MOLINE -- Services for Audrey Vern Barach, of Moline, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Mrs. Barach died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. She retired in 1974 as a gear lab inspector after 31 years at International Harvester, Farmall Works, East Moline. Audrey Vern was born April 16, 1918, in Moline, to Fred and Bessie (Young) Anderson. She married Joseph "Jerry" Barach on June 10, 1950. She was a former member of ABWA of Rock Island and a member of the Croatian Crest Club, Moline, and the Clara Lodge of the Viking Club, Moline. She loved traveling and bowling and wintered in Florida for the past 20 years. Memorials may be made to Illinois Heart Association or the Salvation Army. Survivors include her husband; sisters, Vivian Haskins, Moline, Shirley Behrens, East Moline, Marjorie (Mrs. Joe) Dempsey, East Moline, and Mary (Mrs. Harry) Nelson, Rock Island; a sister-in-law, Mildred Larsen, East Moline; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Richard C. Anderson, in 1959.

Jacqueline Seibert
MOLINE -- Services for Jacqueline M. Seibert, of Moline, will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, and 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a rosary 4 p.m. Mrs. Seibert died Nov. 11, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill. Jacqueline DePaepe was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Rock Island. She married Thomas Seibert in 1958 in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the church or Seton Catholic School. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Lisa Jump and Terri Knox, both of Moline, Rita Kraft, Coon Rapids, Minn., Connie Whitcomb, Rock Island, Julie Peterson and Mary Pfannenstiel, both of Davenport, and Jody Seibert, Silvis; sons, Christopher, Richmond, Va., Thomas, Bettendorf, and Michael, Dublin, Ireland; 16 grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; an adopted granddaughter; a step-great-grandson; sisters Gerry Aversing and Nancy Ballinger, both of Rock Island, Bev Hamlin, Spring Hill, Fla., and Linda Diedrich, Moline; and brothers, Tom DePaepe, Arlington, Texas, and Dale DePaepe, Rock Island.

Ann Jablon
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Ann R. Jablon, of East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery , East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mrs. Jablon died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, Ill. Ann Dudzik was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Hampton Township, Ill., to Andrew and Anna (Visvarda) Dudzik. She married Heinz E. "Jab" Jablon on July 19, 1947, in Long Beach, Calif. She and her husband owned and operated Palmer Florist in East Moline for 50 years. They retired in 1997. She also had worked 27 years at Kenny's Tire Service, East Moline. She loved playing cards with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Survivors include her husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and John Smith, East Moline; grandchildren, Donnie Ince III and Stephen Smith; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Len Bishop, Sun City West, Ariz., and Carolyn Zelnio, Moline; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Shirley Dudzik, Towanda, Ill., and John and Helen Dudzik, East Moline; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Brooks, who died in 1967.

Dorothy Farrell
GENESEO, Ill. -- Memorial services for Dorothy Farrell, of Geneseo, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., Moline. No visitation will be held. The body was cremated. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Mrs. Farrell died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. She was employed 15 years as a typist at DeSaulniers Co., Moline. Dorothy Hall was born Aug. 8, 1911, in Moline. She married Sidney Farrell in 1939 in Decorah, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Quad-City Area Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include her husband; sons, John M., Geneseo, and Charles M., Phoenix; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, George, Muscatine, Iowa.

William Horrall
PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. -- Services for William A. "Bill" Horrall, of 80 Smitt Road, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Riverside Cemetery , Prophetstown. No visitation will be held. Mr. Horrall died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at his home. Gardner-Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown, is in charge of arrangements. He had worked at Walgreens, Chicago, until 1962. After that, he farmed in the Prophetstown area. He was born June 10, 1925, in Chicago. He married Patricia Orendorff in 1978 in Rock Island. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jill Weaver, Avondale, Ariz.; stepdaughters, Jodi McCaw, New Windsor, and Judy Spahn, Davenport; and five step-grandchildren.

Louis Davis
CLINTON, Iowa -- Memorial services for Louis R. Davis, of 2113 McKinley St., will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. No visitation will be held. Mr. Davis died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at his home He had worked at various farm jobs and delivered gas to the rural Wyoming area. He also was employed at Binkle Automotive, Cedar Rapids. After that, he worked at Allied Structural Steel Co. and later retired from McEleney Motors, Clinton. He was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Jones County. He married Mary Crowley in 1944 in Cedar Rapids. She died in 1977. During World War II, he served in the Army. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include sisters, Edith VonSprecken, Wyoming, and Lorna McGuire, Anamosa; and a brother, Ronald, Monticello.

Joyce Cruz
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Joyce M. "Dee Dee" Cruz, of Muscatine, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial will be in Nichols Cemetery . Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Cruz died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine, after an extended illness. She had worked at Keller Ladder Co. and Muscatine General Hospital and later enjoyed baby-sitting her nieces and nephews. Joyce Peters was born May 11, 1935, in Green Bay, Wis. Memorials may be made to Muscatine Dialysis Unit. Survivors include sisters, Frances Bouquot, Belvidere, Ill., and Cheryl Miller, Muscatine; and a brother, Russell Peters, Buffalo.

George Reesink
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for George W. Reesink, of Muscatine, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Reesink died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. He had farmed since 1941 in Lake Township. He continued helping his son with the farming until this last year. He was on the board of Farm Service Co. for many years. He also was president of the Rural Area Six School District and signed the bonds to build the Mulberry and Colorado elementary schools. He was president of the Rural Fire District Association and a trustee for Lake Township for 33 years. He was born March 20, 1916, in Lake Township, Muscatine County. He married Edith Broadston in 1941 in Muscatine. Memorials may be made to Spangler Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dr. Carole Reesink, Bemidji, Minn.; a son, William G., Muscatine; three grandchildren; and sisters, Jennie Schenkel, Muscatine, and Ruth Kelly, Seattle.

