Robert W. Fillmore, 81, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 10:03 AM Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.

Born April 8, 1925 in Rochester, Minnesota, he was the son of RalphW. and Sadie Welsh Fillmore.

On June 9, 1946 he married Helen Schooley at Brighton, Iowa.

He graduated from Brighton High School in Brighton, Iowa in 1942. He was a World War II Navy Veteran.

He worked as a printer for Craftsman Press for 35 years, retiring in 1990.

Mr. Fillmore was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and was Elder Emeritus. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aeries 150, Past Worthy President of Aeries 150, Secretary of Iowa State Eagles for 8 years, Secretary of Burlington Aeries 150 for 13 years and was named to Iowa Eagles Hall of Fame in 2001.

Survivors include his wife Helen Fillmore of Burlington; three sons, Kevin (Diane) Fillmore of Plainfield, Indiana, Kirk (Teresa) Fillmore of Mediapolis, Iowa and Kent (Diane) Fillmore of Burlington, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
His parents; one brother; and one sister preceded him in death.

Debby Lynn Fisher

March 31, 1957 - December 26, 2005

Debby Lynn Fisher, 48, of Burlington, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

Born March 31, 1957, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Lewis and Margaret Schmidt Thomas. She first married Randy Longcor. They later divorced. On May 3, 1990, she married Louis “Butch” Fisher in Mount Pleasant.

Mrs. Fisher was a teacher’s aide at Head Start for five years and a program instructor at Hope Haven for 10 years.

She loved to sew, cross-stitch and cook.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Angela Andrews and Rhonda (Brent) Levinson both of Burlington, and Amanda Collier (Shawn Bowman) of Dallas City, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Kim (Shane) Litton Mediapolis, Angie Delgado of Burlington, Tammi (Tim) Edwards of Wapello, and Tanya (Wade) Erickson of Sperry; two stepsons, Arthur (Nicole) Fisher of Burlington and Andrew Fisher of Mediapolis; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Cyndie Smith and Peggy (Mark) Collins, both of Burlington; two brothers, Raleigh (Nancy) Helmick of Burlington and Timothy (Becky) Helmick of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established.

Ray E. Fisher
May 6, 1922 - April 6, 2006

Ray E. Fisher, 83 of Burlington since 1923, died at 11:03 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2006, at Great River Medical Center.

Born May 6, 1922 in Grand Forks, North Dakota, he was the son of Ray E., Sr. and Blanche C. Brolin Fisher. On February 15, 1947 he married Jeanette M. Sleater in Burlington.

Mr. Fisher was a 1939 graduate of Burlington High School and attended Burlington Junior College. He served in the Iowa State Guard during World War II. He worked as a quality supervisor at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant for 31 years, retiring in 1985 and also as an x-ray technician.

He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Kiwanis, and Keenagers. He was a RSVP volunteer since 1988 serving with the Welcome Center at the Port of Burlington and also volunteered at Great River Medical Center. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing bridge, reading, boating on the river, and traveling – especially to his children’s homes. He was an avid Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette M. Fisher of Burlington; two daughters, Nancy (David) Wenstrand of Columbia, Maryland and Gretchen (Thomas) Reilly of Des Moines; two sons, Robert (Donna) Fisher of Surprise, Arizona and Timothy (Jacalyn) Fisher of Denton, Texas; seven grandchildren, Patricia Sill, Julie Wenstrand, Douglas Wenstrand, Brian Fisher, Kyle Reilly, Kera Reilly, and Kelly Fisher; three great grandchildren, Caroline Wenstrand, Andrew Wenstrand and Zachary Sill; one brother, Robert C. Fisher of Seattle, Washington and New York; one sister, Margery DuRoss of Seattle, Washington; and one niece and one nephew.

His parents and one sister, Marian Rickett preceded him in death.

Memorials have been established for Zion United Church of Christ or the donor’s choice.

LeRoy S. Fleenor
March 17, 1919 - March 6, 2006

LeRoy S. Fleenor, 86, of Burlington, died at 9:57 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2006 at his home.

Born March 17, 1919 in Moline, Illinois, he was the son of Otis Oscar and Anna Velorva Smith Fleenor. On May 24, 1941 he married Grace E. Derby in Kahoka, Missouri. She died November 15, 2002.

Mr. Fleenor attended school in Detroit, Michigan and the Iowa School for Deaf in Council Bluffs. He worked at Norris Factory in Los Angeles, California, Burlington Lithography Company for 12 years, J.I. Case for 9 years and Murray Iron Works for 18 years. He also owned and operated his own business, Fleenor Janitor Supply, for 33 years.

He enjoyed football and track and was All American in basketball earning many ribbons and medals in sports. He was an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoyed traveling, and was a math wizard. As a car lover, he took immaculate care of his cars and would trade cars every year and two. Antique model cars was also a hobby.

Mr. Fleenor was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church (LCMS) of Burlington and a past member of Burlington’s Silent Deaf Club for 15 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Bob) Williams of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Marilyn (Neal) Hagen of Pavo, Georgia; seven grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

His wife, parents; brother, sister, one grandson, and one great grandson preceded him in death.

Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice and Deaf Lutheran Ministries.

Henry E. "Jack" Forquer, Jr.

February 22, 1970 - October 28, 2006

-Family Visitation: Thursday, November 2nd, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Lunning
Chapel.
-According to his wishes, the body of Mr. Forquer will be cremated following his
visitation.

Henry E. “Jack” Forquer, Jr. 36, of New London, Iowa and formerly of Carman, Illinois died Saturday, October 28, 2006 in West Burlington.

Born February 22, 1970 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Henry E. “Jack” Sr. and Peggy Lynn Lee Burns Forquer.

Mr. Forquer worked in production at Tyson Foods in Columbus Junction, Iowa and previously had worked at Wal-Mart Super Center in West Burlington. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, cutting wood, gardening and playing with children.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include one daughter, Amber Lynn Forquer of Yuma, Arizona; one son, Collin Ray Forquer of Plano, Illinois; his father, Henry “Jack” Forquer of New London, Iowa; mother, Peggy Burns of Carman, Illinois; one sister, Melissa (Chris) Kettler of New London, Iowa; four brothers, John (Heather) Krow of Dubuque, Iowa, Dustin (Tawnya) Forquer of New London, Dustin Tucker of Burlington and Bobby Eugene Burns of West Burlington; his maternal grandmother, Betty Jane Rosenow of Carman; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews.

His paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, one aunt and one nephew preceded him in death.

Danielle Kettler will sing "Who Am I" at the visitation.

According to his wishes, the body of Mr. Forquer will be cremated following the visitation.

Lucille Freed
November 1, 1914 - April 15, 2006

Lucille Freed, 91, of Burlington, died at 3:25 PM, Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Great River Medical Center.

Born November 1, 1914 in Stronghurst, Illinois, the daughter Algert and Esther Hartquist Nolen. On July 5, 1934 she married Elias Rudolph Freed in Stonghurst, Illinois. He preceded her in death in April of 1977.

Mrs. Freed was a graduate of Stronghurst High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where she was a member of Ladies Aid. She enjoyedembroidery, crocheting, and cooking.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty (Richard) Mauer of Burlington, Bonnie (Richard) Bastin of Las Vegas, Nevada and Karen (Richard) Peasley of Stronghurst, Illinois; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; one brother, Harold Nolen of Stronghurst, Illinois and one sister Doris Miller of Greeley, Colorado.

Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.

A memorial has been established for Messiah Lutheran Church or Great River Hospice.
