Anna Johnson
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Annamma "Anna" Johnson, of 104 Sterling Woods Court, will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church, 517 Sycamore St., Muscatine. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park. A luncheon will be held at Grace Lutheran Church following the committal. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. today at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. Mrs. Johnson was born on Feb. 4, 1925, in Kerala, India. She married Joshua Johnson in 1950 in India. He died in 1995. She was a principal of a high school in India before her marriage, and later was a homemaker. Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include daughters, Valsa Sara Thomas, India, and Rani Mary Thomas, and Mercy Philip, both of Muscatine; four grandchildren; and special friends, Joe Nietzel, Robert and Gertrude Gallagher, and Jelma and Anil Varghese.

Kevin Kieler
LONG GROVE, Iowa -- Services for Kevin E. Kieler, a resident of Long Grove, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kieler, Wis. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation locally will be 7-9 p.m. today at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Long Grove. There will be a vigil service at 7p.m. Additional visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Casey Funeral Home, Cuba City, Wis. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of local arrangements. Kevin died on Friday Oct. 21, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, following injuries received in an accident in Long Grove. Kevin E. Kieler was born Jan. 27, 1953, in Dubuque, the son of Edward Charles and Berniece Mary (Abing) Kieler. He was a graduate of Dubuque Wahlert High School. He had been employed by John Deere, Davenport Works, for twenty-five years. He currently was involved with Management Services. Kevin lived life to the fullest. His greatest love was his daughter and son. He was the type of person who would do anything for anybody. He enjoyed working on all types of John Deere tractors, and with his friends rebuilt many of them over the years. He was on the Planning and Zoning Board in Long Grove. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish. Memorials can be made to a Educational Fund for his children. Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Kieler; and a son, Ben Kieler, both of Long Grove; his mother, Berniece Kieler-Kaiser, Kieler, Wis.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwaine C. and Mary Rose Kieler, Oregon, Wis.; sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Jo Kieler, Brookfield, Wis., Sharon Kaiser, Dickeyville, Wis. and Lori and Dave Freese, East Dubuque, Ill.; stepsisters and their spouses, Joan and Matt Kieler, Hazel Green, Wis. and Mary Jo and Dave Brant, Kieler, Wis.; several aunts and uncles; and nine nieces and nephews; and 10 step nieces and step nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward C. Kieler. May they rest in peace. "Kevin was a gift to us all. He's given us many happy memories. His devotion to his family, friends, and community was unconditional. We will all miss his laugh, his smile, and his joy of life. His love for us all will be truly missed"

Marvin Kraft
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Marvin I. Kraft, of East Moline, will be 7 p.m. Monday at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Kraft was a Per Mar security guard at J.I. Case Company, Bettendorf. Previously he was a manger for 16 years at Cardinal Glass, Rock Island. He was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Mapleton, Iowa. He married Joan Jordan in 1946 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He served in the Army during World War II with the 33rd Tank Battalion and was honorably discharged in 1947. Memorials may be made to Bettendorf Christian Church or to the family. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Vicki Neiderhiser, Bloomsburg, Pa., and Julie Ann Mitchell, East Moline; six grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and a brother, Ray Kraft, Shingle Springs, Calif.

Shirley Leasch
BURLINGTON, Iowa -- Services for Shirley J. Leasch, of Burlington, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Asbury United Methodist Church, Burlington. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park. Visitation is 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Hass Funeral Home, Burlington, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Leasch died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Shirley Lihs was born Nov. 12, 1928, in Cairo, Iowa. She married Richard Leasch in 1959 in Quincy. He died in 1988. She was a homemaker. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include a daughter, Doddie Burgus, Mediapolis; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Samuels and Wanda Marshall, both of Wapello, Peggy Lowary, Webster City, and Baja Brown, Princeton, Iowa; and brothers, Dean Lihs, Bellville, Ill., Jackie Lihs, Cairo, and Donald Lihs, Columbus Junction.

John Loche
CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for John D. Loche, of 1501 Fairway Drive, Clinton, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery , Fond du Lac, Wis. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mr. Loche died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton. He had worked as a carman for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1972. After retirement, he worked for the Clinton County Solid Waste Agency for eight years. He was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Marshfield, Wis. He married Betty Monaghan in 1963 in Dubuque, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Survivors include his wife; and brothers, Robert and Harold, Milwaukee.

