MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Walter J. Fromer, of Lutheran Homes, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Muscatine. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery , Muscatine. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. After more than 25 years of employment, he retired from Russelloy Foundry, Durant. He also farmed part time. He was born on Feb. 10, 1920, in Muscatine. He married Letha Babbitt in 1945 in Muscatine. She died in 1996. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Homes. Survivors include daughters, Raetta Russell, Blue Springs, Mo., and Elsie Weikert, Muscatine; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brothers, Raymond and Ralph, both of Muscatine.

Nadine Rockafellow
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Memorial services for Nadine A. "Grandma Rock" Rockafellow, of Scottsdale, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Chaparral Christian Church, Scottsdale. Mrs. Rockafellow died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999. Green Acres Mortuary, Scottsdale, is in charge of arrangements. She was employed as a secretary in the engineering business. She was born in Muscatine, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Scottsdale Healthcare Hospice, 5111 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 275, Scottsdale, Ariz., Survivors include daughters, Karen Barton and Jude Bell; sons, Ronald Carlisle and Douglas Rockafellow; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Glenna Cochran
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Glenna Cochran, of 2 Karen Drive, will be 10 a.m. today at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. Mrs. Cochran died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at Muscatine Care Center. For many years, she worked in the cafeteria at Muscatine High School. Glenna Swank was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Muscatine. She married Vernon Cochran in 1948 in Muscatine. He died in 1998. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Association. Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Strong, Muscatine; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Leila Richardson, Estes Park, Colo.

Myrle Nutter
PROPHETSTOWN, Ill. -- Memorial services for Myrle D. Nutter, of Prophetstown, formerly of East Moline, will be 5 p.m. Tuesday at Gardner-Gibson Funeral Home, Prophetstown. Visitation is after the services until 8 p.m. Inurnment will be later in Eldorado Cemetery , rural Harrisburg. Mr. Nutter died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown. He had worked at the sewer and water department for the city of Moline. After that, he was employed several years as road commissioner for Harrisburg Township. He was born July 22, 1911, in Salem, Ore. He married Augusta DePape in 1933. She preceded him in death. He married Anna Boreland in 1950. She died in 1992. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include sons, Delbert Nutter, Prophetstown, Donald Nutter, Houston, and Jack Hartwell, Brownsville, Texas; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers, Marion Bentfield, Edna Lemm, Delores Bruneau, Kathleen Thomas and Philip and Arnold Nutter all of Minnesota.

Donald Finch
FULTON, Ill. -- Services for Donald L. Finch, of 22434 170th St., Carroll, Iowa, formerly of Fulton, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Fulton Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The body will be cremated. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Finch died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, Des Moines He was employed from 1949 to 1972 at General Electric, Morrison, and then at General Electric, Carroll, until 1987, as a manger of manufacturing engineering at the Carroll plant. He was born March 25, 1925, in Fulton. He married Florence Clausen in 1950 in Clinton, Iowa. During World War II, he served in the Air Force. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. Survivors include his wife; a son, Byron, Somerville, Ohio; four grandchildren; and a sister, Lou Robins, Rock Falls.

Anna Bickford
MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Services for Anna Bickford, of Maquoketa, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery , Maquoketa. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Bickford died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Jackson County Public Hospital , Maquoketa. She had worked at the Fishing Tackle Co. and Clinton Engines, both in Maquoketa. She also was employed as a cook at Maquoketa Country Club and as a nurse's aide at the former Hoffman Nursing Home, Maquoketa. Anna Noonan was born March 28, 1914, in South Garryowen. She married Jake Bickford in 1932 in Galena, Ill. He died in 1971. Memorials may be made to Anna Bickford Memorial Fund. Survivors include daughters, Shirley Govang, Concord, Calif., and Judy Woods, Maquoketa; sons, James "Jim," Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Edward, Moline; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Noonan, DeWitt.

Rosanne Farrell
DeWITT, Iowa -- Services for Rosanne T. Farrell, of DeWitt, and formerly of Delmar, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Delmar. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery , Delmar. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at Haylock-O'Hara and Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with a vigil at 7 p.m. Miss Farrell died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, after an automobile accident in DeWitt. She was employed as a service person at Springbrook Country Club, DeWitt. She was born Oct. 13, 1965, in Maquoketa. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include a daughter, Megan Hauan, North Branch, Minn.; her parents, Don and Jan Farrell, Delmar; a sister, Robin Schaefer, Davenport; brothers, Rich Farrell, Delmar, and Raymond Farrell, Mesa, Ariz.; and her grandmother, Marie Farrell, Maquoketa.

Evelyn Morel
MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Services for Evelyn L. Morel, of Maquoketa, formerly of Prairie du Chien, Wis., will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Prairie du Chien. Burial in Calvary Cemetery , Prairie du Chien. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien, with a Scripture service at 7:15 p.m. and a rosary at 4:15 p.m. Mrs. Morel died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa. Haylock-O'Hara and Lahey Home, Maquoketa, is in charge of local arrangements. Evelyn Chamberlain was born Oct. 31, 1920, in Steuben, Wis. She married Paul Morel in 1938 in Superior, Wis. He died in 1988. Survivors include daughters, Joan Delagardelle, Maquoketa, Anita Grunder, Clayton, Mary Briggs, Des Moines, and Cecile Simonson, Richland Center, Wis.; sons, Paul, Prairie du Chien, Dennis, Monona, and Thomas, Wausau, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Cleo Combs, Redding, Calif., Adeline Sutton, Prairie du Chien, and Ann Matti, Madison, Wis.; and a brother, Richard Chamberlain, Prairie du Chien.

