MASON CITY - Lois Aldrich, 96, of 324 Second St. N.E., died Friday (Aug. 27, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, with a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.

DOROTHY UKENA DEWEY
LAKOTA - Graveside memorial and inurnment services for Ralph and Dorothy Ukena Dewey, of Burlington, formerly of Lakota, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, in Maple Hill Cemetery , Lakota.
Mrs. Dewey died April 21, 1998, in Burlington and Mr. Dewey died Feb. 9, 1999, in Burlington.
Lunning Chapel, Burlington, is in charge of arrangements.

MASON CITY - Dr. Harry G. Marinos, 85, of 2501 W. State St., died Saturday (Aug. 28, 1999) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Greek Orthodox Church of Transfiguration. Burial will be in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Greek Orthodox Church. A Trisagion Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Major-Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., is in charge of arrangements.

MARGARET L. QUINBY
CHARLES CITY - Margaret L. Quinby, (Mrs. Kenneth) 81, of the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City, died Friday (Aug. 27, 1999) at the nursing home of natural causes.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Highway 18 and Clark Street. Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek, Pastor, will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery , Floyd.
Friends may call to greet the family from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. The Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Quinby, the former Margaret Lola O'Rourke, was born April 28, 1918, in rural Nora Springs, the daughter of Ben and Harriet (Trainer) O'Rourke. She was baptized at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Rockford. Margaret graduated from the former Rudd Community High School in Rudd. On May 11, 1940, in Charles City, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Clair Quinby. The couple made their home on a farm north of Floyd until moving into Charles City in the late 1970s. They often enjoyed fishing trips together. Mr. Quincy died on March 11, 1985, in Charles City. Mrs. Quinby was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the St. Rose Circle of the church.
Those thankful for sharing Margaret's life are her many nieces and nephews, Donald Meloy of Bernard, Therese Meloy, Mary Catherine Meloy, her godchild Joe Meloy, and Dennis Meloy, all of Dubuque, LeRoy Stonecypher of Floyd, and Clair Stonecypher of Texas, Steven Shankland and Terry Quinby of Charles City, Donnie Quinby of Rockford, Jeff Quinby of Joice, Diane Ramker of Greene, and Gary Quinby of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Belma Stonecypher of Charles City; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are her dear friends who have cared for her and Kenneth for many years, Carroll and Joyce Bishop of Osage.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Meloy.

Lois was born Jan. 2, 1903, in Peoria, the daughter of George W. and Rebecca (Sawyer) Tomlinson. She grew up in the Peoria and Maxwell, areas, attending country school in Peoria. She married Joseph A. Aldrich on March 3, 1921, in Des Moines. They farmed in the Maxwell area for many years, where Lois was active in the Peoria Methodist Church. The couple moved to Mason City in 1968. Lois was an active member of the Senior Citizens Center in Mason City, enjoyed playing cards, bingo, cooking and baking, especially pies. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and church circle.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Betty I. Lysne, of Mason City; two granddaughters, Linda Jo Rezab and husband, Gordon, of Mason City, and Rebecca Lois Lysne and special friend, Jeff Schmidt, both of Clear Lake.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph; son-in-law, Velman "Bud" Lysne; sister, Annie May Kolbus; grandson, Andrew Lysne; and niece, Lela May Barr.

TITONKA - Shirley M. Amesbury, 65, died Saturday (Aug. 28, 1999) at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Timm Wilkin officiating. Burial will be in the Buffalo Township Cemetery.

GREENE - Viola Fern (Poppe) Tack, 81, died Saturday (Aug. 28, 1999) at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Home, Charles City.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Camp Comfort in Greene. She donated her body to the University of Iowa for the advancement of medicine. The Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City is in charge of arrangements.
