MARY A. (ROY) BABBITT
NORA SPRINGS - Mary A. (Roy) Babbitt, 69, of Rudd, died Monday (Aug. 16, 1999) at the Floyd County Hospital, Charles City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Rudd United Methodist Church, Rudd, with the Rev. Deborah Stowers and the Rev. Greg Lugn of the Nora Springs Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery , Rudd.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye, Nora Springs, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
Mary A. (Roy) Babbitt was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Charles City, the daughter of Arthur and Inez (Millard) Roy.
She married Milton Babbitt on Sept. 21, 1979, in Nora Springs.
Mary was in rodeos and drove a truck prior to her marriage. She was a janitor at the school in Rudd and drove the school bus. She loved fishing, baking, crafts, horses and also enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed being around kids and dressing up as Mrs. Santa and as "Flannigan" the clown.
She was a member of the Rudd United Methodist Church and also enjoyed attending the Nora Springs Christian Church.
Mary is survived by her son, Terry Reams and his wife, Jackie, Osage; grandchildren, Terry Reams and his wife, Chris, Osage, Melissa Mayer and her husband, Brad, St. Ansgar, Jason Reams and his wife, Jill, Osage, Joseph Reams, Osage and Tanya Coburn Kirshbaum and her husband, John, Clear Lake; five great-grandchildren, Megan and Casey Reams, Lindy and Jared Mayer, and Tyler Reams; two sisters, Susan Burns, Rudd, and Gloria Schmidt, Charles City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents; one daughter, Mary "Marydoll" Coburn; one son, Jim; one sister, Sylvia Roy; and two infant grandchildren.

PAMELA KAY ELBERT
ALGONA - Pamela Kay Elbert, 32, of Algona, died Tuesday (Aug. 17, 1999) at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Algona. Burial will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery , Whittemore.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Friday at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Algona, with a parish rosary at noon.

MASON CITY - Ethel M. Huber, 71, of Mason City, died Wednesday (Aug. 18, 1999) at the Good Shepherd Health Center.

Donald Leroy 'Evil' Trebil
MASON CITY - Donald Leroy "Evil" Trebil, 58, of 698 15th St. S.E., died Wednesday (Aug. 18, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Ave., with the Rev. Joel Dahlen officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Donald Leroy "Evil" Trebil Memorial Fund.
Don was born on Jan. 16, 1941 to Donald Lyle and Marie A. (Seater) Trebil, in Northwood. He attended Mason City Public Schools. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At a very early age, Evil started working on the Audrey Faught farms. He worked for many construction firms, the latest being Charlson Excavating, of Clear Lake, retiring in 1993 due to health problems. Don also owned Don's Tap and Grill in Joice from 1971-1979.
On Feb. 14, 1960, he married Eva Olson and three children were born to this marriage.
Don attended our Saviour's Lutheran Church and was a member of the North Iowa Road Riders and the Gold Wings Road Riders Association. He was a great motorcycle enthusiast, thus the name of "Evil" was acquired. Don also loved little children as was shown every December by his playing the part of Santa in the Clear Lake and Mason City area.
He is survived by his mother, Marie Tebil, of Mason City; stepmother, Gerri Trebil, of Mason City; son, Kim Trebil and his wife, Julie, of Clear Lake; daughter, Penny Oberg and her husband, Mark, of Mason City; brothers, Curt Trebil and his wife, Christina, of Mason City, Bruce Trebil and his wife, Donna, of Clear Lake, Robert Trebil and his wife, Kristina, of Olympia, Wash.; sisters, Jean Myers, of Garner, Sharon Leppert and her husband, Jim, of Mason City, Linda Reiter, of Mason City, with whom he resided; Louella Bice and her husband, William, of Eastaboga, Ala., and Deb Anderson and her husband, Brian, of Plymouth. Also surviving is a special niece, Jodi Mann and her husband, Larry, of Mason City and a nephew, Brad Reiter and his wife, Amy, of Ventura. He will be greatly missed by all including three grandsons, one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, an infant son, one granddaughter and grandparents.

BELMOND - Glen B. Pals, 80, of Belmond, died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at the Belmond Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Evangelical Free Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Pat Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Alexander Cemetery , near Alexander.

Eunice Charlson
LELAND - Eunice Charlson, 95, of Leland, died Thursday (Aug. 19, 1999) at the Good Samaritan Center, Forest City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark, Forest City, with the Rev. Dan Christensen, of Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Leland, officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery , Leland.
Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, Forest City.
Eunice I. Charlson was born on a farm east of Leland, on Sept. 12, 1903, the daughter of Olavus and Matilde (Thompson) Paulson. Eunice attended rural school and graduated from Forest City High School. She received her teaching certificate from Ellsworth College.
Eunice taught at the Brones School in rural Leland for many years. After she quit teaching, she worked in the Leland Post Office for several years and later did housekeeping for area families.
Eunice moved to Mason City in 1955, where she worked at the Good Shepherd Center until retiring in 1965. Since that time she had made her home in Forest City.
She was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church, in Leland and sang with the Winnebago Womens Chorus many years ago.
She entered the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City in 1992.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clifford Charlson; and three sisters, Clara Nyhus, Mabel Groves and Minerva Carlson.

WHITTEMORE - Annabelle Elbert, 84, of Whittemore, died Wednesday (Aug. 11, 1999) at the Good Samaritan Center, Algona.
