ROCKFORD - Betty Fullerton, 73, of 405 First Ave. N.W., Rockford, died early Tuesday morning (June 15, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center.

Arrangements are incomplete at Fullerton Funeral Home, Rockford.

WAYNE CALVIN

DUDGEON

BRITT - Wayne Calvin Dudgeon, 76, passed away Tuesday (June 15, 1999) at his home in Britt.

Funeral services for Mr. Dudgeon will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 1999, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt, with the Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery , with full military rites by the Britt V.F.W. and American Legion.

Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Friday at the Ewing Funeral Home in Britt, and one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. parish wake service and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m. Friday at the Ewing Funeral Chapel.

Wayne was born Aug. 22, 1922, on a farm northwest of Britt, to John "Ellis" and Hilma (Johnson) Dudgeon. He was a 1940 Britt High School graduate and attended Britt Junior College. Wayne entered the United States Army Air Force in December of 1940 and served in China and India with the "Flying Tigers."

Wayne married Gloria Myslewski in 1946 and farmed in the Britt area from 1948-1965. He worked for the Britt Farmers Co-op from 1965 until his retirement in 1984. For the next 13 years, he drove the Hancock County Transit Van.

Wayne was a rural school director and 4-H leader. He served on the ASCS committee for 13 years. He was commander of the Britt V.F.W. and president of the Hancock County Association for Retarded Citizens. Wayne was a member of the American Legion and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Wayne was also a member of the 14th Air Force Association.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, MaDonna Novak and her husband, Mike, of Muscatine; son, Tom Dudgeon, of Riverside, Calif.; daughters Catherine Sorenson and her husband, Brian, of Guttenberg, Teresa VanDine and her husband, Jon, of San Diego, Calif., Mary Jane Scott and her husband, Lawrence Jr., of Irvine, Calif., Sandy Dudgeon of Clear Lake, Joanne Dudgeon of Ames and Loretta Harvey and her husband, Todd, of Erie, Colo.; son, John Dudgeon and his wife, Jody, of Olathe, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, Floyd Dudgeon, of Bethel Island, Calif., Shirley Dudgeon and his wife, Dorothy, of Clear Lake and Dale Dudgeon of Ipswich, Mass.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

HELEN I. ROARK

MASON CITY - Helen I. Roark, 90, of 1000 N. Eisenhower Ave., died Wednesday (June 16, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Private family graveside services will be held on Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery , with the Rev. Ron Stein of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.

Helen was born June 15, 1909, in Red Cloud, Neb., the daughter of Henry and Clara (Simonson) Rathjen. After the death of her father, the family moved to Rudd, where she attended and graduated from Rudd High School in 1926. Helen married Guy Roark on Sept. 26, 1929, in Mason City. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and playing cards with her many friends. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, Mason City.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Marian Petersburg and husband, Floyd, Clear Lake; grandchildren, Fred Petersburg and wife, Paula, of Decorah, Brad Petersburg and his wife, Lauri, of Hanlontown, Kevin Petersburg and his wife, Tannis, of Ankeny, Sharon Petersburg of Carroll, and David Petersburg and his wife, Michelle, of Iowa Falls; nine great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Clara Rathjen; husband, Guy Roark, in 1986; two sisters, Cleo Sperry and Ruth Dunning; and one brother, Lynn Rathjen.

ZELMA MARTIN

GOODELL - Zelma Martin, 83, formerly of Goodell, died on Sunday (June 13, 1999) in Marietta, Ga.

Interment services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Amsterdam Cemetery in Goodell, with the Rev. John Murray of Calvary Baptist Church in Belmond officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond.

Zelma (Trager) Martin was born on Aug. 21, 1915, in Clarion, the daughter of Herman and Myrtle (Reed) Trager. She lived most of her life in Goodell. She married Roy Bachman, and they had one son, David Michael Bachman.

Zelma wed George Martin after her first husband passed away, and the couple moved to Latimer.

Zelma moved to Marietta, Ga. 15 years ago, where her son, David, resides.

She was a postal worker for the United States Postal Service.

She is survived by her son, David Bachman, of Marietta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Agnes (Mrs. Arthur) Trager; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Roy Bachman and George Martin; and two brothers, Arthur Trager and Edwin Trager.

RANDALL M. DISHMAN

CLEAR LAKE - Randall M. Dishman, 50, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday (June 15, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton, with the Rev. Michael Bahde officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Randall M. Dishman was born July 25, 1948, in Belmond, the son of Robert M. and Beverly (Muhlenbruch) Dishman. He graduated from Hampton High School, in Hampton.

Randall was united in marriage to Judy Stock on June 26, 1976, in Hampton.

He was self-employed. He was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, Hampton.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Dishman, of Clear Lake; one daughter, Julie Dishman, of White Bear Lake, Minn.; his mother, Beverly Dishman, of Hampton; one brother, Rodney Dishman, of Charles City; and two sisters, Ranae Berdahl and Ranele Kolthoff, both of Alden.

He was preceded in death by his father.

BETTY LUCILLE FULLERTON

ROCKFORD - Betty Lucille Fullerton, 73, of 405 1st Ave. N.W., Rockford, died early Tuesday morning (June 15, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 1999, at the First United Methodist Church in Rockford. Officiating will be Rev. Rosemary Rohde-Frank. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery , Rockford.

Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. today at the Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 301 West Main, Rockford.

Betty was born one of four children to Murel and Ivis (Yerkes) Brallier in Rockford, on July 6, 1925. She spent a great portion of her life in Rockford, graduating from the Rockford High School in 1942.

She then worked as a house mother in Ames at a Fraternity. Following her mother's death, she returned to Rockford to help her father and brothers. In 1944 she assembled airplane engines at the Alameda Air Station in Oakland, Calif., until the end of the war. She then returned to Rockford, where she worked for Jack Spratt grocery store and managed the Rockford Country Club for four years. Later she worked as an administrative assistant at Lynn Smith Insurance.

She was united in marriage to John N. "Jack" Fullerton on Aug. 5, 1955, in Arlington, Neb. Following her husband's death, she moved in November of 1972 to Colorado Springs, where she was an administrative assistant to the president of Allied Ready Mix, and then worked in the accounting department at Colorado Springs Medical Center. She moved to Loveland, Colo., where she was a technician in the computer division of Hewlett Packard, retiring in 1986 and moving back to Rockford in February 1987.

She was a baptized member of the First United Methodist Church in Rockford. She was the family historian and lovingly kept the history in organized scrapbooks. Her love of history carried her into spending innumerable hours with the Rockford Historical Society, working at the railroad depot and the historical building on Main Street filling many capacities when and where needed. She also collected and refinished antiques and was an avid reader of biographies and history.

She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She also was the author of several poems and short stories.

Those thankful in sharing Betty's life include her one son, Gregory L. and his wife, Debi Braun; five grandchildren, Amanda, Natalie, Megan, Olive, and Nicholas, all of Fort Collins, Colo.; two brothers, Wayne "Tony" and his wife, Gladys Brallier, of Nora Springs; Gary and his wife, Marlene Brallier, of Rockford; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Brallier, of Pasadena, Calif.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1967; her parents, and one brother, Dale Brallier.
