EAST MOLINE -- Services for Harry H. Hanna, of East Moline, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Weselyn Church, Rock Island. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, Ill. Mr. Hanna died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. He was employed at the former International Harvester Co., East Moline, for 34 years, retiring in 1982, as a set-up man. He was born Nov. 11, 1929, in Joslin, Ill. He married Paula Koehler in 1968 in Rock Island. A memorial fund is being established. During the Korean War, he served in the Army. Survivors include his wife; sisters, Helen Whitmore, Hillsdale, Ill., Nancy Wolf, Erie, Ill., and Mary Ropp, Geneseo, Ill.; and a brother, Charles Hanna, Moline.

Margaret Morrison
MOLINE -- Services for Margaret A. Morrison, of Moline, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Morrison died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at her residence. She was employed at International Harvester Works, East Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 1983. Margaret Kauffman was born April 1, 1925, in Princeton, Mo. She married Wes Morrison in1946 in Moline. A memorial fund will be established. Survivors include her husband, Wes; daughters, Linda Morrison, Geneseo, Ill., and Carol Helms, Aurora, Colo.; two granddaughters; sisters, Mary McKay, Moline, JoAnn Marx, Rock Island, and Louise Simmons, Milan, Ill.; and a brother, William Kauffman, of Sebring, Fla.

Elma Rich
MOLINE -- Services for Elma I. "Emmy" Rich, formerly of Moline, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hope United Church of Christ, 3324 41st St., Moline. Burial will be in Coal Valley Cemetery . Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Mrs. Rich died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. Elma Riley was born Dec. 5, 1914, in Hedrick, Iowa. She married John Rich in Clinton, Iowa. He died in 1981. She had managed a number of congregate meal sites at The First Congregational Church, Moline, and St. Johns Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Survivors include daughters, Della Findlay, Moline, Ruth Smith, Semoinole, Fla., Mary Wright, Warrensburg, Mo., and Sandra Palos, Coal Valley; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Icle Williams, Storm City, Iowa.

Edna Haack
PLEASANT VALLEY, Iowa -- Memorial services for Edna M. Haack, of Pleasant Valley, will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Buckingham Cemetery , Traer, Iowa. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Haack died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Riverview Manor, Pleasant Valley. Edna McGinnis was born July 31, 1903, in Traer. She married Ingwer Henry Haack in 1922 in Vinton. She had been a bookkeeper at Boetcher Furniture Store, Traer, retiring in 1956. Survivors include a granddaughter, Jacklyn Haack, Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Joel Haack, LeClaire, and Jay Haack, Indianapolis; four great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Clara Haack, Davenport.

Richard F. Tallman
DAVENPORT -- Richard F. Tallman, of Davenport, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at his home in Davenport, after a brief illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. He was born July 28, 1930, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Francis L. and Mary A. (Collins) Tallman. Richard Francis Tallman married Grace Ann Burlage on Nov. 16, 1963, in Cascade, Iowa. He was former owner of Dav-N-Rock Meat and Poultry, retiring Jan. 30, 1989. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus 532 and Loras General Assembly 4th Degree. Memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or Assumption High School. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Elizabeth Marie Tallman, Naperville, Ill., and Susan Tallman, Monmouth, Ill.; sons and daughters-in-law, David Lawrence Tallman and his wife, Colleen, Davenport, Thomas Joseph Tallman and his wife Amy, Bettendorf; sons, Steven Richard and William James Tallman, both of Davenport; a granddaughter, Allison Grace Tallman; a sister, Caroline Shirley, Fennimore, Wis.; and a brother, James Tallman, North Liberty, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his oldest daughter, Ann Frances Tallman, February of 1968.

Robert J. Stout
ROCK ISLAND -- Robert J. Stout, of 3136 36th Ave., Rock Island, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at his home. Memorials services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Inurnment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Mr. Stout was born June 2, 1953, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Robert and Margie (Livingston) Stout. He married Rebecca Gage on Oct. 18, 1975, in Urbana, Ill. Bob graduated from United Township High School in 1971. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa, his master's degree from the University of South Carolina and his Ph.D. in education from the University of Iowa. He was currently the registrar at Palmer College, Davenport, and previously served as a staff librarian. In earlier years, he served as a librarian at Ohio State University, Columbus, and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was a member of South Park Presbyterian Church, where he had served earlier as an elder, trustee and youth mentor. Mr. Stout was a volunteer for the United Way, a member of the Medical Library Association and loved sports and traveling. Memorials may be made to the church or to Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; daughters, Jane and Emily, both at home; his parents, Robert and Margie, Atkinson, Ill.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Gladys Gage, Rock Island; a sister-in-law, Suzann Gage, Los Angeles; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Laura and James Daab, Richmond, Va.; and a brother-in-law, Douglas Gage, Rock Island.

