DOROTHY AMY

OSAGE - Dorothy Amy, 75, of Osage died Tuesday (June 13, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, with the Rev. Ron Stein officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Champion Funeral Home.

She was born April 29, 1925, north of Osage in Mitchell County, the daughter of Booker and Katherine (Hennessey) Jenkins. She graduated from Orchard High School.

Dorothy married Eldon D. Amy on June 1, 1971, in Osage. They made their home in Osage. Eldon died Jan. 28, 1997.

Dorothy worked at the White House Nursing Home and Mitchell County Home Health Care. Dorothy was also a foster parent.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Osage.

She is survived by four daughters, Janice Session and her husband, Gary, of Tucson, Ariz., Neva Jane Schmidt and her husband, Rick, of Augusta, Wis., Jenell Wad and her husband, Jerry, of Nashua, and Josephine Roe and her husband, Richard, of Lerado, Mo.; one son, David Tillotson and his wife, Kim, of Osage; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldon; a grandson, Roger David Matthews; and a great-grandson, Cohl Lampman.

MELVIN UNRUH

McINTIRE - Melvin Unruh, 69, of McIntire passed away Tuesday (June 13, 2000) at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (June 17, 2000) at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church in McIntire, with Minister Leon Koehn officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery in rural McIntire.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville.

Melvin was born July 21, 1930, in McPherson, Kan., son of Alpha and Selma Carrie Unruh. He attended local schools.

He married Catherine Sommers on March 4, 1972, in Hartville, Ohio. He was engaged in farming.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine of McIntire; three sons, Frank of McIntire, John and his wife, Beverly, of Atwater, Calif. and Richard and his wife, Trudell, of St. Ansgar; two daughters, Karen and her husband, Gary Boeckner, of Hesston, Kan. and Marilyn and her husband, Willis Koehn, of McIntire; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Alpha Unruh Jr. of Kansas; and three sisters, Julia and her husband, Curt Ensz, of Scotia, Neb., Darlene and her husband, Robert Esau, of Atwater, Calif., and Clara and her husband, Richard Loewen, of Atwater, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gladys Esau Unruh on Jan. 30, 1971; and one granddaughter.

RUSSELL WARWICK

HAMPTON - Russell Warwick, 39, of Hampton, died Wednesday (June 14, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton, with Dick Parker officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Sheffield.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home.

ROBERT M. KUDEJ

BRITT - Robert M. Kudej, 81, of Britt, passed away Tuesday (June 13, 2000) at the Westview Care Center in Britt.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt, with a Catholic Workman's rosary at 7 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Robert Matt Kudej, the son of Matt and Emma (Hejlik) Kudej, was born June 8, 1919, on a farm southeast of Britt. He attended the rural schools of Liberty Township and farmed with his parents. He also drove a truck for Zrostlik Tire Service.

On Jan. 20, 1942, he married Gladys Rokos at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They farmed with his father-in-law, James Rokos, for several years. They then farmed for themselves and operated a large dairy.

Bob also worked at Winnebago Industries for six years and later at IMT in Garner from 1981 to 1993. After retiring in 1995, they moved to Britt. He resided at Westview Care Center for the past two months.

He enjoyed and was proud of his family, friends, gardening and playing cards.

He had been a lifelong member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church until transferring his membership to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was a member of the Catholic Workman's Lodge for over 70 years. He was also a former member of the Lion's Club in Garner.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of Britt; a son, Wayne Kudej and his wife, Becky, of Britt; three daughters, Sherry Buhr and her husband, Marvin, of Marion, Mary Lou Williams and her husband, Darrell, of Marion and Judy Hubler and her husband, Robert, of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Goepel and her husband, Marty, Jeff Kudej and his wife, Robin, Andy Kudej and his fiancee, Angie Dornbier, Nick Kudej, Ryan Buhr, Ben Williams, Kim Williams and Tyler Hubler; three great-grandchildren, Steven Goepel, Keven Goepel and Brice Kudej; a brother, Don Kudej and his wife, Florence, of Forest City; and a sister-in-law, Stella Kudej, of Britt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Brent Hubler; and a brother, Eugene Kudej.

WODEN - Diana Schleuger, 42, died Saturday (June 17, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Woden, with the Rev. Arlen Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Britt, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

KENNETH E. KOCK

GREENE -Kenneth Eugene Kock, 65, of 110 S. Fourth Street, died Saturday (June 17, 2000) at the USA Healthcare in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Greene, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Greene.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene, with a public scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the services at the church Wednesday.

ADOLPH "BUTCH" WOLFF

CHARLES CITY - Adolph "Butch" Wolff, 81, of 1206 F Street, died Friday (June 16, 2000) at his residence following a brief illness.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main and Gilbert St., Charles City, with the Rev. Dennis D. Niezwaag, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City, with graveside military honors conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Street, Charles City. The family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday.

Adolph Alfred "Butch" Wolff was born in Bradford (near Nashua) on Nov. 29, 1918, the son of Adolph Gustaf and Amelia (Gutzmer) Wolff. He attended school at the Riverton Township School. Butch began his career at the former Oliver/White Farm Tractor factory in 1936.

He was drafted into the United States Army on April 21, 1942. He served his country during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on Nov. 4, 1945.

During his time in the Army, he met his future wife, and on June 9, 1946, at the St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua, he was united in marriage to Alice Mary Martykan by the Rev. Jahr. Butch continued his long tenure in the foundry at Oliver/White Farm, retiring in 1975.

Butch was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City, where he was an usher. While at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua, he served as the treasurer for the Lutheran Brotherhood of the church and the Brotherhood dartball team. He was a life member of the VFW Post No. 3914 and a member of the American Legion Shannon Wilson Post No. 174, both of Charles City. He was a White Farm Retiree and while working, a member of the UAW Local No. 1315 of Charles City.

Butch was a devoted gardener, raising a large garden at his home and later at his son's home. He also enjoyed fishing at various locations around the area.

Those thankful for sharing Butch's life are his wife of more than 50 years, Alice, of Charles City; a son and his wife, Russell and Linda Wolff, of Charles City; a brother and his wife, Albert and Merle Wolff, of Nashua; and a sister, Mrs. Martha Crooks, of Ionia.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry, who died in 1963; and a sister, Margaret Bahlman.

Those considering an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City satellite.
