CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Esther Holdorf Welch, of San Marcos, Texas, formerly of Clinton, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation is 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery , Clinton. Mrs. Welch died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, in San Marcos. She was employed as a secretary at Collis Co. and later as a sales clerk at Petersen Harned Von Maur department store. Esther Holdorf was born Jan. 11, 1904, in Clinton County. She married Floyd Welch. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two nieces and three nephews, including Thomas Leahy, Albany, Ill.

Anna Schoff
LOWDEN, Iowa -- Anna L. Schoff, of Lowden, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden. Burial will be in Lowden Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, and 1 p.m. until time of service Sunday at the church. Mrs. Schoff taught country school for eight years, owned Schoff's Cafe in Lowden for 20 years and was employed for more than 30 years as a part-time clerk at Chapman Furniture, Lowden. Anna Von Roden was born May 19, 1907, in Cedar County. She married Francis Schoff in 1930 in Lowden. He preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ Sunday School. Survivors include a brother, Elmer Von Roden, Cedar Rapids.

Roy Kindler
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Roy W. Kindler, of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, Pa., will be 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. Mr. Kindler died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Meadville Medical Center, after a brief illness. Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine, is in charge of local arrangements. He retired in 1979 after 33 years at H. J. Heinz Co. He was born May 27, 1914, in Muscatine. He married Wilma Hubble in 1935 in Muscatine. She died in 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Karole Felts, Los Alamos, N.M.; a son, William, Cambridge Springs, Pa.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Aileen Jones
MINERAL, Ill. -- Services for Aileen M. Jones, of Mineral, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sheffield. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery , Geneseo. Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today at Sheffield Chapel, Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services. A rosary will be recited 5 p.m. today at the church. Mrs. Jones died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Ensley Care Home, Kewanee. She worked 28 years at Calvert Tax, Kewanee, doing income taxes. She also served 20 years as a clerk of Mineral. Aileen Gray was born Nov. 19, 1931, in Altoona, Pa. She married Dennis Jones in 1951 in Kewanee. He died in 1988. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church Stainglass Window Fund or a favorite charity. Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Collins, Calhoun, Ga., and Marianne Struble, Valparaiso, Ind.; sons, Dennis, Hooppole, David, Mineral, and Douglas, Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marguerite Tutor, Kewanee, Erma Hermanson, Titusville, Fla., Joan Strittmatter, Patton, Pa., Jane Gormish, Spangler, Pa., Nancy Chelednik, Pittsburgh, and Dorothy Plouse, Carrolltown, Pa.; and a brother, Don Gray, Alma, Ark.

Helen Siegenthaler
COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- Services for Helen F. Siegenthaler, of Coal Valley, formerly of Freeport, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Oakland Cemetery , Freeport. Mrs. Siegenthaler died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline, is in charge of arrangements. Helen Garrow was born May 28, 1913, in Savanna. She married Alfred Siegenthaler in 1934 in Mount Carroll. He died in 1984. Survivors include a son, Lyle E., Illinois City; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Clara Evans, Jessup, Iowa; and a brother, Joseph Garrow Jr., Galena.

Virginia O'Brien
MILAN, Ill. -- D. Virginia O'Brien, of Milan, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at her home. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Saturday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. The body will be cremated. Private inurnment will be later in Riverside Cemetery , Moline. Mrs. O'Brien was employed at the former St. Anthony's Hospital in the outpatient office and later at the former Franciscan Hospital in the outpatient and business office. She retired in 1985 after more than 30 years of employment. Virginia Forslund was born June 7, 1918, in Moline. She married Hugh O'Brien in 1939 in Moline. Memorials may be made to Illinois Heart Association. Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne O'Brien, Coyne Center, Ill.; sons, Michael, Los Alamitos, Calif., William, Moline, and David, Rock Island; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Forslund, Moline.

Ethel Booty
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Ethel Booty, of Warren, Ore., formerly of Rock Island and Midland, Ark., will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island. The Rev. Donald Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Booty died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in Warren. She was employed 22 years at International Logistics, Rock Island Arsenal. She retired in 1977. Ethel Barenthin was born March 20, 1917, in Rock Island, to Stephen and Blanche (King) Barenthin. She married Ira Booty. He died this year. She graduated in 1934 from Rock Island High School. Memorials may be made to Hospice Program. Survivors include sons, Herbert D. Reid, Las Vegas, Larry K. Reid, Warren, and Leonard Reid, Wildwood, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Cheryl Scott, Rock Island; stepsons, Jay Woods, Lancaster, Pa., Mike Woods, Rock Island, and Robert Booty, Oshkosh, Pa.; a nephew, King Barenthin, LaPorte, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by husbands, Ernest Reid, in 1936, and Joseph A. Woods, in 1985.

MOLINE -- Services for Harvey C. Ingemunson, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Moline, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is noon until the time of services. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis. Mr. Ingemunson died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, in Clearwater. He retired in 1969 after 33 years with International Harvester, East Moline. He was born May 17, 1909, in Somanauk, Ill. He married Ava Bruce in 1936 in Moline. She died in 1975. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Survivors include a daughter, Shari Steivang, Fontana, Wis.; four granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

EAST MOLINE -- Services for Donna M. Markin, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of East Moline, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery , Hampton Township. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Markin died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Mesa, Ariz. She had been employed at Lucianni's Restaurant, Rapids City, Ill., and the Project NOW meal site. Donna Davidson was born March 23, 1921, in Washington County, Iowa. She married Raymond Markin in 1946. Survivors include sons, Donald, Colona, and David, Lynn Center; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Patterson and Lena Houseal, both of Washington, Iowa; a brother, James Davidson, Columbia, Neb.; and her companion, Paul "Swede" Carlson.