Jeanean McKee
MOLINE -- N. Jeanean McKee, of Moline, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Family Funeral Services, Reynolds, Ill. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery . Visitation is one hour prior to services. Mrs. McKee was a legal secretary. Jeanean McIntire was born March 18, 1947, in Moline. She married Jim McKee in 1992 in Moline. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kim Brinkman, Arlington Heights, Ill.; sons, Kary Keller, Coal Valley, Ill., and Jayson Ledford, Moline; stepdaughters, Christy Alafdro, Albuquerque, N.M. and Melinda Almonza, Moline; a stepson, Nathan McKee, Silvis; four grandchildren; sisters, Lorna, Cortez, Colo., and Barbara Verschoore, Taylor Ridge, Ill.; and a brother, Roger Elliott, Illinois City.

Marilyn O'Shea
DENVER -- Marilyn J. O'Shea, formerly of Davenport, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, in Denver. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery , Denver. She worked as a secretary for the Denver school systems. Marilyn Walker was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Mercer, Mo. She married George O'Shea in 1953 in Davenport. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Sandra Hannah and Kesha Coombs, both of Denver; sons, Tim O'Shea, Evergreen, and Lonnie Robertson, Murrieta, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Bishop, Hartsel; and a brother, Dennis Walker, Davenport.

Harold Peed
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Harold C. "Dude" Peed, of Kewanee, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, in Rock Island County from injuries recieved in a truck accident. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday. Inurnment will be in Floral Hill Cemetery , Neponset. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to services. He retired from Kewanee Fire Department, and was currently driving for Ince Scrap Yard in Kewanee. He was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Neponset. He married Arliss "Shorty" Sharer in 1958 in Kewanee. He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Cleaver, Kewanee; a son, Alan Peed, Galva; four grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Lindahl, Wyoming, Ill.; and his mother, Laura Peed, Kewanee.

Rex Rader
ALEDO, Ill. -- Rex L. Rader, of Aledo, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Pastor John Mattingly officiating. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery . Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, where memorials may be left for the American Cancer Society. He was born Sept. 7, 1928, in Muscatine, Iowa, a son of Lloyd and Ruth Seaton Rader. He received his education from the Joy schools and married E. Roberta Anderson on April 29, 1949, in Little York. He owned and operated the Rader Trucking Company and farmed in the Joy area, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Oakview Country Club, and was a former member of both Joy Volunteer Fire Department and Joy City Council. He is survived by his wife; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Christine Rader, Aledo; three grandchildren, Travis Rader, Antioch, Ryan Rader, Milwaukee, Crystal Rader, Aledo; three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Braesen and Celine Rader, all of Antioch: a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Georgia Rader, Aledo. He was preceded In death by his parents.

Myrl Stamp
SPRAGUEVILLE, Iowa -- Services for A. Myrl Stamp, formerly of Preston and Spragueville, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, Spragueville. Burial will be in Spragueville Salem Cemetery . Mrs. Stamp died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Bluff Terrace Nursing Home, Clinton, after a lengthy illness. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston. Myrl Flagel was born Oct. 2, 1915, near Andrew. She married Gerald Stamp in 1932 in Preston. He died in 1990. The couple famed in the Spragueville area for 44 years until retiring in 1986 to Preston. Survivors include daughters, Wanda Lee Ganzer, Spragueville, Marilyn Ehlers, Preston, and Janet Christy, Cedar Rapids; a son, Neville Stamp, Goose Lake; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Verna White, Banning, Calif.

George Stuart
SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Services for George V. Stuart, of Springfield, formerly of Rock Island, were held Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Union. Burial was in Hollywood Memorial Cemetery , Union. Visitation was Wednesday at McCracken Funeral Home, Union. Mr. Stuart died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Overlook Hospital, Summit. He had worked at Gillman Manufacturing Co., Rock Island. After moving to New Jersey in 1955, he owned and operated various restaurants in Union. He was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Quincy, Ill. He married Patricia McKenrick. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deborah Stuart, Elizabeth; sons, Michael, Manahawkin, and Gary, Springfield; five grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Baker, Moline; and a brother, William, Moline.

Hazel Swanson
VIOLA, Ill. -- Services for Hazel I. Swanson, of Peoria, formerly of Viola, will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Viola United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery . Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Family Funeral Services, Viola. Mrs. Swanson died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. Hazel Cooper was born May 6, 1917, in Almyra, Ark. She married Herbert Swanson in 1945 in Chicago. He died in 1995. She was a homemaker. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Swanson, Peoria; a son, Rodney, Arlington Heights; and four grandchildren.

