COLONA, Ill. -- Services for Anntonette "Toni" Adams, of Colona, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Adams died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. She was employed six years as a real estate agent at Mel Foster Real Estate Co. She retired in 1998. Anntonette Davis was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Washington, Iowa. She married Dale Adams in 1964 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Angela Lampkin, Newton, Iowa; a son, Nathan, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two grandchildren; and her parents, LaVerne and Carol Davis, and a sister, Michaela Davis, all of Ottumwa.

Wilfred Nelson
WOODHULL, Ill. -- Wilfred A. "Bill" Nelson, of Woodhull, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at LaSalle Veterans Home, after an extended illness. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Ophiem. The Rev. Michael Massa will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Lutheran Cemetery . Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Alpha. Mr. Nelson was a partner/owner of W.J. Nelson & Sons Inc., Ophiem. He was born March 13, 1925, in Galesburg, to Wilfred J. and Ruth (Lund) Nelson. He married Millie Farr on Aug. 23, 1947, in Rock Island. He graduated in 1942 from Oxford Township High School, Alpha. He was a member of Grace Lutheran church; a former church council member; charter member of American Legion Post 1077, Ophiem; past president of Illinois Farm Equipment Dealers Association; and a former member of Oxford Township/Ophiem Fire Department. During World War II, he served with the Army in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Battle Stars. Bill enjoyed boating and fishing with family and friends. He loved his family. He was dearly loved by them. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Illinois Valley Hospice, Peru. Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Jacque Nelson, Farmington Hills, Mich.; grandchildren, Aaron, Lee and Laura; sisters and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Jack Dorman, Scottsdale, Ariz., Inez Frankhouse, Albuquerque, N.M., and Pat Nelson, Santa Monica, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Joann Nelson, Ophiem; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael.

Kenneth Huggins
SHERRARD, Ill. -- Services for Kenneth C. Huggins, of Sherrard, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Family Funeral Services, Reynolds. Burial will be in Sherrard Cemetery . Mr. Huggins died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Lynncrest Manor, Aledo. He retired as a Standard Oil agent. He was born Jan. 17, 1913, in Sherrard. She married Fern Schurr in 1939 in Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sherrard Ambulance or Harbor Light Hospice. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Hofer, Reynolds; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.

Elaine Kolwey
WHEATLAND, Iowa -- Elaine M. Kolwey, of Wheatland, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at her home in rural Wheatland. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wheatland. The Rev. Barbara Bullock will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery , Wheatland. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland. Elaine Flenker was born March 18, 1934, rural Dixon, to John and Katherine (Schmidt) Flenker. She married Kenneth Kolwey on Jan. 3, 1953, in Tipton. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, flowers and animals. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Karen Kolwey, Orlando, Fla., and Sharon (Mrs. Michael) Keenan, Des Moines; grandchildren; Alison and Sean; sisters, Ethel Kuchel, Oxford Junction, and LaVerne Fogg, Tipton; and a brother, Harlan Flenker, Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lee; a daughter, Linda; a sister, Janice Flenker; and brothers, Glen and Melvin Flenker.

Albina Kopatich
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Albina Kopatich, East Moline, will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery , Centerville, Iowa. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Miss Kopatich died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Parkview Health Care Center, East Moline. Albina retired in 1977 from the former Laundry Dome, East Moline. She was born Dec. 12, 1908, in Brazil, Iowa, to Jack and Lucy (Radosevich) Padavich. She married Phillip Kopatich on Dec. 27, 1924, in Centerville. He died June 6, 1991. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline, where she was a member. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Betty Kopatich, Hampton, Ill., and Andrew and Lois Kopatich, East Moline; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pauline Allen, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Olga Shonts, Rock Island. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Violet; and four brothers.

Vernon Glisan
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Vernon L. Glisan, East Moline, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Vernon died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at his residence after a brave, hard fight with cancer. He was born Oct. 1, 1943, in Memphis, Tenn., the son of Orville and Velma (Scanlan) Glisan. He married Nancy Preisler on April 14, 1966, in Wheaton, Ill. Mr. Glisan received his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb, and his master's degree in mathematics from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. He was a mathematics teacher at United Township High School, East Moline, for 27 years, retiring in 1994. Prior to this, he taught for two years at Rock Island High School. He was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association and Theta Xi Fraternity, Macomb, and was a former member of the Local Carpenter's Union. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, watching, playing and coaching sports and riding his Harley. He never missed Jeopardy at 4 p.m. He was an avid Bulls, Bears and Cubs fan. Memorials may be made to the Mississippi Valley Muskees Fishing Organization or to donor's favorite charity. Survivors include his wife; sons and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Erna Glisan, Darien, Ill., and Shane Glisan, Tempe, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Adrianna Glisan, Darien; his mother and stepfather, Velma Glisan-Thomas and Ben Thomas; a sister, Brenda Siebert, Bloomington, Ill.; a brother, Lou Glisan, Denver; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in 1985.

