Mr. Morrow died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at Seton Medical Center, Austin. Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements. He was employed at Ampco Parking, Austin. He was born May 28, 1962, in Rock Island. Survivors include his parents, George Sr. and Erma Morrow, Rock Island; sisters, Denise Hall and Jeannetta Morrow, both of Austin; and brothers, Vincent Sr., Davenport, and George Jr., Rock Island.

Douglas Clough
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Douglas M. Clough, of 540 22nd Ave., will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Burial will be in Waterloo Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo. Mr. Clough died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at his home. He had owned Poly Process Co., Milan, Ill., most recently. In the 1970s, he started Auto Shield Rust Proofing, Rock Island, and had worked in security. He had worked at Deere & Co., Waterloo, and founded Doug's Automotive, Waterloo. He was born June 17, 1943, in Minneapolis. Survivors include a daughter, Jill Wright, and a son, Douglas A., both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and three grandchildren.

LaVerne Salek
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for LaVerne O. Salek, of 114 Park Ave., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Muscatine. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine, with a rosary at 8 p.m. Mr. Salek died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. He was employed as a linoleum mechanic who installed carpet and linoleum for Stein Furniture Store . He retired in 1992. He also was a shoe repairman at Wilson Shoe Store. He was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Muscatine. He married Doris Kile in 1945 in Muscatine. During World War II, he served in the Air Force with the 4th Bomb Squadron 34th Bomb Group. He flew out of England and participated in the Air Offensive Campaign over Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Judith Hagens, Aledo, Ill., Rosemary Montandon, Muscatine, and Janice Morgan, Fort Myers, Fla.; sons, LaVerne J., Robert L. and David A., all of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his mother, Clazena Salek, and a brother, Louis, both of Muscatine.

Margaret Allison
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for Margaret V. Allison, of Rock Island, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Evangelical Free Church, Moline. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg, Ill. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Mrs. Allison died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. She retired in 1986 from the purchasing department at Roth Pump Co., Milan. In earlier years, she worked at Rock Island Credit Bureau and Dohrn Transfer Co., Galesburg. Margaret Swedell was born Dec. 7, 1916, in Table Grove, Ill. She married Wilmer Allison in 1946 in Table Grove. He died in 1970. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or a favorite charity. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Abernathy, Mesquite, Texas; a son, Timothy R., Rock Island; four grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Murphy, Virden, Ill.

Jerry Schultz
MILAN, Ill. -- Services for Jerry A. Schultz, of Milan, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Assembly of God, Rock Island. Visitation is two hours before the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal, with military services by Milan American Legion Post 569 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4177. Mr. Schultz died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at his home. Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements. He retired in 1995 after 30 years at John Deere Distribution Warehouse, Milan. He began work at John Deere Foundry, East Moline. He was born July 28, 1947, in Williamson County. He married Ruby Kerley in 1964 in Benton. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Lynn Johnson, Rock Island, and Rebecca Leal, Tampico; three grandchildren; his mother, Virgia Schultz, West Frankfort; a sister, Vicki Hood, Mount Vernon; and a brother, David, West Frankfort.

William Woehrle Sr.
BETTENDORF -- Services for William G. Woehrle Sr., of Bettendorf, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Mr. Woehrle died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. William retired in 1974 from Red Jacket Pump Co., Davenport, after 18 years in the assembly department and 18 years in production control. He was born Oct. 15, 1909, in Davenport, to William and Dorothea (Hildebrand) Woehrle, the first of two children. He married Mattie Gallatin on Oct. 15, 1933, at the minister's home in Clinton, Iowa. She preceded him in death last month on Oct. 29. He was a member of the local and national American Association of Retired Persons, Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club and Center for Active Seniors Inc. and a 70-year member of both East Davenport Turners and Loyal Order of the Moose. William was a musician who played with local bands, including Verlia Rabe, Lou Thorne and Arnold Paulsen. He also was a square dance teacher and caller. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William Jr. and Tracy Woehrle, Madison, Wis.; grandchildren, William G. Woehrle III, Kenosha, Wis., Vicki Zak, Zion, Ill., and Jessie F. Woehrle, Eugene C. Woehrle and Marcy L. Woehrle, all of Madison; and great-grandchildren, Cortney, Kelsey, Emmalee and Cody Zak, all of Zion. William will always be remembered as a person willing to help make life better for people around him.