Dorothy Lindblom
DAVENPORT -- Services for Dorothy A. Lindblom, of Thayer, Kan., formerly of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, and one hour before the service Thursday at the church. Mrs. Lindblom died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, Chanute, Kan. She was employed at the former Petersen-Harned-Von Maur and at Northwest Bank, Davenport. Dorothy Beatty was born July 5, 1916, in Rockford, Ill., to Harry and Mabel (Palmer) Beatty. She married Raymond A. Lindblom in 1936 in Davenport. He died June 17, 1976. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine and its drill team and Thayer Methodist Church. In the 1950s, she was a "plane spotter" in Davenport. She was a member of Davenport High School "Class of 1934." She enjoyed the world around her and took special pleasure in nature. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association, Thayer Senior Citizens or Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Raye Louise "Duchess" and Gary Brown, Granite Bay, Calif., Patricia Keith and Harvey Tadewald, Moline, and Carolyn "Toby" and Larry Myers, Thayer; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; an aunt, Eudora "Babe" Bensch, Rock Island; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Daufeldt-Born.

Sister Laurent Nugent
DAVENPORT -- Services for Sister Mary Laurent Nugent, of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Humility of Mary Center chapel, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Humility of Mary Center, with a wake at 7 p.m. Sister Laurent died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Bishop Drum Care Center, Johnston, Iowa. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. She taught mathematics and science at St. Joseph High School, Fort Madison, Iowa; Catholic Central, Ottumwa, Iowa; Dowling High School, Des Moines; 20 years at Assumption High School, Davenport; Linehan High School, Marshalltown, Iowa; and Bourgade and Gerard high schools, both of Phoenix, Ariz. Sister retired to the Bishop Drum Care Center, Des Moines. Mary Louise Nugent was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Bettendorf. She entered the Congregation of the Humility of Mary in 1946 and made her final profession of vows in 1952. She served as a first specialist lieutenant in the Navy. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of Humility Retirement Fund. Survivors include sisters, Beth Abrahamsen, Aurora, Colo., Helen Franck, Moline, and Jeanne Robaidek, Madison, Wis.; and a brother, Ray Nugent, Grand Mound, Iowa.

William Farber Sr.
DAVENPORT -- William E. Farber Sr. of Davenport went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Nov. 8, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Assembly of God Church, Rock Island. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. He retired in 1987 from Rock Island Arsenal. He was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Davenport, to Earl and Lottie (Sharpe) Farber. He married Sarah Ernst on July 29, 1951, in Davenport. She died Nov. 2, 1992. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, Rock Island, and American Legion Post 154, Bettendorf. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Jeff Kerns, Bettendorf; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Vicki Farber, Davenport; grandchildren, Rebecca, Richard, Laura, Jonathan and Joy; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas William Farber, in 1954.

Virginia Hebbeln
DAVENPORT -- Virginia M. Hebbeln, of Davenport, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at her home. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Mrs. Hebbeln was employed at W.T. Grant Co., Davenport, before her retirement in 1974. Virginia Jefferson was born May 29, 1918, in Palmyra, Mo., to Clemence and Myrtle (Clauser) Jefferson. She married Donald Hebbeln on May 17, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, Davenport. Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dale Dietz, Davenport; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dietz, Davenport, and Tracy Grimes, Park View, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Melinda Dietz and Ricky and Cory Grimes; a sister, Mildred Sickmon, Monmouth, Ill.; and a brother, Lewis Jefferson, Monticello, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Jefferson, in 1970.

Marrytje Hill
DAVENPORT -- Marrytje C. Hill, of Davenport, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, after an extended illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at McGinnis, Chambers and Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday and one hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home. Marrytje Pekelharing was born Dec. 1, 1937, in Amsterdam, Holland, to Christiaan and Marrytje (Roos) Pekelharing. She married Hubert F. Hill on Aug. 9, 1956, in Amsterdam. She and her husband owned and operated HuMar Disposal Service in the Iowa Quad-Cities for 26 years. Among the things she enjoyed were shopping, traveling and flower gardening. Memorials may be made to Berean Baptist Church, Davenport where she attended. Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Alice Christine and Dennis Harris, Davenport; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jenny Hill, Davenport; grandchildren, Marrytje Harris, Carrie Baker and her husband, Tom, Christiaan Harris, Sarah Harris and Emily Hill, all of Davenport; a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Harris, Davenport; a brother and sister-in-law, Christiaan and Henny Pekelharing, Holland; and several nieces and nephews in Holland. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ko; and a sister, Gerda.

