IMOGENE M. HOBSCHEIDT

WHITTEMORE - Imogene M. Hobscheidt, 80, of 412 W. Kennedy St., Algona, died Friday (July 23, 1999) at Good Samaritan Center, Algona.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whittemore, with the Rev. Victor Ramaeker officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery , Wittemore.

Public visitation will be from 2:30 to 8 p.m. today at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Wittemore. A parish rosary will begin at 3 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at 7:30 a.m. Monday at the Parish Center.

Imogene M. Hobscheidt was born July 1, 1919, in Murray, Neb., daughter of Marion and Laura (Nichols) Worthan. She graduated from Plattsmouth, Neb., High School in 1936. She attended Clarkson School of Nursing in Omaha, Neb.

Imogene was united in marriage to George W. Hobscheidt Feb. 22, 1940, in Plattsmouth, Neb. After their marriage they lived in Glenwood, and in 1940 moved to their farm at LuVerne. In 1979 they moved to their home in Whittemore.

Imogene worked at the Directory Service in Algona from 1968 to 1978. She entered Good Samaritan Center, Algona, in 1996.

She loved to garden and sew and enjoyed fishing and camping. She loved to be near her family.

Imogene is survived by her two daughters, Anne Nelson and her husband, Michael, of Sioux City, and Marilynne Clink and her husband, Michael, of Algona; three sons, Dave Hobscheidt and his wife, Nancy, of Keota, Jerry Hobscheidt and his wife, LaRae, of Britt, and Dennis Hobscheidt of Algona; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Worthan and his wife, Naomi, of Puyallup, Wash., Bert Worthan of Murray, Neb., and Pud (Gomer) Worthan of Omaha, Neb.; and a sister, Ruby Lancaster and her husband, Raymond, of Murray, Neb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George W. Hobscheidt, Sept. 19, 1991; and her sister, Oval Snodgrass.

DONNA B. ROWLEY

NORA SPRINGS - Donna B. Rowley, 76, died Saturday (July 24, 1999) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services are tentatively planned for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Rockford. Cremation will follow the funeral services.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Rockford. (515) 423-8676

MARGARET A. HETTLER

MASON CITY - Margaret A. Hettler, 87, died Thursday (July 22, 1999) at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery , Mason City, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating.

Her body was cremated. There will be no visitation.

Margaret A. Hettler was born April 30, 1912, in Winona, Minn., daughter of Henry Leo and Emma Jane (Clausen) Hettler. She moved with her parents in her infancy to Lawler, then to New Hampton, where she attended grade school and graduated from New Hampton High School.

During the second year of Ms. Hettler's nursing career, she became ill and unable to graduate. Her illness persisted throughout the remainder of her life, which was spent in area health-care facilities.

Ms. Hettler is survived by three sisters, Hetty (Helen) Dick of Ocala, Fla., and twins, Rita H Joost of Jacksonville, Fla., and Renee D. Rucker of Gladys, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

RONELDA MAE MOTT

MASON CITY -Ronelda Mae Mott, 89, of 625 Sixth Place S.E., died Saturday (July 24, 1999) at Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home and Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.

MAXINE VIRGINIA ROBERTS

MASON CITY - Maxine Virginia Roberts, 88, of 929 N. Adams, died Saturday (July 24, 1999) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City. Burial will be in Old Memory Cemetery rural Clarinda.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

Maxine Virginia Roberts was born Oct. 22, 1910, in Dougherty, daughter of Charles Gilbert and Francis Fern (Updike) Ufford. She married Don Orville Roberts on Dec. 25, 1938, in Mason City.

Maxine attended Mason City schools and Mason City High School. She lived in Omaha 19 years where her husband managed a hotel. Later they purchased the Wayside Inn Best Western Hotel in Omaha which Maxine helped her husband operate.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Pauline Sedlock and Irene Nyhus, both of Mason City; several nephews; and one niece.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; and two brothers, Richard and Loren Ufford.

DONNA B. ROWLEY

NORA SPRINGS - Donna B. Rowley, 76, died Saturday morning (July 24, 1999) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 W. Main St., Rockford, with the Rev. Dick Clark of St. Timothy's United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral services.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hospice of North Iowa.

Donna was born on Jan. 25, 1923, at Adel, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Elliott) Lamb. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1941.

She was united in marriage to Howard Rowley on Aug. 39, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo. She worked for a time at A.C. Nielsen rating service and then turned her attention to caring for her family. This included working on a farm near Rockford and then a dairy operation with her husband in Louisiana. Later, they moved to several communities before returning to Rockford in 1974.

She enjoyed being at home, working with her flower and vegetable gardens, raising her pets and being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing at the Surf and playing card games such as "500," Canasta and Rummy.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Howard, Nora Springs; two daughters, Gayle and her husband, Roger Burnett, Rockford, and Lorraine and her husband, Thomas Patrick, New Hope, Minn.; one son, Frank and his wife, Marcia Rowley, Princetown; one sister, Violet "Jackie" Harr, Rockford; one brother, Gail and his wife, Mary Lamb, Mason City; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William in 1976; two sisters, Marietta Piatt and Pauline Clifford; and one brother, Louis Paul.

ALGONA - Anita L. Snere, 78, died Sunday (July 25, 1999) at her home.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Algona.

ROBERT JAMES FISHER

CLARION - Robert James Fisher, 21, died Friday (July 23, 1999) from injuries sustained in a car accident east of Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Paul Stone and the Rev. Susan Stone officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery , Eagle Grove.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Willim Funeral Home, Clarion.

TODD ALAN LARKIN

BELMOND - Todd Alan Larkin, 35, died Friday (July 23, 1999) as a result of a car accident south of Belmond.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Jim Carpenter officiating. Interment will be in Belmond Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tenold Funeral, Belmond, and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday.

Todd Alan Larkin, the son of Claude and Genevieve (Swenson) Larkin, was born Sept. 19, 1963, in Belmond. He graduated from the Belmond High School in 1983.

He began work at Eaton Corporation in Belmond at age 18 and remained there until January 1998, when he started working for Pella Window Corporation in Story City.

Todd had a passion to serve the community as a member of the Belmond Fire Department and Pheasants Forever. He loved sporting events, especially wrestling and football. He liked to hunt, play golf , racing and was a "Harley Man." He had a love of life, never knew a stranger and enjoyed making people laugh with his sense of humor. He "lived life on the edge." No one knew better than Todd how to grab that brass ring and live life to the fullest. He loved children and his two dogs, Alex and Princess.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Genevieve Larkin of Belmond; his father, Claude Larkin of San Diego; his grandmother, Sadie Swenson of Belmond; sisters, Cynthia Tjabring of Belmond and Diana Mennenga and her husband, Doug, of Belmond; his brother, Gary Larkin and his wife, Jackie, of Ocala, Fla.; special friend, Kim and stepchildren, Scott and Kiley; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, step-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sara, Chad, Jodi and many others.

Todd was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Swenson; grandparents, Claude and Olive Larkin; and an uncle, Bernard Miller.
