ROCK ISLAND -- Orville Leslie Ellinwood Jr., of 2118 23rd St., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. At Mr. Ellinwood's request, the body will be cremated and no services will be held. Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements. He retired in 1988 from Servus Rubber Co., where he had been employed since 1953. He was an elevator operator. He was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Orville L. And Dorothy (Whitmarsh) Ellinwood. He married Marlene Epperly on Dec. 19, 1960, in Rock Island. He enjoyed animals and guns. He traveled for URW Union, of which he was a member. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Dawn Marie Ellinwood, Davenport, Linda Tollenaer, Moline, and Carol Schmit, Rock Island; grandchildren, Benjamin Leslie Christenson, Tiffany Gunn, Tara Tollenaer, Pete Tollenaer, Angie Pearson and Todd Schmit; great-grandchildren, Courtney and Alex Pearson; and a special friend, Virginia Becker. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Deyo in 1998.

Anna Foltz
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Anna R. Foltz, of Kewanee, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Kewanee Hospital. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee. Cremation rites were accorded. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Kewanee. Visitation is 9:30 a.m. until service time. Anna Bachert was born Dec. 25, 1915, in Cleveland, Ohio. She married John Foltz in 1938 in Davenport. He died in 1975. She had been a homemaker. Memorials may be made to the Skilled Care Unit of Kewanee Hospital. Survivors include a son, William, Geneseo; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Frances Baker and Mildred Bachert, both of Kewanee; and Mary Knauf, Sandwich.

Patricia Ford
MOLINE -- Services for Patricia D. Ford, of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Moline, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, officiated by the Rev. Doug Moore. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery , Moline. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Ford died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital, Port Charlotte, Fla. She was employed in the cafeteria at Augustana College, Rock Island. Patricia Wahlgren was born July 13, 1926, in Moline, to Charles and Minnie (Craft) Wahlgren. She married Ronald Ford on July 15, 1945, in Moline. He died on March 14, 1973. She was a member of American Women in Business, Moline Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Velie Post 2153; and a former member of the East Moline Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and sewing. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bob De Hamer, Punta Gorda; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Joyce Ford, Moline, and Dave and Margaret Ford, Rock Island; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Cyril De Buysere, Port Byron, Ill. She was preceded in death by seven sisters and brothers.

James Kuhn
DAVENPORT -- Services for James R. Kuhn, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mr. Kuhn died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. He was employed as a customer service representative by Nabisco. Mr. Kuhn was born Dec. 7, 1944, in Sheboygan, Wis., to Everett and Ermalinda Berkley Kuhn. He married Linda McElmeel on Oct. 7, 1967, in Dubuque. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include his wife, Linda; a daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Tony Geach, St. Charles, Ill.; brothers and a sister-in-law, Stephen Kuhn, Milwaukee, Wis., and Joseph and Susan Kuhn, La Crosse Wis.; and his parents, Everett and Ermalinda Kuhn, La Crosse.

Virgil Mowry
LOST NATION, Iowa -- Services for Virgil N. Mowry, of Lost Nation, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation. Burial will be in Massillon Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. at Hayden Funeral Home, Lost Nation. Mr. Mowry died Saturday at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, after an brief illness. As a young man, he worked on the family farm. At age 15, he went to work at Coors Meat Packing Co., Davenport. After two years, he began a milk delivery route in Clinton. He was born April 25, 1921, near Bennett. He married Vivian Schultz in 1942 at her parents farm home near Lost Nation. The couple moved to Clarence, where he worked for a farmer for one year before they began farming on their own, near Clarence. In 1947, the couple took over Vivian's parents farm northwest of Lost Nation. They lived and farmed there until moving into Lost Nation in 1992. During Virgil's later years on the farm, he sold feed for Occo Feed Co., sold seed for Pride Seed Co., and was a crop adjuster for a short time for Farm Bureau Insurance. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Margie Ketterer, Deerfield Beach, Fla.; a son, Jay, Swisher; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Vonee Busch, Lost Nation, and Vivian Seng, Maquoketa.

Gabriel Raymond
ROCK ISLAND -- Gabriel M. Raymond, of Rock Island, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at River Park Healthcare Center, Rock Island. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation is one hour before the service. Gabriel Houvenaghel was born Oct. 29, 1910, in Moline. She married George Raymond in 1929 in Moline. He died in 1988. Survivors include daughters, Rosalie Meeks, East Moline, and Betty Caudill, Rock Island; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Mildred Mulkey, Matherville, Ill.