Vera Hinrichs
BETTENDORF -- Services for Vera M. Hinrichs, of Bettendorf, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Mrs. Hinrichs died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Vera McCauslin born Dec. 31, 1917, in Davenport. She married John Hinrichs in 1934 in Orion, Ill. He died June 22, 1999. Memorials may be made to Center for Active Seniors Inc. or Genesis Visiting Nurses. Survivors include daughters, Mary Byerly, Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Sherry Ragan, Pueblo, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marguerite Bearbower, Davenport.

Irvin McLaughlin
MOLINE -- Services for Irvin McLaughlin, of Moline, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. McLaughlin died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill. He retired in 1974 as an assembler after 34 years at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He was born Oct. 9, 1921, in Moline. He married Lorraine Jamieson in 1942 in Kahoka, Mo. During World War II, he served in the Army. In his youth, he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Betty Hagberg, Moline, Bonnie Wray, East Moline, and Becky Dexter, Taylor Ridge, Ill.; sons, William, Matherville, Ill., and Brian, Amesbury, Mass.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lewis Greim
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Lewis T. Greim, of Rock Island and Phoenix, Ariz., will be noon Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 10:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Greim died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at his home in Phoenix. He retired in 1972 as a Realtor at Harley Moorhusen Agency, Moline. Before that, he ran his family's apple orchard. He was born Jan. 30, 1916, in Moline. He married Dorothy Thompson Moore in 1966 in Mount Carroll, Ill. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Moline, or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower St., Phoenix, Ariz., 85014. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Nancy Cappaert, Moline; a stepdaughter, Donna Brostrom, Waukesha, Wis.; a grandson; a step-granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.

Burial will be in Carbon Cliff (Ill.) Cemetery . Mrs. Brumfield died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. She was employed in the housekeeping department at the Holiday Inn, Urbana, Ill. Verna McConaha was born June 3, 1946, in Champaign, Ill. She married Jackie Brumfield in 1980 in Urbana. Survivors include sisters, Nadine Wilkins, Bellflower, Ill., and Glenna Bullard, Rantoul, Ill.; and brothers, Ronald McConaha, Champaign, and Ernest McConaha, Rantoul.

John Medinger
REYNOLDS, Ill. -- Services for John J. Medinger, of Reynolds, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia. Family entombment will be 3:15 p.m. Friday at Calvary Cemetery mausoleum, Rock Island. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post 1166, Reynolds. Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today with a wake at 7:45 p.m. at the church. Mr. Medinger died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline, is in charge of arrangements. He was employed more than 40 years out of Carpenter's Local 166, Rock Island. He retired in 1981. He was born July 4, 1925, in Bellevue, Iowa. He married Doris Mader in 1953 in Milan. During World War II, he served with the Army in the Philippines. Memorials may be made to Illinois Heart Association or the church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marta Verschoore, Rock Island; a son, Mark, Reynolds; sisters, Lillian Trenkamp, Preston, Iowa, Florence Heiar and Mila Keil, both of Maquoketa, Iowa, Maxine Sullivan, Goose Lake, Iowa, and Arlene Berger, Sioux City, Iowa; and brothers, Vincent, Maquoketa, and Vernon, Bellevue.

Mildred Marr
CLINTON, Iowa -- Mildred E Marr, of Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 2369 Dunham St., Clinton, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery , Clinton. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Mrs. Marr was employed in early years as a secretary at an insurance company in Chicago. Mildred Runquist was born June 7, 1909, in Clinton. She married George Marr in 1929 in Rock Island. He died in 1970. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Skiff, Clinton; a son, David L., Chillicothe, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Allan Marr, who died Sept. 17, 1999.

Gertrude Matje
CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Gertrude P.S. Matje, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, formerly of 242 30th Ave. N., Clinton, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery Clinton. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Matje was a homemaker. Gertrude Licht was born Nov. 14, 1910, in Alexandria, S.D. She married Carl Matje in 1926 in Fulton, Ill. He died in 1977. Memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Clinton. Survivors include sons, Albert, Colville, Wash., Arnold, Clinton, and Thomas, Walcott; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Debra McIntire was born March 25, 1957, in Iowa City. She married Paul Larson in 1978 in Nauvoo, Ill. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