GALESBURG, Ill. -- Services for Lola J. Snyder, of Galesburg, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peterson-Wallin-Knox Funeral Home, Woodhull. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Snyder died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg. She was employed 13 years as a medical technician at the former Galesburg Mental Health Center. Lola Elliott was born Sept. 1, 1913, in Geneseo. She married Nyle Snyder in 1930 in Alpha. He died in 1985. Memorials may be made to Wataga Drop In Senior Citizens Center or Clover Chapel Church. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Powell, Galesburg; sons, Robert, Galesburg, and William, Oneida; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and sisters, Naomi Thuline, Galva, and Arlene Dueysen, Henry.

Leta Evelyn White
DAVENPORT -- Services for Leta Evelyn White, of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Koning Chapel at Ridgecrest Village, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Mrs. White died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Crest Health Center, Davenport. Leta Evelyn Bryant was born Jan. 26, 1909, in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of Earnest A. and Orpha (Palmer) Bryant. She married Harold J. White on Nov. 3, 1930 in Clarinda, Iowa. He died June 6, 1979. She retired as director of religious education at St. John's United Methodist Church. She later worked at Ridgecrest Retirement Village as director of activities and housekeeping, and choir director and sales consultant. She was a 60-year member of St. John's United Methodist Church, a member of Service Circle of King's Daughters, a life member and past president of United Methodist Women's Association and a former three-year president of Johnson School PTA, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church or Ridgecrest Village. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Barbara White, Bettendorf; grandsons, Jeffrey White, and his wife Leigh, Bettendorf, and Scott White, and his wife Mary Jo, Higley, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Stephanie and her husband Ken Huskey, Creve Coeur, Mo.; grandchildren, Justin Smith and Danielle White, both of Bettendorf, and Chad, Britani and Broc White, all of Higley, Collin, Corey and Connor Huskey, all of Creve Coeur; and a brother, Rex Bryant, Knoxville, Iowa. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and a great-granddaughter, Nikki Ann White, in December 1998.

Rosemary Moser
WILTON, Iowa -- Rosemary R. Moser, of Wilton, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at her home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Moser retired as a secretary after 15 years at REC, Wilton. Rosemary Gamble was born Nov. 5, 1929, in Davenport. She married Curtis Moser in 1965 in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Wilton First Responders. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Regina Eufinger, St. Peters, Mo., and Kris Giese, Wilton; and five grandchildren.

Robert Jackson
BETTENDORF -- Memorial services for Robert V. Jackson, of Bettendorf, will be 2:30 p.m. today at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. No visitation will be held. Mr. Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. He was employed as chief technician at Ryder First Group Student Bus Transportation, Davenport. He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Hannibal, Mo. He married Sharon Smith in 1960 in Quincy, Ill. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Melissa Smith, Fort Myers, Fla.; a son, Mark, West Branch, Iowa; two grandchildren; and a sister, Yvonne Murray, Hannibal.

Alma Scheckel
MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Services for Alma C. Scheckel, of Maquoketa, formerly of Preston, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery , Preston. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with a rosary at 5 p.m. by Catholic Daughters of America. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Mrs. Scheckel died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa, after a brief illness. She did baby-sitting and house cleaning for various families and did custodial work at Jackson County Public Hospital and Jackson State Bank. Alma Schmidt was born Sept. 26, 1906, in Springbrook. She married Arthur Scheckel in 1928 in Springbrook. They had farmed in the Preston area. He died in 1952. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include daughters, Elaine Koch, Arlington, Texas, and Ione Rowan, Bellevue; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Luella Rubel, Bellevue, and Elnora Hingtgen, Maquoketa.

Jerry Pick
CINCINNATI, Iowa -- Services for Jerry Pick, of Cincinnati, will be 10:30 a.m. today at Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church, Centerville. Burial will be in Livingston Cemetery , Cincinnati. Mr. Pick died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center, Centerville. Schmidt Funeral Homes, Centerville, is in charge of arrangements. He was employed 10 years at Iowa Steel and Wire, Centerville, and had worked at J I Case, Rock Island. He was born Aug. 25, 1941, in Hayfield, Minn. He married Barbara Henderson in 1963 in Centerville. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Rhonda Landrum, Shell Rock, Jerri Hamilton, Centerville, and Tammy Corbin, Bettendorf; four grandchildren; his parents, Wendall and Anna Pick, Cincinnati; sisters, Charlotte Johnson, Lexington, Ky., and Trenna Brown, Russell; and brothers, the Rev. Robert, Centerville, Allan, Union Grove, Wis., and Warren, Cincinnati.

