Leonard Koetz
Memorial inurnment services were Jan. 28, 2000 for Leonard G. Koetz, 84, of Philomath, Ore., formerly of Odebolt, at Alsea Cemetery . The Rev. Gilbert Strom officiated with military rites provided by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post 10 under the direction of DeMoss-Durdan Garden Chapel in Corvallis, Ore.
Mr. Koetz died Jan. 25 at his home.
Mr. Koetz was born April 13, 1915, in Odebolt, the son of George and Edith (Salmon) Koetz. He attended schools in the Odebolt area. He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps as a young man in the 1930s.
He married Josephine Hare Aug. 1, 1940, in South Sioux City, Neb. He worked as a mechanic in Odebolt until he moved his family to Cor-vallis, Ore. in 1942. He helped in the construction of the U.S. Army's Camp Adair north of Corvallis, and Oregon State University's Gill Col-iseum.
He joined the Navy in January 1945 and served on the aircraft carrier USS Siboney.
He later moved his family to Lobster Valley, west of Corvallis in the Coast Range, where he farmed and worked at the Five Rivers Lumber Mill. He purchased the ARCO service station in Alsea in 1969, operating it until 1973. The next year he moved to Philomath where he worked for Willamette Industries until retiring in 1977.
He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 10.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Van Andel of Albany, Ore., and Linda Townsend of Lebanon, Ore.; three sons, James Koetz and Ronald Koetz, both of Philomath, and Mike Koetz of Alsea; a sister, Opal Tortora of Corvallis; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Benton Hospice Service, Inc., in care of DeMoss-Durdan Chapel, 815 NW Buchanan, Corvallis, Ore. 97330.

Phyllis Greer
Private services were Jan. 9, 2000 for Phyllis Greer, 74, of La Mesa, Calif.
Mrs. Greer died Jan. 5 at La Mesa.
Mrs. Greer was born Feb. 26, 1925, near Arthur, the daughter of John A. and Lesetta (Miller) Hemer. She graduated from Ida Grove High School in 1942.
She married Dick Greer Dec. 25, 1952. The couple had three children. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Steve and Jill Greer of Lemon Grove, Calif., and CSM Jeffrey and Jenny Greer of West Point, N.Y.; a daughter, Barbara Greer of Lemon Grove, Calif.; a sister, Dolores Schreiber of Battle Creek; and five grandchildren.

Michelle Kirk
Services were Jan. 22, 2000 for Michelle Lynn Kirk, 35, of Atlantic, formerly of Carroll, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. The Rev. Lawrence Burns officiated under the direction of Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.
Mrs. Kirk died Jan. 19 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
Mrs. Kirk was born May 11, 1964, at Denison, the daughter of John Lee and Marlene (Schrad) Blevins. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. She attended St. Lawrence Grade School and graduated from Carroll Kuemper High School in 1983.
She married Lloyd Lee Kirk Jr. Dec. 9, 1993 at Denison. She was a homemaker and lived in Denison prior to moving to Atlantic.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Larry Blevins of Atlantic; a daughter, Amanda Blevins of Atlantic; a son, Christopher Kirk of Atlantic; her mother and her husband, Marlene and Dick O'Tool of Lake View; her father, John Blevins of Ida Grove; four brothers and their wives, Scott and Nancy Blevins of Ida Grove, Brian and Holly Blevins of Olathe, Kan., and Todd and Dixie Blevins and Michael and Darla Blevins, all of Atlantic; and two grandmothers, Clara Schrad of Marshalltown and Helen Blevins of San Antio, Texas.

Jeanne Rizk
Services were Feb. 1, 2000 for Jeanne B. Rizk, 79, of Sioux City at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City. The Rev. Douglas Klein officiated with burial in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Rizk died Jan. 28 at Sunrise Manor Retirement Community in Sioux City.
Mrs. Rizk was born Jan. 2, 1921, in Burr Oak, the daughter of Charles and Veneta (Counsel) Beckner. She grew up in Clear Lake and graduated from Clear Lake High School. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in dietetics. She was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
She married Joseph E. Rizk Jan. 28, 1943, in Clear Lake. The couple lived in San Francisco, Calif. and Schenectady, N.Y. They came to Sioux City in 1946, where they went into the family business, Inter State Oil Company, later known as Inter State Auto Supply.
She had also worked for Massachusetts General Hospital, planning all patient meals, and for Stanford University Hospital.
She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Confraternity, Birthright of Sioux City and past president of St. Joseph Auxiliary. She was also a founding member and past president of PEO Chapter LD.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Robert C. Rizk of Santa Paula, Calif., Thomas J. and his wife, Janet Rizk of Carpinteria, Calif., and Dr. William and his wife, Pam Rizk of Sioux City; three daughters, Susan Haggar of Omaha, Neb., Joanie and her husband, Patrick Kuehl of Sioux City, and Julie Jennerjahn of Taos, N.M.; a sister and her husband, Becky and Frank "Rusty" Flores of Ida Grove; 15 grandchildren; and 21 nieces and nephews.

