MASON CITY - Ernest J. "Bud" Murray, 78, of 850 15th St. S.E., died Thursday (April 1, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

SELMA AMBROSON

FOREST CITY - Selma Ambroson, 94, of Forest City, died Friday (April 2, 1999) at the Good Samaritan Center, Forest City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Leland, with the Rev. Dan Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery , Leland.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, Forest City.

GEORGE BEEK

GOODELL - George Beek, 83, of Goodell, died Friday (April 2, 1999) at home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, Klemme, with the Rev. Georgia White-Kisslring officiating. Burial will be in Ell Township Cemetery , Klemme.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Dugger-Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, and one hour prior to services at the church.

WILBERT MELVIN 'SWEDE' NUEHRING

CLEAR LAKE - Wilbert Melvin "Swede" Nuehring, 74, of 1509 Southfield Place, Clear Lake, died Thursday (April 1, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura, with the Rev. Daird Korth officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery , Mason City, with military honors by the Clear Lake V.F.W.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, and one hour before services on Monday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the Wilbert Melvin Nuehring Memorial Fund.

Swede was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Kanawha, the son of Otto and Ruth (Johnson) Nuehring. He attended school in Kanawha.

Swede served in the United States Army in World War II and during 1946-47 in the Military Police war crimes, Tokyo, Japan.

Swede married Marilyn Watts on Jan. 25, 1952, in Albert Lea, Minn. Swede spent his entire life farming around Mason City, Ventura and Clear Lake areas, retiring in 1989. He still enjoyed going out to the family farm and helping his son, Tim, farm.

He also enjoyed playing cards, traveling with his wife on many charter bus trips, spending his mornings at the Ventura Elevator drinking coffee, and in the afternoon, meeting his friends at McDonalds for coffee.

Swede was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Ventura, and a member of the Farm Bureau.

Swede is survived by his wife, Marilyn Nuehring, Clear Lake; mother, Ruth Nuehring, Mason City; three children, Tim Nuehring and his wife, Coral, Mason City, Kurt Nuehring and his wife, Kathy, Woodbury, Minn., and Becky Wood and her husband, Tom, of Garner; six grandchildren, Tania Nuehring, Zackery Nuehring, Racine Wood, Grant Wood, Emily Nuehring and Abigail Nuehring; two brothers, Orvall Nuehring and his wife, Virginia, of Mason City, and Bob Nuehring, Mason City; two sisters, Beulah Fairbanks and her husband, Richard, Mason City, and Alice Rowe, Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otto Nuehring; and one sister, Lucille Stakee.

IRENE V. DANNEN

MASON CITY - Irene V. Dannen, 76, of 908 15th St. S.E., died Thursday (April 1, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Swaledale Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Wittern officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery , Swaledale.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Grarup Funeral Home in Sheffield.

Irene was born on March 8, 1923, at Alexander, the daughter of John and Laura (Stadtlander) Mulenbruck. She graduated from Swaledale High School.

She was united in marriage to Else O. Dannen on Sept. 16, 1941, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They farmed in the Swaledale-Sheffield area until 1960. They moved to Swaledale, where she was a school bus driver for 25 years for Rockwell-Swaledale School District.

Irene was a member of the United Methodist Church Women and was the City Clerk of Swaledale for quite a few years.

Irene liked playing cards, dancing, bowling and golfing. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Irene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Else; her children, Sharon Burkhart and her husband, Carl, of Perry, Linda Schulz and her husband, Paul, of Hampton, Vern and his wife, Janelle, of Plymouth, Ron and his wife, Leilani, of Mason City, and Duane "Pete" and his wife, Marge, of Mason City; 15 grandchildren, Doug Bonjour of Perry, Curt Bonjour of Perry, David Schulz of Spencer, Joni Kew of Hampton, Nick Schulz of Sheffield, Dallas Schulz of Hampton, Amy Stoeffler of Mason City, Kari Pate of Manly, Aaron Dannen of Manly, Ryan Dannen of Mason City, Kiley Dannen of Mason City, Echo Cash of Mason City, Dara Dannen of Mason City, Kaci Dannen of Mason City, Jorden Dannen of Mason City; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Muhlenbruck and his wife, Alvina, of Clear Lake; sisters-in-law, Adeline Muhlenbruck, of Thornton, and Pat Knutson and husband, Gary, of Forsythe, Mo.; sister, Mardene Berding, of Mason City; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Muhlenbruck; three brothers, Mervin, LaVerle and Laurel.

JUDITH A. KINGERY

MASON CITY - Judith A. Kingery, 59, of 16139 245th St., Mason City, died Wednesday night (March 31, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St. S.E., Mason City. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald Stein of the First Baptist Church. A gathering was held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. Judith was cremated.

Judith was born on Sept. 22, 1939, at Mason City, the daughter of Charles and Alberta (Harms) Young. She graduated from Mason City and then studied Aeronautics at San Mateo, Calif.

She was united in marriage to Roger D. Kingery on Sept. 22, 1971, at Greene, where they lived for a short time. They moved to Mason City in 1972 and have lived here ever since. Judy was a member of the Women of the Moose and the NRA.

She enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden, all kinds of crafts, including painting, working with wood and collecting antiques, which included Norman Rockwell plates, Redwing Crocks and clocks.

Those thankful for sharing Judith's life include her husband of 27 years, Roger, Mason City; her son, Christopher Allen Kingery, Clear Lake; her daughter-in-law, Christine Kingery, Mason City; two grandsons, Christopher Ryan and Casey Allen Kingery, Mason City; two sisters, Prudy and her husband, Herman (Bud) Berding Sr., Mason City, and Kathy and her husband, Gerald Schwade, Nora Springs; five brothers, John and his wife, Donna Young, Mt. Ayer, Brian and his wife, Ruth Young, Plainview, Minn., Kim and his wife, Pam Young, Garner, Kevin Young, Sheffield, and Kyle Young, Stotts, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, and one brother, Bradley Guy Young.

RALPH E. HARRIS

NORTHWOOD - Ralph E. Harris, 83, of Northwood, died Thursday (April 1, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 5, 1999, at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, Highway 65 South, Northwood, with the Rev. Allan Stoa officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery , Northwood.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home.

Ralph E. Harris was born on Aug. 1, 1915, to Clarence Roy and Carrie Augusta (Kollman) Harris at Rudd.

Ralph married Cheryl Whitney on July 3, 1936, in Mason City. He farmed from 1936 to 1974 when he retired. He ran the Harris Dairy in Northwood from 1940 to 1942.

Ralph drove a school bus from 1976 to 1981, which he enjoyed. He also enjoyed the children. He was an avid sports fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry; daughter, Ann; grandson, Thomas Vermace; two sisters and one brother.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of Northwood; two sons, Lonnie and Bob, both of Northwood; one daughter, Paula Harris, of Northwood; one sister, Ruth Ann Hilborn, of Northwood; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

GREENE - Maryon Ladwig, 86, of 107 Willow Lane Dr., Waverly, formerly of Greene, died Saturday (April 3, 1999) at her residence in Waverly.

CLEAR LAKE - Melvin Luscomb, 75, died Saturday (April 3, 1999) at his home in Clear Lake.