Randall Remrey
CLINTON, Iowa -- Memorial services for Randall C. Remrey, of 435 1/2 10th Ave. S., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. Mr. Remrey died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton. He was employed as a auto body technician at A-Z Auto Sales for several years. He was born on Oct. 6, 1954, in Clinton. He married Traci Miller in 1976 in Clinton. He served in the National Guard from 1975-76. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include sons, Christopher Remrey and Dru Legel, both of Clinton; sisters, Kim Steeg and Valerie Rogers, both of Clinton, and Sandy Thompson, Teeds Grove.

Jean Rutledge
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Jean E. Rutledge, of Rockford, formerly of Morrison and Walnut, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, after a brief illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at North Love Baptist Church, Rockford. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home, Rockford. She was employed by Enterprise Car Rental as a driver and previously had worked for General Electric, Morrison. Jean Elliott was born April 7, 1934, in Prince Frederick, Md. She married Willis Rutledge in 1951 in Barstow, Md. He preceded her in death. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include daughters, Jan Roggy, Morrison, and JoAnne Romer, Lusby, Md.; sons, Judd, Walnut, and Jerry, Morrison; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Mae Denton, Mazie Monnett, and Eleanor Denton, all of Calvert County, Md.; and a special friend, John Anderson.

Esther Schroeder
MORRISON, Ill. -- Services for Esther L. Schroeder, of 506 E. High St., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Morrison, preceded by a 10:45 a.m. family prayer service at the church chapel. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery , Morrison. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Mrs. Schroeder died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Morrison Community Hospital. Esther Nelson was born April 13, 1920, in Morrison. She married Kenneth Schroeder in 1938 in Morrison. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Sharon Ottens, Morrison, and Ellen Axtell, Shreveport, La.; sons, Philip, Morrison, and Kevin, Wausau, Wis.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Hayen-Mood, Morrison, and Mildred Landheer, Lyndon; and a brother, Gordon Nelson, Morrison.

Dorothy Shaw-Harbison
DAVENPORT -- Dorothy L. Shaw-Harbison, of Davenport, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at St. Anthony's Care Center, Rock Island. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is noon until service time Tuesday at the mortuary. She was employed at WHBF, Rock Island. Dorothy L. Parsons was born March 8, 1915, in Monmouth, Ill., the daughter of Warren and Daisy Parsons. She married DeLoyde Shaw on June 15, 1934, they were later divorced. She married Charles H. Harbison on Nov. 30, 1968. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Care Center. Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Harbison, Davenport; sons, Roger Shaw, Milan, Ill., and Gene Shaw, Moline; a stepson, Ken Harbison, Davenport, Doug Harbison, Davenport; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother, Arnold Parson; sister, Clara Royce; and three grandchildren.

Grover Sloan
ANDOVER, Ill. -- Services for Grover A. Sloan, of Andover, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Sloan died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. He was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Eskridge, Kan. He married Beulah Lawson in 1953 in Orion. He served in the National Guard during the Korean conflict. He retired from Laborers Local 309. He farmed in Milan with his 1955 John Deere Model 60 tractor, which he loved. Memorials may be made to Illinois Heart Association. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Debra Miller, Renfrew, Pa., and Susan Piper, Washington, Ill.; a son, Jeffrey, Pittsboro, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Alice Falls, Galesburg, and Jeanette Sloan, Rock Island; and brothers, Shirland, Oneida, Wayman, Georgia, Arthur, Aledo, Harold, Cameron, and Murrel, Matherville.

Joseph Small Sr.
EAST MOLINE -- Joseph W. Small Sr., East Moline, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Joe retired as a machinist from International Harvester, East Moline in 1975 after 21 years. He operated Joe's DX and Joe's Standard stations in East Moline during the mid 1960s. He was born Feb. 28, 1915, in Colfax, Ill., the son of James and Clara (Steinlicht) Small. He married Genevieve Watkins on Nov. 7, 1945, in Searcy, Ark. He was a staff sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Small was a member of the East Moline Masonic Lodge 969, enjoyed woodworking and talking on the CB radio under the handle "East Moline Joe." Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, East Moline, where he was a member. Survivors include his wife; children and their spouses, Doris Carron, Lewiston, Ill., Sharon and Michael Bell, Hampton, Ill., Joseph and Karen Small Jr., Moline, and Jolene McKoon, East Moline; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Savage, Normal, Ill.