Ervin Lichtenberg
Services were Jan. 21, 2000 for Ervin Lichtenberg, 81, of Arthur at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, with a military flag presentation by American Legion McNamara-Moore Post No. 61, under the direction of Christensen-Ciha Funeral Home in Ida Grove. Inurnment will held at a later date.
Mr. Lichtenberg died Jan. 18 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove.
Mr. Lichtenberg was born Aug. 12, 1918, near Hanover, the son of Henry and Annie (Getzmier) Lich-tenberg. He attended rural schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He married Alvina Werkmeister April 30, 1947, in Schaller. The couple made their home in Arthur. He was employed with Godbersen-Smith Construction Co. in Ida Grove for 46 years, retiring in October 1996.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jim and his wife, Judy Lichtenberg, Jerome and his wife, Becky Lichtenberg, and Monte Lichtenberg, all of Ida Grove; three daughters, Sharon Bennigsdorf, Audrey and her husband, Rick Wonder, and Cindy and her husband, Dale Hinrickson, all of Ida Grove; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Lichtenberg of Schaller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elsie Rice
Services were Jan. 20, 2000 for Elsie Louise Rice, 88, of Holstein, at Barker Funeral Home in Holstein. The Revs. Curtis Benson and Victor Raemaker officiated with burial in Holstein Cemetery.
Mrs. Rice died Jan. 17 at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove.
Mrs. Rice was born Aug. 5, 1911, in Holstein, the daughter of Ernest and Sophie (Schacht) Rolfs. She attended country school in the Holstein area.
She married Roland Rice Jan. 30, 1935, in Holstein. The couple farmed near Holstein until his death. In 1973, they were honored by the Iowa Department of Agriculture for farming the land for more than 50 years. She remained on the farm until entering Willow Dale Care Center in Battle Creek in August 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene and her husband, Dean Roggensees, of Storm Lake, and Luann Rice of Sioux City; a sister, Dorothy Freese of Holstein; two grandchildren, David and Duane Mueggenberg; and two great-grandchildren.

Alvie Henrichsen
Services were Jan. 19, 2000 for Alvie Alfred Henrichsen, 79, of Galva at St. John Lutheran Church in Galva. The Rev. Bob Alexander officiated with burial in Galva Township East Cemetery in Galva under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Holstein.
Mr. Henrichsen died Jan. 17 at Holstein Good Samaritan Center.
Mr. Henrichsen was born Feb. 21, 1920, in Cushing, the son of Carsten and Gesena (Janssen) Henrichsen. He attended school in Cushing through the eighth grade.
He married Elsie Koeppen Jan. 23, 1949, in Ute. He farmed in the Galva area his entire life.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Galva.
Survivors include two sons, Clayton and his wife, Judy Henrichsen, of Spencer, and Randy Hen-richsen of Flagtown, N.J.; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Doug Fulghum of Gilbert, Ariz., and Peggy and Charles Bur-gell of Ponca City, Okla.; five grandchildren, Lesley, Alina, Nicole, Brandon and Kyle; one great-granddaughter, Hailey; a brother and his wife, Albert and Evelyn Henrichsen of Cushing; a brother-in-law, Herbert Koeppen of Mapleton; four sisters-in-law, Pearl Henrichsen of Holstein, Hilda Henrichsen of Galva, Frances Koeppen of Mapleton and Marie and her husband, Lester Miller, of Moses Lake, Wash.; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Lance Dublinske
Memorial services were Jan. 19, 2000 for Lance Jason Dublinske, 48, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Odebolt, at Church on the Move in Tulsa, Okla., under the direction of Moore Memory Chapel in Tulsa.
Mr. Dublinske died Jan. 16 in Tulsa.

Earl Ebert
Services were Jan. 20, 2000 for Earl R. Ebert, 81, of Washta at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Quimby. The Rev. Don Meyer officiated with burial in Galva Lutheran Cemetery in Galva under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home in Cherokee.
Mr. Ebert died Jan. 16 at a Sioux City hospital.
Mr. Ebert was born Dec. 17, 1918, near Galva, the son of Herman and Minnie (Siebert) Ebert. He graduated from Galva-Schaller High School in 1935. He farmed near Washta for 46 years.
He was previously a 4-H leader for the Cavaliers and a member of the Saddle Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Janane Ebert of Denver, Colo.; two sons and their wives, Jerry and Lynn Ebert and Eugene and Dawn Ebert, all of Washta; a sister, Dorothy Ebert of Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren, Deborah Kadera, Denise Revis, Jerad, Josh, Justin, Adam and Noah Ebert and Kendra and Kevin Ebert; and two great-grandchildren.

Jacqlyn Lindgren
Services were Jan. 21, 2000 for Jacqlyn I. Lindgren, 54, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Sioux City, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux City. The Rev. John W. Meyer officiated with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Mrs. Lindgren died Jan. 19 at her daughter's home in Council Bluffs.
Mrs. Lindgren was born March 27, 1945, in Sioux City, the daughter of Jack E. and Irene (Lester) Reddick. She was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Riverside High School in 1963. She was employed as a cook at Plaza Bowl for 25 years.
She moved to Dakota City in 1973 and to Correctionville in 1987. She moved to Council Bluffs in March 1999.
She was a member of Iowa Foresters Association and was a Siouxland bowler for more than 30 years.
Survivors include her mother of Des Plaines, Ill.; four daughters, Charlee and her husband, Terry Broker of Council Bluffs, Michele and her husband, Chip Molstad, of Sioux City, Rebecca and her husband, Jason Byers, of Washta, and Jill Lindgren of Holstein; two sons, Rodney and his wife, Stefani Lindgren, of Moville and John Lindgren of Fort Dodge; a sister and her husband, Eugenia and Jerry Kellogg of Des Plaines, Ill.; and 13 grandchildren, Jennifer, Cody, Ashlee, Abby, Joseph, Kaysi, Sarah, Allie, Devon, Leigh, Austin, Robby and Ryan.