Laura Schmidt
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Laura Schmidt, of Muscatine, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. No visitation will be held. Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Schmidt died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Lutheran Homes. Laura Allman was born Oct. 27, 1903, in Muscatine. She married Weldon Schmidt in 1918 in Muscatine. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Homes. Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Cottrell, Muscatine; sons, Don, Muscatine, and Clayton, Fort Myers, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Ramirez
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Dorothy M. Ramirez, of Macomb, Ill., will be 2 p.m. Friday at Klein Cemetery . Visitation is noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Mrs. Ramirez died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at McDonough District Hospital, Macomb. Dorothy Milder was born March 15, 1946, in Burlington. She married Lupe Ramirez in 1968 in Muscatine. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Geanna Qudos and Cherady Hood, both of Macomb; a granddaughter; and sisters, Clara Malone, Columbus Junction, Doris Malone, Des Moines, Barb Clester, Muscatine, and Ann McCleary, Macomb.

Chanlett George Buster
WAPELLO, Iowa -- Memorial services for Chanlett George Buster, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery , with military services by Wapello Veterans of Foreign Wars Glenn Allen Post 5166. Mr. Buster died Oct. 17, 1999. Survivors include his wife, Ida Belle; and a half sister, Gwen Slater, Los Angeles.

John Clayes
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for John A. Clayes, of Kewanee, will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Visitation is two hours before the service. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery , Kewanee. Mr. Clayes died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Kewanee Hospital. He was employed as a cement finisher in the construction industry. He raced pigeons for 30 years under the racing team of John Clayes and Lola's Loft. He won many races and was nationally known and honored for the performance of his Loft. He was born Aug. 4, 1933, in Kewanee. During the Korean War, he served in the Army. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Diabetes Foundation. Survivors include his mother, Hazel Clayes, and brothers, Frank Jr., and Larry, all of Kewanee.

Freda Hoag
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Freda L. Hoag, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at her home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Church, Muscatine. Burial will be in Bloomington-Muscatine Friends Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Freda Zimmerman was born April 29, 1910, in Grandview. She married Paul Hoag in 1932 in Muscatine. He died in 1998. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include sons, Walter and Ralph; 13 grandchildren; 35 great- grandchildren; and four great great-granddaughters.

Dorothy Jodts
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Dorothy Jane Jodts, of 343 Rice St., died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at her home. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kewanee. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is 9-10:45 a.m. Friday at Schueneman and Tumbleson Funeral Home, Kewanee. Dorothy Jones was born June 9, 1926, in Kewanee. She married Marceil Jodts in 1952 in Kewanee. He died in 1970. Memorials may be made to Kewanee Humane Society. Survivors include a sister Carole Stem, Annawan; and brothers, Robert Jones, Kewanee, and Gene Jones, Depue.

Father Anthony Patik
PAPUA, New Guinea -- Father Anthony B. Patik, missionary since 1945, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at St. Michael's Retirement Center, Alexishafen, Madang Province, after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held in late November. Father Patik first served in New Guinea until 1949. After that, he was appointed teacher and rector and served from 1949 to 1985 at Marburg, Australia, Seminary. He returned to New Guinea 1974 and managed several parishes before becoming vicar general and business manager, a ministry he served from 1982 to 1988. Later, he was pastor at Mugil, Madang Cathedral and Alexishafen. He was born Jan. 20, 1914, in Albia, Iowa. He entered the Society of the Divine Word after high school graduation. He was ordained in 1942. Survivors include Dan and Joe Patik and a sister, Agnes Scanlon, all of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Margaret Rourke, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; George Patik, Covina, Calif.; and Sister Claire Marie Patik, CHM, Davenport.

Helen Ossian
OPHEIM, Ill. -- Memorial services for Helen L. Ossian, of Opheim, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Opheim. Visitation is one hour before the service. The body was cremated. Mrs. Ossian died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion, is in charge of arrangements. She retired in 1973 as a secretary and bookkeeper after 25 years at C.I. Josephson Jewelers, Moline. Helen Wilson was born Jan. 11, 1913, in Moline. She married Carl Ossian in 1935 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died in 1988. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Buchman, Opheim; a son, Perry, Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

WILTON, Iowa -- Ellen C. Lett, of Wilton, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery , Wilton. Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lett was retired from CDS, Wilton, and had raised schnauzers for many years. Ellen Saunders was born Sept. 6, 1931, in Clinton County. She married Raymond "Zeke" Lee in Calamus. He preceded her in death. She married Donald Lett in 1976 in Durant. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and Beacon of Hope Hospice, Davenport. Survivors include her husband; a son, Lynn Lee, Walcott; a stepdaughter, Donna Brockmeyer, Allegan, Mich.; stepsons, Richard Lett, Alverado, Texas, and DeWayne Lett, Wilton; nine grandchildren; and sisters, Lorraine Rumsower, of Arizona, Mardella Harvey, of California, Lois Boettcher, Lowden, Sarah Stafford, Blackwall, Okla., and Bernice Fullerton, Rockford, Iowa.

Jeri Kimmell
RIVERDALE, Iowa -- Services for Jeri B. "Boots" Kimmell, of Riverdale, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Private burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Kimmell died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. He retired in 1990 after 30 years as a security officer at Alcoa. He was born March 1, 1940, in Moulton, Iowa, to John H. and Nellie M. (Hoover) Kimmell. He was a veteran of the Navy. Mr. Kimmell was a member of First Christian Church, Davenport. He enjoyed computers and locksmithing. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or American Cancer Society. Survivors include his mother, Nellie M. Kimmell, Riverdale. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack, H. Kimmell, and his father, John Kimmell.