Shirley Hubble
MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Shirley R. Hubble, formerly of 912 Cedar St., died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Muscatine. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Friday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Shirley Wintermute was born June 5, 1923, in Muscatine. She grew up working for her parents, Raymond and Lila Wintermute, at Wintermute's Ice Cream Store. She married Clyde Hubble in 1947 in Iowa City. They owned and operated Hubble's from 1949 until 1998. Memorials may be made to Muscatine Chapter of the American Red Cross. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cheryl Dickinson, Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; sons, Charles "Chuck," Tipton, Jon C., Woodland, Calif., and Andrew Mack, Littleton, Colo.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren.

Nellie Jones
EAST MOLINE -- Services for Nellie Jones, of East Moline, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery . Mrs. Jones died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline. Nellie Marshall was born Aug. 12, 1907, in Piasa, Ill. She married Robert Jones in 1929 in Piasa. He died in 1965. After her husband's death, she served as house mother at the Andover Children's Home for five years. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Moline. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Tanis, Geneseo, Ill.; a grandson; two step-granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Maye Johnson
DAVENPORT -- Services for Maye M. Johnson, of Manor Care Nursing Center, will be 10 a.m. Monday at McGinnis, Chambers and Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery , Clinton, Iowa. Visitation is 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at the nursing center. She was employed as a legal stenographer at the Davenport Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division. She retired in 1979. Before that, she was employed as a stenographer at the Scott County attorney's office and Leir-Petersen Law Firm, Davenport. Maye Mullen was born Aug. 25, 1910, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She married Bror T. "Ted" Johnson in Ottumwa. He died in 1966. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or a favorite charity. Survivors include many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Ronald Duncan
CUNNINGHAM, Tenn. -- Memorial services for Ronald F. Duncan, of Cunningham, will be 6:30 p.m. today at Memorial Drive Church of the Nazarene. He died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at his home. Mr. Duncan is survived by six grandchildren.

Bill Truby
MILAN, Ill. -- Services for Clyde William "Bill" Truby, of Milan, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Truby died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley. He was employed as a repair and maintenance man on machinery at Franks Foundry and Truby's Machine Repair Co. He was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Centerville, Iowa. He married Betty Salasberry in 1945 in Mystic, Iowa. She died in 1980. A memorial fund will be established. Survivors include daughters, Billie Donaldson, Moline, Judy Mundt, East Moline, and Linda Wilson, Davenport; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his mother, Opal Truby, Davenport; sisters, Colleen Christenson and Connie Squire, both of Davenport, and Charlotte Coehler, Omaha, Neb.; and brothers, Clio and Colan, both of Blue Grass, Iowa.

Karen Peters
DAVENPORT -- Services for Karen K. Peters, of Cincinnati, formerly of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Runge Mortuary and Crematory, Davenport. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Mrs. Peters died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in Cincinnati. She was employed as a high school mathematics teacher in Madrid, Iowa, and later in Cincinnati. Karen Kelling was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Davenport. Survivors include daughters, Julie Peters, Fort Bragg, N.C., and Cindy Stevenson, Seattle; her father, Edwin Kelling, Pine Island, Minn.; sisters, Reba Otero, San Diego, and Elizabeth Sawvell, Davenport; and brothers, Scott Kelling, Davenport, Dean Kelling, Phoenix, Ariz., and Roger Kelling, Peoria, Ill.

Ellen Hopper
DAVENPORT -- Services for Ellen O. Hopper, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. today at Davenport Memorial Park. No public visitation will be held. Miss Hopper died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Meadow Lawn Nursing Center, Davenport. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. She was born March 26, 1919, in Paterson, N.J. D. Brian Adlfinger
ROCK ISLAND -- Services for D. Brian Adlfinger, of Rock Island, will be 1 p.m. Friday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery , Rock Island Arsenal, with military services by Moline American Legion Post 246. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Adlfinger died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. He was an advanced planning facilities engineer at Case I.H., East Moline, for 39 years. He retired in October. He was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Rock Island, to Donald and Beverly (Bager) Adlfinger. He married Christine J. Corbin Bolle on July 25, 1992, in Moline. He attended Augustana College, Rock Island, where he was a member of Rho Nu Delta fraternity. He served in the Army as an assistant chaplain at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of Midwest Corvettes and United Auto Workers Local 1356, serving as officer and with the negotiating committee. He also was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He enjoyed auto racing, Quad-City Mallards, oil painting and hunting and fishing. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Survivors include his wife; a daughter and spouse, Colette and Tim Saathoff, Cordova, Ill.; a stepdaughter and spouse, Michelle and Matthew Perkins, Central Lake, Mich.; grandchildren, Matthew and Brett Saathoff, Cordova; a step-grandson, Alex Perkins, Central Lake; his mother, Beverly Adlfinger, Rock Island; a sister and spouse, Suzanne and Warren Schulz, Galva, Ill.; a nephew, Steven Schulz, Galva; and several cousins.

Clarence Plocke
DAVENPORT -- Private family services for Clarence E. Plocke, of Davenport, will be held. There is no visitation. Following his wishes, the body has been donated to the University of Iowa Anatomical Gift Department. Burial will be at a later date in National Cemetery , Rook Island Arsenal. Clarence died suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at his home, after suffering apparent heart failure. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Plocke was the founder and owner of Hydro Equipment Sales Co., Bettendorf. He served as president of the company and most recently was active in day-to-day sales and service. Clarence Edward Plocke was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Chicago, to Edward and Julia (Wieczorek) Plocke. He married Valentine Chervinsky on Aug. 16, 1947. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport, and a former member of The Outing Club and Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club. He also was a lifetime member of Davenport Kiwanis Club, serving as past president and past lieutenant governor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarence E. Plocke Memorial Fund. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Val; a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Steve Schebler, Blue Grass, Iowa; grandsons, Jim, Dan, Rich and Ted; and three great-grandchildren.
