GERTRUDE ALBAUGH

NASHUA - Gertrude Albaugh, 91, of Nashua, died Tuesday morning (March 20, 2001) at Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael's Catholic Church with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery , both in Nashua.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Chenoweth & Son Funeral Home in Nashua, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. scripture service. There will be additional visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Gertrude Albaugh was born on Oct. 25, 1909, at Garner to Joseph and Eva (Haaf) Schneider. She attended Garner High School.

She was united in marriage to John Albaugh on Sept. 22, 1928, in Charles City. She was a housewife.

Gertrude is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Delores and Robert Graham, of Nashua, Donna Randolph, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Jane and Richard Vohsman, of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Albaugh, on Jan. 29, 1996; her parents; a son-in-law, William Randolph; seven brothers; two sisters; and a great-granddaughter, Melanie Ann Graham.

CONSTANTINE KREGOTIS

MASON CITY - Constantine "Gus" Kregotis, 73, of 302 Second St. N.E., died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Joseph Mirowski of Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church.

There are no immediate survivors.

WILBIRD DEAN WALKER

GREENE - Wilbird Dean "Billy" Walker, 70, of 205 S. Fourth St., died Wednesday (March 21, 2001) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday (March 26, 2001) at Reid's Funeral Chapel in Greene. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery , Greene.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at Reid's Funeral Chapel and one hour before services on Monday.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Billy Walker Memorial Fund in care of the family.

FLOYD - James P. McHenry, 85, of 409 Monroe St., Floyd, died Wednesday (March 21, 2001) at home.

FOREST CITY - Lori Twait, 41, of Forest City, died Wednesday (March 21, 2001) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

BETTY VANNURDEN

KLEMME - Betty VanNurden, 77, formerly of Klemme, died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the United Methodist Church in Chatfield, Minn., with the Rev. Dennis Cox-Townsend officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme, with the Rev. Curtis DeVance officiating.

Memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation.

THELMA YOUNG

MASON CITY - Thelma Young, of 908 N. Federal Ave., died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Bill Poland of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Major Erickson Funeral Home and will continue until time of services on Friday.

Memorials to Hospice of North Iowa in her name.

Thelma Young was born in Blue Earth, Minn., the daughter of James and Bertha (Morgan) Hood. Her family later moved to Mason City where she attended Mason City schools.

Thelma enjoyed spending her spare time with her family. During these times they enjoyed many fishing trips and working around the race track. She also enjoyed collecting dolls, spending time in the outdoors and working with flowers.

She will be dearly missed by two sons, Larry Ellis and his wife, Caren, of Mason City, and Jerry Young and his wife, Roxann, of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Mark Ellis of Mason City, Michael Ellis and his wife, Jacquie, of Atlanta, Ga., Pam Snyder and special friend, John, of Des Moines, Brenton Young of Clear Lake and Kara Young of Cedar Falls; one great-grandchild, Rosie Snyder, of Des Moines; one sister, Jean Hood, of Mason City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; three sisters; and one brother.

HAROLD OELTJENBRUN

MASON CITY - Harold Oeltjenbrun, 79, of 1737 Hillcrest Drive, died Tuesday (March 20, 2001) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa.

Harold Charles Oeltjenbrun was born April 28, 1921, in Swaledale, the son of Henry and Clara (Olaff) Oeltjenbrun.

He was united in marriage to Wilma Osland on Nov. 26, 1941, in Albert Lea, Minn. He farmed in Rockwell for many years. During that time he also worked part-time at the American Crystal Sugar Company. He retired from farming in the 1980s.

After farming he and Wilma wintered in McAllen, Texas, until her death in 1998.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens of Mason City.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing with his family, playing cards, and going to dances. He will be remembered as a loving and caring man with a special sense of humor.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Bonnie Anderson and husband, Harold, of Goodell, Sharon Calender and husband, Randy, of Charles City, and Larry Oeltjenbrun and wife, Jean, of Branson West, Mo.; six grandchildren, Dennis Anderson, Michael Calender, Michelle Jackson, Rhonda and Bryan Oeltjenbrun and Andy Bratrud; three great-grandchildren, Austin Jackson, Alan Jackson and Dylan Oeltjenbrun; three sisters, Ethel, Irene and Betty; and one brother, Paul Oeltjenbrun.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma; and two brothers, Merl and James.

GORDON M. ALLISON

MESA, Ariz. - Gordon M. Allison, 80, of 108 N. Greenfield Rd. #2061, Mesa, Ariz. 85205-7822, died Wednesday (April 4, 2001) at the Hospice Center in Mesa.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Mesa. The body will be cremated.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date in Osage.
