ANTHONY J. LINNENKAMP

DE SOTA - Anthony J. Linnenkamp, 7, of De Sota, died on Tuesday (June 15, 1999) at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, of a brain trauma.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 19, at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry, with Father Eugene Koch officiating. Music will be provided by Judy Ohrt, organist. Pallbearers will be Kris Greiner, Troy Zass, Mike Ferguson and Lawrence Stifel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn.

A scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Murdock Funeral Home, 1420 Warford, Perry, with Lyle Von Behren officiating.

A memorial has been established in his name and may be left at Murdock Funeral Home.

A.J., as he was called, was born on May 5, 1992, in Cedar Rapids, to Kurt and Janine Oftadahl Linnenkamp. Anthony's God parents were Todd Stecklein and Natalie Adams. He attended kindergarten at Adel Elementary School and was a member of the Adel Tigers Club.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Janine Linnenkamp, of De Sota; his father, Kurt Linnenkamp, of Windsor Heights; grandparents, Paul and Carole Linnenkamp, of Minburn, and Jim and Ruth Smith, of Mason City; his great-grandmother, Genevieve Attenhofen, of Harper; uncles, Joseph Linnenkamp of Perry; Peter Adams of Des Moines, and aunts, Natalie Adams of Des Moines, Kim and Cindy Linnenkamp of Perry and Kari Hempill of Woodward.

A.J. was preceded in death by a grandmother, Diane Smith, of Mason City.

M. ARLENE OLSON

ALBERT LEA, Minn. - Funeral services for Arlene Olson, 85, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea, with the Rev. James Haun officiating. Interment will be in State Line Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, Albert Lea, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Arlene died Wednesday (June 16, 1999) at her residence.

Arlene was born April 20, 1914, to S. Ross and Mabel A. (Gullickson) Buchanan, in Gordonsville. She attended elementary school in Gordonsville and graduated from Northwood High School. Arlene attended Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught in District No. 104 and rural Hartland schools.

On Aug. 30, 1940, Arlene was united in marriage to Carlyle A. Olson, in the Gordonsville Methodist Church. She became a partner with her husband at the Trading Post, a business they founded in 1950.

Arlene enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, photography, working on the family history and The Heritage Book. She was a life-long member of the Gordonsville Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, served on several church boards, and sang in the choir. She was active in the Methodist "Merry Makers," and in women's groups. She was also a member of the Camera Club in Manly.

Arlene is survived by her children, David Olson and his wife, Donna, of Gordonsville, Minn., Gregg Olson and his wife, Sandy, of Northwood, Rebecca (Becky) Schilling and her husband, Paul, of Worthington, Minn. and Nicholas (Nick) Olson and his wife, Angie, of Gordonsville, Minn.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Arcley Johnson, of Northwood; brothers, Wilbur and his wife, Nadine Buchanan, and Bruce and his wife, Dorothy Buchanan, all of Gordonsville, Minn.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Carlyle, in 1982.

Arlene loved her Lord, family and friends.

GLADYS JOHNSON

SWEA CITY - Gladys Johnson, 89, of Swea City, died Thursday (June 17, 1999) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Swea City. Burial will be at a later date in the Harrison Township Cemetery , Swea City.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the Church.

Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Bancroft, is in charge of arrangements.

ORVILLE K. MABEN

GARNER - Orville K. Maben, 89, of Garner, died Thursday (June 17, 1999) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church, Garner, with the Rev. Daniel Bloesch officiating. Interment will be in Concord Township Cemetery , Garner.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

FOREST CITY - Helen Kadolph, 88, formerly of Forest City, died Thursday (June 17, 1999) at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Madison Township Cemetery , Forest City, with the Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating.

Visitation will be held at the graveside prior to services.

EAGLE GROVE - Richard M. "Dick" Williams, 78, of Eagle Grove, died Wednesday (June 16, 1999) at the Veterans Administration Hospital, in Des Moines.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery , Webster City.

IOWA FALLS - Glen "Pug" Simpson, 62, of Iowa Falls, died Friday (June 18, 1999) at the Sunrise Care and Rehabilitation in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, at the Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls. Burial will be in the Northlawn Memory Garden, Iowa Falls.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Linn's Funeral Home, Iowa Falls, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