Charlotte Streicher
MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. -- Services for Charlotte "Lottie" Streicher, of Mount Carroll, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mt. Carroll. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery , Mount Carroll. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Monday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Mrs. Streicher died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mount Carroll. Charlotte Zink was born July 20, 1900, in Pleasant Valley Township, Jo Daviess County. She married John Streicher in 1922. He died in 1986. She was a homemaker most of her life. Memorials may be given in Lottie's name to the church. Survivors include sons, Delmar, Clear Lake, Ind., and Wayne "Butch," rural Elizabeth; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Lee Zink, Mount Carroll.

Louis Teerlinck
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for Louis P. Teerlinck, of Kewanee, formerly of Chillicothe, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kewanee. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Kewanee. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Monday at Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, with a rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Teerlinck died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Kewanee Care Nursing Home. He worked in insurance sales for Multi Line and later was an inspector for Caterpillar, Peoria, retiring in 1990. He was born March 12, 1931, in Alba Township. He married Debra Kuster in 1977 in Kewanee. Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Disease Center. Survivors include his mother, Celina Fisher, Kewanee; a daughter, Cheryl Spaugh, Decatur; three grandchildren; and a brother, Robert, Columbia, Mo.

George Boardwell
DAVENPORT -- Services for George A. Boardwell, of Davenport, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Mr. Boardwell died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. He was employed as an electronic technician and owned and operated the Metropolitan Detective Services beginning in the 1950s. He was born April 21, 1923, in Davenport. During World War II, he served in the military police. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include sons, Donald Boardwell, Vail, Colo., George Boardwell Jr., Tipton, Iowa, Robert Boardwell, Rockford, Ill., and Wallace Boardwell and Scott and Randy Hyde, all of Davenport; and nine grandchildren.

Keith Cudmore
DAVENPORT -- W. Keith Cudmore, of Davenport, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in Davenport. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Mr. Cudmore retired in 1986 after 20 years as manager of production advertising at Deere & Co. He was born March 8, 1931, in Grand Forks, N.D. He married Verna Flenker in 1955 in Davenport. During the Korean War, he served two years in the Army. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sue Chartrand, Wauwatosa, Wis.; a son, Scott, New Berlin, Wis.; four grandchildren; a sister, Janice Sherwin, Daytona, Fla.; and a brother, Eric, Mission, Texas.

Kenneth Hogren
GENESEO, Ill. -- Kenneth A. Hogren, of Geneseo, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Wright Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Services, Geneseo. The Rev. Dr. Roger Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery , Orion. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the chapel. Mr. Hogren had farmed all his adult life in Coal Valley, Port Byron and Osco. He also worked several years at Clark Feed and Supply, Orion. He was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Rural Township, Rock Island County, to Edwin and Ida (Johnson) Hogren. He graduated from Sherrard High School in 1936. He married Virginia Osborn on June 6, 1946, in Coal Valley. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Geneseo; Henry County Farm Bureau; and American Association of Retired Persons. He enjoyed fishing and reading. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Geneseo, or Kewanee Hospital Hospice. Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and John Magee, Peoria, Ariz., Linda and David George, Cleveland, and Barbara and Lawrence Coussens, Prophetstown; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Kenneth E. and Sue Hogren, Metamora; 13 grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Mildred Tacason, Westford, Mass. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Sarah Johnson
DAVENPORT -- Services for Sarah Marie Johnson, of Davenport, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Sarah died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, after an asthma attack She was a fifth grader at Jackson Elementary School, Davenport. Sarah Marie Johnson was born Jan. 20, 1989, in Hutchinson, Minn, to Paul and Roberta R. (O'Leary) Johnson. Sarah loved to spend time with her family, especially fishing with her grandpa. She had a contagious smile and always brightened the day with her big smile. She had tons of friends at school. She had a remarkable way with young children Survivors include her mother, Roberta R. Johnson, and her father, Paul Johnson; brothers, Shane O'Leary, Timothy Brase, Jacob Johnson and Isiah Johnson; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Delores Johnson, Davenport; a great-grandmother, Wanda Heim, Davenport; paternal grandparents, Al and Roberta Johnson, of South Dakota; and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