Warren Way
UTICA, Ill. -- Services for Warren F. Way, of Utica, formerly of the Henry and Varna areas, were held Thursday at Antioch Christian Cemetery , Toluca. Winterrowd-Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Way died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator. He was self-employed contractor. He was born Dec. 13, 1932, in LaSalle. He married Ruby Tablock in 1976. She died in 1990. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Taylor, Deland, Fla.; sons, Raymond, Wray, Ga., Bryan, Mashpee, Mass., and Stuart, Deland; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Yvonne Shaw, Davenport; and a half brother, James Hanson, Ridgeview, Iowa.

Helen Wulf
DAVENPORT -- Services for Helen J. Wulf, of Windham, Ohio, formerly of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davenport Memorial Park. Services in Ohio will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, Warren, Ohio, with visitation 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Ohio. Runge Mortuary & Crematory, Davenport, is in charge of local arrangements. Mrs. Wulf died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at her home. She was employed at Sears, Roebuck & Co. In downtown Davenport for 17 years as head cashier, retiring in 1980. Helen Mace was born Oct. 13, 1917, in Andalusia, Ill. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northeast Ohio, 219 North River Road, Warren, Ohio 44483. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Hoy, Windham; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wilber Mace, Zellwood, Fla.

Clarence Gorzney
MORRISON, Ill. -- Mass of Resurrection for Clarence W. Gorzney, of Morrison, will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Morrison. Family prayer service will be 11:15 a.m. prior to services at Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Morrison. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery , Morrison. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a 8 p.m. vigil service. Mr. Gorzney died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Morrison Community Hospital. He was employed by Ross A. Bogott Plumbing, Morrison, for 22 years. Then he was a pipefitter for Local 25, Rock Island. He also owned and operated J&J Hard Surfacing, from 1969-1982. He was born May 14, 1931, in Aurora. He married June Bennett in 1952 in Morrison. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include his wife, June; daughters, Debra Porter, Morrison, Marie Gorzney, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carol Gustafson, Lakewood, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Morrissey, Amboy.

Hazel Hatfield
MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. -- Hazel Mae Hatfield, of Mount Carroll, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll. Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Monday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll, followed by a graveside service and interment at Savanna Township Cemetery , Savanna. Hazel worked in the housekeeping department at Shimer College, Mount Carroll, for many years. She always made her home with her niece, Sandy Rose, Mount Carroll. Hazel Hatfield was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Savanna. Survivors included brothers, George Hatfield, Tomah, Wis., James Hatfield, Silver Hill, Alabama, and Larry Hatfield, Quitman, Ark.

Arline G. 'Pat' Hance
Arvada. Colo. -- Arline G. "Pat" Hance, a resident of Springwood Retirement Home, Arvada, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Oct. 13, 1999, it Exempla Lutheran Hospital Hospice, Wheat Ridge, after an extended illness. A memorial service will be held at a later date for immediate family. The body was cremated. Morgan Mortuary, Arvada, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hance was born Jan. 22, 1909, in Davenport, to Mr. and Mrs. Irvin E. Renner, and was a lifelong resident of Rock Island. Arline G. Renner married Lloyd M. "Bud" Hance on July 30, 1927, in Rock Island. Mr. Hance was a well-known community figure who operated Hance & Hance Real Estate, retiring in 1973. Mrs. Hance was widowed in 1990. She was a housewife who enjoyed and took an active interest in affairs of her community. She actively participated and held office in PTA, Women's Club, Rock Island, YWCA and King's Daughters - Nightingale Circle. She was actively involved in the Rock Island chapter of the American Red Cross and spent many years as a volunteer at Franciscan Hospital helping in the pharmacy and public relations. She also knit hundreds of stocking caps for newborn babies at Franciscan Hospital. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rock Island. Among her many and varied interests, the most important were reading, the Quad-City Symphony Orchestra and knitting items for her great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice Care Endowment Fund, 8300 W. 38th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO, 80033, or to Pathway Hospice, 500 42nd St., Rock Island, IL, 61201. Survivors include a daughter, Marcia Schafer, Arvada; a son, Michael Hance, Muscatine, Iowa; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
