CLEAR LAKE - Tom Jay Boonstra, 43, of 710 Sixth Pl. N., Clear Lake, died Thursday (Aug. 12, 1999) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Major-Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, with the Rev. Frederick Wood of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home, and until time of services on Monday.
Tom Boonstra was born Jan. 4, 1956, in Mason City, to Sidney N. (Harry) and Ann (Green) Boonstra. He attended and graduated from Mason City High School in 1974. He then went to work with the family business.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and fishing. He also enjoyed listening to all varieties of music.
He will be missed by his wife, Lori McMenimen of Clear Lake; two sons, Neil Thomas Boonstra and Maxwell Tyler Boonstra, both of Clear Lake; his mother, Ann Boonstra of Mason City; a sister, Peggy Boonstra of Mason City; father-in-law, Russell McMenimen; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father.

EMORY R. ZINSER
CLEAR LAKE - Emory R. Zinser, 90, of 14 Sunset View Drive, died Saturday (Aug. 14, 1999) at SunBridge Care Center in Mason City, after a long battle with bone cancer.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Rev. David Wiersbe will be officiating.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at the Ludwig-Rohrschneider Mortuary in Morton, Ill. Burial will be in the Fondulac Cemetery , Washington, Ill.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Hospice of North Iowa.
Emory was born Oct. 8, 1908, in Washington, Ill., the eldest of four sons born to Charles Phillip and Stella (King) Zinser. He worked for TP&W Railroad for 44 years, retiring as an engineer in 1972.
On July 3, 1976, he was united in marriage with Fern Wilkinson Snow at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their motorhome. They also made trips abroad. Emory enjoyed playing shuffleboard at their home in Siesta Village in Weslaco, Texas. He also was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour westerns.
Emory and Fern moved to Mason City from Weslaco, Texas, in May of 1997. He was a former member of Moose Lodge 1328 in Mason City.
He is survived by his wife, Fern Zinser of Clear Lake; six children, Shirley Kemper of Washington, Ill., Ramona Mouser and her husband, Paul, of Melbourne, Fla., Joyce Eakman of Dunlap, Ill., Patricia Connaughton of Washington, Ill., Judith D'Augostino and her husband, Chris, of Chicago, Ill., and Richard Zinser; four step-sons, Bruce E. Snow Sr. and his wife, Muriel, of El Cajon, Calif., David E. Snow and his wife, Judy, of Fairbanks, Alaska, Larry Q. Snow of Clear Lake, and Harlan W. Snow and his wife, Gayle, of Clear Lake; two brothers, Rae Zinser of Kickapoo, Ill., and Lloyd Zinser of Holiday, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Bertha Wageman Zinser; a brother, Aden Zinser; three sons-in-law, Ralph Kemper, James Eakman and Thomas Connaughton; and one grandson.

STACYVILLE - Jerome John Hackenmiller, 74, died Saturday (Aug. 14, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Visitation Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Visitation Church Hall, with a rosary at 3 p.m., and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.
CARL M. MORRIS
THORNTON - Carl M. Morris, 81, of Carmel, Calif., died Wednesday (Aug. 11, 1999) at the Community Hospital in Monterey, Calif.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Thornton. Burial will be held in the Pleasant View Cemetery , Thornton.
Friends may call at the Grarup Funeral Home, Thornton, from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
Carl Morris was born on Feb. 18, 1918, in Burchinal, Iowa, the son of Carl G. and Naomi (Comer) Morris. He attended the Thornton school system, graduating with the class of 1936. He worked a variety of jobs before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Carl served his country on the islands of Guadalcanal and Bougainvillea. He was awarded several medals and honors for his courageous service. Upon his return from the war, he met Mary Frances Clemons and they were married in Riverside, Calif. Carl was stationed in locales all over the globe, serving as a Navy Meteorologist for 30 years. After his retirement from the Navy, he joined the California Park System as a Ranger at Point Lobos, Calif., for 13 years, leading park visitors on nature walks and tours of the park.
He was a member of the Knight Templar, 32nd degree, a life member of the Naval Weather Service, the Retired Officers Association, and the Carmel Foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances, of Carmel, Calif.; three daughters, Shirley Enca of Monterey, Calif., Nancy Geran of San Jose, Calif., and Neva Turnock of Clayton, Calif.; his sister, Loretta Hurst of Oakland, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, along with a multitude of friends that will miss him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