Lillian Claussen
ROCK ISLAND -- Lillian May Claussen, formerly of Rock Island, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Davenport Good Samaritan Center. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Davenport. The Rev. Drew Nagle will officiate. Visitation is 12:30 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. For 68 years, Mrs. Claussen resided at 3115 10th St., Rock Island. For many years, Lillian was employed as a jewelry buyer at the former Brady & Waxenberg Department Store, Rock Island. Later, she was a hostess 17 years in the cafeteria at Rock Island YWCA. She retired in 1972. Lillian Bolmer was born April 5, 1902, in Davenport, to David and Emma (Snyder) Bolmer. She married Charles "Whitey" Claussen Jr. on April 8, 1921, in Davenport. He died Dec. 15, 1953. She and Whitey were married 32 years and during that time, they danced twice a week at the Col Ballroom in Davenport. They were often dance contest winners. Lillian especially enjoyed doing the Charleston. For recreation in her later years, she played cards and bingo. Lillian was a former member of Gloria Dei United Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Paul Vance
DAVENPORT -- Services for Paul B. Vance, of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Mr. Vance died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Fejervary Health Care Center, Davenport. Paul retired in 1974 as a clerk after several years at Railway Express. Paul Brian Vance was born Aug. 18, 1908, in Owen, Wis., to Ross C. and Alice B. (Black) Vance. He married Alice Brandt on Oct. 19, 1945, in Davenport. She died April 11, 1989. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Marie Schlimmer and Esther Brandt, both of Davenport; nieces, Phyllis (Mrs. Waldo) Voss and Marcia Arbogast, all of Davenport; and a nephew, Don Brandt and his wife, Barbara, Boynton Beach, Fla. in addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Waldo Vance, in 1998. May they rest in peace.

Leah Holzhauer
DAVENPORT -- Services for Leah Holzhauer, of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Mrs. Holzhauer died peacefully at her home Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, surrounded by her loving family. She was employed as a professional cake decorator at the former Bon-Ton Bakery, Davenport, from 1954 until her retirement in 1977 Leah Lichtenwald was born July 27, 1914, to Jacob and Maria (Henkle) Lichtenwald in Denhoff, Russia. She married John Holzhauer on July 21, 1934, in Muscatine, Iowa. He died in 1980. Mrs. Holzhauer was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, Davenport; Jolly Old Timers, and Tri L. She also was active at the Collins House Senior Center, the museum guild, Liedertaufel, various card clubs and Center for Active Seniors Inc. In earlier years, she had been active in Eastern Star. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Scott County VNA Hospice Association. Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Mrs. Robert) Halsey, Davenport; grandchildren, Kristin Aitchison and spouse Peter, St. Paul, Minn., and Jeffrey Halsey and spouse Elizabeth, Davenport; and great-grandchildren, Halsey and McKinnley. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and a brother.

Albert "Rick" Lawrence III
COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- Albert R. "Rick" Lawrence III, of Coal Valley, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, as a result of burns he received Sunday in an accident while burning brush at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Trimble Funeral Home, Coal Valley. Entombment will be in Rock Island Memorial Park mausoleum. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Lawrence worked with his family in A.R. Lawrence and Sons Masonry all of his adult life. He was born April 4, 1952, in Rock Island. He married Kathlene DePron in 1991 in Coal Valley. Memorials may be made to Blackhawk Epilepsy Association. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Margret Lawrence, Coal Valley; a stepson, Richard Bussard, Rock Island; sisters, Colette Kissling and Beth Lawrence, both of Coal Valley; and brothers, Jeff, Moline, and Kent, Coal Valley. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Lawrence Jr., on Aug. 16, 1999.