Velma Keopple
MOLINE -- Services for Velma L. Keopple, of 2716 47th St., will be 2 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary Inc., Silvis, Ill. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Mrs. Keopple died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, in Silvis. She was a homemaker. Velma Carr was born April 23, 1902. She married Theodore Keopple in 1921 in Liberal, Kan. He died in 1982. Memorials may be made to Moline Humane Society. Survivors include grandchildren, Theodore Keopple, Geneseo, Ill., and Donald Keopple, Hampton, Ill.; step-grandchildren, Bill Myers, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dave Myers, Biloxi, Miss, and Mike Myers, Geneseo; two great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

Robert Walker
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Services for Robert F. Walker, of Kewanee, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Evangelical United Church of Christ, Kewanee. Visitation is noon until service time. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery , Kewanee, with military services by Kewanee Veterans Council. Mr. Walker died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Toulon Health Care Center. Rux Funeral Home, Kewanee, is in charge of arrangements. He retired in 1987 after 33 years at Kewanee Corp. He was born April 9, 1925, in Galva. He married Lois Beelaert in 1951 in Kewanee. She died in 1997. During World War II, he served with the Navy in the Asiatic Pacific, European African and Philippine Liberation theaters. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include daughters, Gail Graf and Julie Walker, both of Kewanee; and a grandson.

Raymond Stewart
KEWANEE, Ill. -- Raymond Stewart, of Kewanee, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999. at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery , Kewanee. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Stewart farmed in the Kewanee area. He and his wife were very active in showing, raising and exhibiting appaloosa horses across the country and were very active in the Black Hawk East equestrian program. He was born Dec. 5, 1904, in Cambridge. He married Bertha Heflin in 1922 in Geneseo. She preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Kewanee, or Illinois Appaloosa Association. Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Wallace, LaFayette; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas Jackson
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Thomas M. Jackson, of Rock Island, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island. The Rev. Stacie Fidlar will officiate. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Jackson died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. He retired June 30, 1981, as a precision tool grinder after 40 years at the former International Harvester Co., Farmall Works, Rock Island. He was born March 11, 1919, in Matherville, Ill., to Ralph Raymond and Lelah Vale (Underwood) Jackson. He married Lois A. Erickson on Dec. 15, 1946, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island. He was a 1937 graduate of Sherrard, Ill., High School. During World War II, he served in the Army on Guam. He had received the Bronze Star. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Island, was on the church council for 21 years and a member of the property, music and worship committees. He was a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir for 44 years and the Ageless Group of the church. He was active in Boy Scouts of America for 53 years as a scoutmaster and committeeman and on the Merit Badge council. He had received numerous awards, including Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver. He was an amateur radio operator and a member of Civil Defense in earlier years. He was a model railroading enthusiast and very knowledgeable of Rock Island Lines railroad history. He was an accomplished musician, playing bass and guitar. At one time, he played with Bill Kramer Group, and in retirement, he played at local nursing homes. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church organ fund or a favorite charity. Survivors include his wife; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Sheila Jackson, Moline, and Murrell R. Jackson, Rock Island; grandchildren, Thomas R. and Emily J. Jackson; and several cousins.

Elsa Gingery
DAVENPORT -- Services for Elsa F. Gingery, of Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Bloom Cemetery , Tiskilwa, Ill. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Mrs. Gingery died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999, at International Order of Oddfellows Nursing Home, Springfield, Ohio. She was employed as a secretary for nine years at Rock Island Liner railroad and 12 years at Fidlar & Chambers. She retired in 1963. Elsa Nieland was born Dec. 25, 1903, in Preston, Iowa, to Louis and Minnie (Schmidt) Nieland. She married Earl G. Gingery on April 6, 1936, in Preston. He died June 18, 1979. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and choir member. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Davenport, or to a favorite charity Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and George Parsons, Springfield; a daughter and step-son-in-law, Kathryn and Calvin Bredberg, Aledo, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a stepdaughter, three brothers and two sisters.

Katherine Atkinson
LeCLAIRE, Iowa -- Services for Katherine Atkinson, of LeClaire, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Faith United Church of Christ, Davenport. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, and one hour before service time Wednesday at the church. Mrs. Atkinson died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Grandview Terrace, Davenport. She was employed as a flower arranger for eight years at Flowers by Frederick, Davenport. She was born Dec. 7, 1907, in Racine, Wis., to Joseph and Katherine Mueller. She married E. Russell Atkinson in Racine. He died Nov. 17, 1961. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Davenport, and a former member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Her hobbies and special interests were flowers, gardening and baking. She had a special love for all of her grandchildren and the treasured monuments she spent with them. Memorials may be made to Faith United Church of Christ. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Marian and Thomas C. Blumer, LeClaire, and Kathleen Pearce, Davenport; sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth R. Atkinson, Anchorage, Alaska, and Richard and Barbara Atkinson, Port Isabel, Texas; 15 grandchildren, Eric Atkinson, Nancy Nelson, Katie McCreath, Daniel Blumer, Theresa Parris, Christine Blumer, Jacquelyn Blumer, Jeanne Farr, Kathy Blumer, Russell Atkinson, Gail Christenson, Darren Atkinson, Kelly Butler, Stanton Schneider and Jessica Pearce; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. A big thank you to Christine Blumer for the care to her Grandma from August until her death. She also was preceded in death by a son, James Atkinson, on April 15, 1992; grandchildren, David Blumer, on April 7, 1994, and Thomas Blumer, on Sept. 24, 1996; and a sister and a brother. May they rest in peace.
