ANNA CHURCHOUSE
BELMOND - Anna Churchouse, 87, passed away Friday (March 12, 1999) at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond with Pastor Marcus Pluff officiating. Burial will take place in the Amsterdam Cemetery , Goodell.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home.
Anna, the daughter of Fredrick and Anna Zell Albers was born Nov. 24, 1911, near Klemme, Iowa. She grew up in the rural Klemme and Goodell areas. She attended school in Goodell, graduating from the Goodell High School in 1930. After high school Anna worked at the Case Hotel and at The Candy Kitchen in Belmond.
Anna was united in marriage with Robert Churchouse on Dec. 6, 1947, in Belmond. The couple made their home in Belmond. They lived nearly 50 years in the same house, where Anna was a housewife and mother. She was not only a mother to her daughter JoAnn, but also a mother to her granddaughter, Amy.
Anna was a common, honest person who treasured the friends she spent time with. Her family and friends will long remember the nicknames she had for everything.
She was a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Belmond, and a charter member of the Belmond Women's Bowling Association. Anna served on the county election board for many years and was very knowledgeable on politics and elections.
Anna is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughter, JoAnn Covington of Goodell; granddaughter, Amy Covington of Waterloo; sister, Jennie Lieuwen of Belmond; brother, Edward Albers of Mason City; three nieces, Shirley Fulton of Belmond, Alice Bryant of Minneapolis, and Christine Uhlenhopp of Alexander; three nephews, Alton Albers of Nevada, Mike Bryant of Ames, and Patrick Dunavan of Mason City; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Fred, Alvin and John; and one sister, Johanna.

KENSETT - Carma Brunsvold, 85, died Saturday (March 13, 1999) at the Manly Care Center, Manly.

OPAL M. TUTHILL
MASON CITY - Opal M. Tuthill, 76, of 302 Second St. N.E., died Friday (March 12, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery
with the Rev. Ronald Stein of the First Baptist Church officiating. There will be no visitation. Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., is in charge of arrangements.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct memorials to the Opal Tuthill Memorial Fund.
Opal was born Jan. 26, 1923, the daughter of Leo J. and Mildred Mae (Thorp) Crawford in Mason City. She attended the Mason City public school system. Opal was a lifelong resident of the Mason City area, and was a waitress most of her working years.
Opal enjoyed spending time and energy collecting different types of teddy bears.
Those thankful for having shared Opal's life include one sister, Dorothy Shahan of Colstrip, Mont.; and one brother, Oscar and his wife, Deloris Crawford, of Mason City.
Mrs. Tuthill was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Vera Medlang; and two brothers, Charles and Ralph Crawford.

GREENE - Ivan Kivell, 91, a former resident of Greene, died Saturday (March 13, 1999) at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with the Rev. Curt Schneider of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Charles City, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery , Charles City.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
ELIZABETH VENTEICHER
OSAGE - Elizabeth Venteicher, 83, died Friday (March 12, 1999) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Algona, with the Rev. Steve Broderson officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with a prayer service at 4 p.m.
Elizabeth was born May 26, 1915, at Algona, the daughter of Emmet and Marie (Schmitt) Paetz. She attended St. Cecilia School. Elizabeth married L.A. Venteicher on Feb. 19, 1935, at Algona. They made their home in Algona, and then moved to Osage in 1939. In 1965, they moved to California. Her husband died Feb. 1, 1974. Elizabeth has been a resident of the Faith Home in Osage for the past five years.
She is survived by a daughter, Laurel Jean Marr and her husband, William, of Clear Lake; four grandchildren, Michael Marr and his wife, Lisa, of Los Gatos, Calif., Elizabeth Wilkinson and her husband, David, of Sandy, Utah, Charles Marr and his wife, Belen, of Whittier, Calif., and Katherine Marr of Opportunity Village, Clear Lake; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Boleneus of Algona, and Doris Ferguson of Algona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, L.A. Venteicher in 1974.
ESTHER LUCILLE SENEY
INDIANOLA - Esther Lucille Seney, 85, died Friday (March 12, 1999) at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester, following a sudden illness. She was born on Aug. 28, 1913, in Algona, to Henry and Josie (Rawson) Dearchs. She graduated from Algona High School and Iowa State Teachers College.
She taught for a short time in Mason City, prior to her marriage to Ray Seney on June 16, 1940, in Algona. Four children were born to this union. They made their home in Mason City. Esther and her husband spent summers in Clear Lake, eventually moving to Clear Lake in 1958. In 1971, they moved to Phoenix and later Scottsdale, Ariz. Ray died in 1977. Esther remained there until 1991, moving to a retirement community in Indianola. For the past two weeks she has resided in the Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point.
She is survived by two sons, Ken Seney of Elkader, and Jim Seney of Des Moines; a daughter, Jane Wood, West Des Moines; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Bill Dearchs of Algona; and a sister, Bernice Pedersen of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Preceded in death by husband; parents; son, Rick; brother, Russell Dearchs; and two sisters, Julia and Elizabeth Dearchs.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church Wayside Chapel in Mason City. The Rev. Sharon Betsworth will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery , Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City.

MASON CITY - Richard "Dick" W. Olson, 60, of 711 Crescent Place, died Saturday (March 13, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church, 318 N. Adams Ave.

CARMA N. BRUNSVOLD
KENSETT - Carma N. Brunsvold, 85, died Saturday (March 13, 1999) at the Manly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Kensett, with the Rev. Selmer "Sam" Hernes officiating. Burial will be in the Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Conner Colonial Chapel, 99 11th St. South, Northwood, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.
Memorials may be directed to the Manly Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manly, or to the Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Kensett, so that new hymn books, "The Other Hymn Book," might be purchased in memory of Carma.
Carma N. Brunsvold was born Dec. 15, 1912, in Worth County, the daughter of Nels M. and Carrie (Nelson) Stumo. She was a lifelong resident of Worth County and a longtime member of Elk Creek Lutheran Church, Kensett, in which she was both baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She was also married to Ernest Brunsvold at Elk Creek Lutheran Church.
Carma was always a very pleasant, happy person and she was an excellent cook. She really enjoyed doing things for people. She most enjoyed spending time in her church, where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the church choir and Ladies Aid and worked in the ladies' circles. Carma liked to play the piano and sing hymns in Norwegian.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Theresa "Ted" Havens, Mason City; and one sister-in-law, Julia Stumo, Northwood; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, three sisters, one nephew and one niece.