Robert Feeney
BETTENDORF -- Services for Robert J. Feeney, of Bettendorf, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery , Davenport. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a prayer service recited at 7 p.m. Mr. Feeney died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. Robert J. Feeney was born June 23, 1927, in Davenport to R. Emmett and Anne Veronica (Carlin) Feeney. Mr. Feeney was a graduate of St. Ambrose Academy and received his business degree from St. Ambrose College, Davenport. He married Sylvia Dobrich on Dec. 30, 1961, in DePue, Ill. He was employed as a program analyst at Army Weapons Command, Rock Island Arsenal. He retired in 1986. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Army in the Korean War. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Building Fund, Our Lady of Lourdes School or Rejuvenate Assumption. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; a daughter and son-in-law, Sara and John Brownell, Hiawatha, Iowa; a son, Mark Feeney and his fiancée, Susie Pruneda, Chicago; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Michael Dellisant, LaJolla, Calif., and Jennifer and John Irmen, Frederick, Md.; grandchildren, Molly and Elizabeth Brownelle and Nicholas Irmen; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Pat Priester, Bettendorf; a sister, Jean Marie Glancy, Bettendorf; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Dorothy Feeney and Mike and Carol Feeney, all of Davenport.

June Munn
DAVENPORT -- June A. Munn, of Davenport, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at her home, after a brief illness. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. She was born June 22, 1922, in Elk Point, S.D. She married Earl Munn in 1938 in Elk Point. He died in 1989. Memorials may be made to Quad-Cities Diabetes Association. Survivors include daughters, Katherine Conger and Carolyn Toler, both of Davenport; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Duane Hamman, Waterloo, Iowa.

Mary Kuhn
COAL VALLEY, Ill. -- Memorial services for Mary R. Kuhn, of Coal Valley, will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley. Private burial will be Thursday at Glennwood Cemetery , Colona Township. The body was cremated. A time of remembrance will be held at visitation from 5 p.m. until service time Wednesday with relatives and friends at the church. Mrs. Kuhn died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home Ltd., Orion, is in charge of arrangements. She was employed as a registered nurse, most recently at the Galesburg Clinic. She had worked at Passavant Hospital, Chicago, and at the former Mayo General Hospital, Galesburg. Mary Rugh was born June 2, 1923, in Moline. She married Ralph Kuhn in 1947 in Coal Valley. During World War II, she served as an Army nurse. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Trinity Medical Center College of Nursing Alumni Association. Survivors include her husband; a son, David, Coal Valley; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Jackie Shattuck, and a brother, Richard Rugh, both of Coal Valley.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Mrs. Edmunds died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. She was employed at Golden Harvest Seed Co., Cordova. Joan Burkhart was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Macon, Mo. She married Charles Edmunds in 1948 in Bevier, Mo. Memorials may be made to Pathway Hospice. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Sondra Myers, Freeport, and Brenda Wilson, Ellenton, Fla.; a son, Michael, Walton, Ind.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and brothers, Tim Burkhart, Pahrump, Nev., and Wilbur Burkhart, of Arizona. She was preceded in death by a son, David Edmunds, on Nov. 28, 1998.

MILAN, Ill. -- Services for S. Ray Halley, of Casa Grande, Ariz., will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Family Funeral Services, Milan. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Halley died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. He retired in 1974 as an assembler at John Deere Harvester Works. He was born May 6, 1924, in Huntington, W.Va. He married Bernice Russell in 1946 in Rock Island. During World War II, he served in the Navy. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pamela Buster, Commerce City, Colo.; a stepson, Donald Turner, Milan; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mavadel Midkiff, Huntington.

Hilma Joles
MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Services for Hilma Joles, of Davenport, formerly of Maquoketa, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery , Maquoketa. Miss Joles died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Davenport Good Samaritan Home. In earlier years, she was employed as a secretary at Maquoketa High School and for the Maquoketa School Board. She was head librarian at Maquoketa Public Library for 17 years. She retired in 1981. She was born April 19, 1915, in Maquoketa. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include sisters, Patricia Peck, Seattle, and Florence Joles, Ridgecrest, Calif.

Francis Bartz
STERLING, Ill. -- Services for Francis E. Bartz, of 410 Oak Ave., will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Visitation is 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery , Morrison. Mr. Bartz died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999, at Coventry Village Retirement Center, Sterling. He was employed 38 years at Farmer's Elevator and Supply Co. Before that, he was employed as a construction worker. He was born March 30, 1922, in Sterling. He married Maxine Imel in 1971 in Rock Falls. He had married Shirley Williams. During World War II, he served in the Army. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patricia Bramm, Morrison; a stepdaughter, Pennie Cloud, Arlington, Texas; sons, Donald, Bridge City, Texas, and Steven, Cary, N.C.; a stepson, Lonnie Imel, Sterling; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Yoeckel, Grace Beswick and Irene Beswick, all of Morrison.
