE -- Services for Albert James Loete, of 3605 34th Ave., will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, and 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery , East Moline. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a Christian wake service at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Loete died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at his home with his wife and children around him. He was employed at John Deere Harvester and retired in 1992 after almost 37 years of service. He was born April 23, 1937, in Moline, to Albert A. and Lois (Suiter) Loete. He lived in Moline his entire life. He married Joan Waline on Sept. 22, 1956. They had four children. Al's family was very important to him. He loved his children and grandchildren. He was very involved in his children's activities when they were growing up. He was a member of Dads Club and PTA and served as president of the Moline Boys Choir parents and Coolidge Band parents. He also was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years and was a Junior Achievement adviser. He was president most recently of the Center for Belgian Culture and treasurer of Olde Towne Business Association. He also was a member of the Suiter Family Association. He was a member of Christ the King Church and served as president of the parish council, and was a lector and cantor. The 8 o'clock Mass goers at Christ the King Church will miss his singing on Sunday mornings, but what a wonderful voice to add to the choir of heaven! He loved classical music and poetry and enjoyed golf and bowling. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. He had a beautiful singing voice and sang in barbershop choruses and quartets. Memorials may be made to Center for Belgian Culture or the church. Survivors include his wife; children and spouse, David and Darcy Loete, Lynne and Glenn Collier and Sharon Loete, all of Moline, and Matt and Gina Loete, Normal, Ill.; grandchildren, Eric Diehl, Angie Diehl, Stephanie Loete, Kristin Collier, Joseph Collier, Amanda Busboom, Lindsay Loete, Rebecca Loete and Dane Loete; a step-grandson; two step-great-grandchildren; his mother, Lois Loete; sisters, Laura Rummans, Sherrard, Ill., and Mary Meier, Las Cruces, N.M.; and brothers, Lawrence, Apple Canyon, and William, Moline. He was preceded in death by his father and a great-grandchild.

Marguerite Grimm
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Marguerite F. Grimm, of Muscatine, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory, Muscatine. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. Visitation is 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Grimm died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. She retired in 1970 as a kindergarten teacher at Grant Elementary School. She also owned and operated Marguerite's Gift Shop, downtown Muscatine, until 1950. Marguerite Kirchner was born June 28, 1908, in Nichols, Iowa. She married Edward Grimm. They owned and operated the Dairy Freez on Grandview Avenue and later Stewart Road. He died in 1993. Survivors include daughters, Lila Wagner and Bonnie Guynn; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Eva Clark
DURANT, Iowa -- Services for Eva K. Clark, of Tulsa, will be 4 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Tulsa. Burial will be in Durant Cemetery . Mrs. Clark died Sept. 19, 1999, in Tulsa. Eva Schneekloth was born Feb. 5, 1914, in Stockton. She married Mr. Clark in 1942 in Missouri. He died in 1995. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice, Tulsa, or the church. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Keeler, Tulsa; sons, John Clark-Johnson, Woodstock, and Thomas Clark, Tulsa; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Margaret Burch
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for Margaret E. Burch, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Kewanee, will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mount Olivet Cemetery , Kewanee. The body was cremated. No visitation will be held. Mrs. Burch died May 18, 1999, in Scottsdale. Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home Inc., Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements. She had worked at Empire Clothing Co., Kewanee. Margaret Bumphrey was born July 12, 1924, in Neponset. Survivors include nieces, Kay VanStechelman and her spouse, Bud, Scottsdale, with whom she resided, and Donna Weber, Elmira.

Dr. Jeffrey Smith
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Dr. Jeffrey S. Smith, of 1606 Young Ave., died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at his home. Private services will be held. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Dr. Smith was a doctor of dental surgery. He had practiced since 1990 in Muscatine. He was born Dec. 11, 1963, in Muscatine. Memorials may be made to Muscatine Humane Society. Survivors include his parents; sisters, Dr. Melinda Smith and Demetria Smith, both of Muscatine; and grandparents, Theodore and Nan Smith, Muscatine.

James Glenn
MOLINE -- Services for James H. Glenn, of Moline, will be 1 p.m. today at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Mr. Glenn died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Rosewood Health Care Center, Moline. He retired in 1982 as a fork lift operator after 25 years at Williams-White & Co., Moline. He was born July 15, 1924, in Hamilton, Ala. He married Betty Webb in 1955 in Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Brenda Downing, East Moline, Susan King, Davenport, and Laurie Keehn, Moline; sons, James Parks, Colona, Ill., James and Steve Glenn, both of Moline, and Don Glenn, Sioux City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Robert Klingman
DAVENPORT -- Memorial services for Robert D. Klingman, of Davenport, will be 2:30 p.m. today at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation is one hour before the service. Inurnment will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Mr. Klingman died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. He was employed as a machinist at various machine shops in Davenport and the Chicago area. He was born Aug. 30, 1941, in Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include his mother, Catherine Gleize, Davenport; and sisters, Deborah Klingman, Davenport, with whom he resided, Marcia Link, Davenport, Terri Gleize, Donahue, Iowa, Kathy Fletchall, O'Fallon, Mo., and Gayle Thor, Chicago.

Angeline Manahl
MOLINE -- Services for Angeline A. Manahl, of 3408 14th St., will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, and 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery , East Moline. Mrs. Manahl died Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, at her home. Angeline Althaus was born Dec. 26, 1904, in Dubuque, Iowa. She married Arthur Manahl in 1926 in Springfield, Ill. He died in 1975. Memorials may be made to VNHA or Beacon of Hope Hospice. Survivors include two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Matilda "Tillie" Reuter, Dubuque.

Frances Brown
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Frances A. Brown, of Kewanee, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Kewanee Hospital. Services and burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, rural Kewanee. No visitation will be held. Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker. Frances Ohlich was born Sept. 26, 1912, in Leavenworth, Kan. She married James Brown in 1936 in Kewanee. He died in 1956. Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Kewanee. Survivors include daughters, Sharon Sturm, Kewanee, and Pat Pershey, Kirksville, Mo.; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