Max Altiser
BLUE GRASS, Iowa -- Services for E. Max Altiser, of Blue Grass, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery , Buffalo. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Mr. Altiser died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at his home. He retired after 27 years with Ralston Purina, Davenport. He was born June 28, 1915, in Princeton, Mo. He married Marjorie Thies in 1947 in Rock Island. She died in 1993. He served in the Army during World War II. Memorials may be made to Community Fellowship, Blue Grass. Survivors include a daughter, Sally Gluesing, Davenport; a son, Jerry, Walcott; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline Taylor, Concordia, Mo.

Terry Elmore
MOLINE -- Memorial services for Terry E. Elmore, of Peoria, Ill., formerly of the Quad-City area, will be 4 p.m. Saturday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Elmore died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at his home. He was employed at Castle Lodge, Peoria. He was born Sept. 11, 1958, in Davenport. He married Rose M. Johnston on July 1, 1995, in Moline. He was a member of the Salvation Army. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jamie L. Elmore, Moline; a son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Leah Elmore, Moline; his mother, Pauline Bryan, Rock Island; grandchildren, Christian and Lauryn Elmore; and sisters, Shirley Ealy, Rock Island, and Melody Kohler, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Alice Gretchen Anderberg
MOLINE -- Alice Gretchen Anderberg, of St. Pete Beach, Fla., formerly of Moline, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Pasadena Manor, South Pasadena, Fla. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery , Orion, Ill. Alice Gretchen Groff was born Feb. 12, 1910, in rural Gurnsey, Iowa. She married Ralph "Doc" Fix in 1927 in Moline. He died in 1946. She married Ivar Anderberg in 1947 in Davenport. He died in 1995. Memorials may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Survivors include a daughter, Bona Hilton, Milan; sons, Stanley Anderberg, St. Pete Beach, and Robert Fix, Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

COLONA, Ill. -- Ernest L. Green, of Colona, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. There will be no services. The body will be cremated. Family Funeral Services, Colona, are in charge of arrangements. Mr. Green was born July 19, 1936, in Xenia, Ohio. Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Price, Lillian, Ky.; a son, John, Monroe, Mich.; five grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Simons, Springfield, Ohio, Martha Moore and Mary Musteller, both of Janestown, Ohio; and brothers, Howard Ward, Lake City, Fla., Orville Green Jr., Springfield, Ohio, Raymond Green and Eddie Green, both of Xenia, Ohio; and a special friend, Elsie Rogers, Colona.

Rosemary Robinson
DAVENPORT -- Services for Rosemary A. Robinson, of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal, with military services conducted by American Legion Post 26. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with prayers recited at 5:30 p.m. Ms. Robinson died Thursday, Oct. 14, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. She was employed by the Social Security Administration in Davenport until her retirement in June 1989. She was born Sept. 10, 1924, in Peoria, Ill., to Edward J. and Mary Ellen (Brettner) Lyons. During World War II, she served in the WAVES. Most recently she was president of the local WAVES chapter. She also was a member of the WAVES National and National Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed art, music and writing. She also had a great interest in seeing that the Women's Veterans Memorial Wall was built in Washington, D.C. Memorials may be made to WAVES National. Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward J. and Barbara Lyons, Davenport, and Bernard A. and Louise Lyons, Goreville, Ill.; 23 nieces and nephews; and 30 grandnieces and grandnephews. Her parents and her older sister, Mary June Lyons, preceded her in death.

CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Mary M. Goulden, of the Skilled Care Unit at Mercy Medical Center South, formerly of 867 6th Ave. N., Clinton, will be 11 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery , Clinton. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Friday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, with a vigil at 6 p.m. Mrs. Goulden died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton. She had worked at A.C. Nielsen, Clinton, and was employed in Battle Creek, Mich., and at Langley Field in Virginia. Mary Clark was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Clinton. She married John Goulden in 1943 in Clinton. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Gloria Ottens, Rolling Meadows, Ill., and Sue Oestreich, Clinton; a son, Edward J., Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jane VanHorn, Clinton.

MOLINE -- Patricia Ann York, of 725 21st. St. A, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. A funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline, with prayers at 9:30 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, with a rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. Patricia Ann O'Neil was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Moline, to Bernard and Anna Louise (Cooper) O'Neil. She married Virgil L.York on Dec. 29, 1956, in Moline. He died Jan. 15, 1990. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline, where she was a member. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Michael DeSmet, Moline, Karen Carlson, Aurora, Ill., Kristine and Harold Long, Moline, and Kolleen Liedtke, Moline; sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Chris York, Grundy Center, Iowa, Brian York, Phoenix, Barry and Lisa York, Dubuque, Iowa, and Bernard and Mai-Ly York, San Francisco; 16 grandchildren; and sisters and a brother-in-law, Marguerite Chambers, Chicago, and Jeannie and Curt Damp, Louisville, Ky. She worked five years at Brach's Candies, Davenport, and then three years at Hasty-Tasty. Marian Faranda was born Aug. 24, 1932, in Rock Island. She married Gerald Keller Sr. in 1966 in Missouri.
