MASON CITY - Emma Schmidt, 102, of Mason City, died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) at the Heritage Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

MARIAH ROSE BRUNSVOLD

POLK CITY - Mariah Rose Brunsvold, infant daughter of Steve and JoAnn Brunsvold, of 3915 NW 98th Ave., Polk City, died Sept. 8, 1999 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at the First Lutheran Church, Northwood. Burial will be in Somber Cemetery , Lake Mills.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Garden, Des Moines.

Mariah is survived by her parents, Steve Earl and JoAnn Louise Brunsvold, of Polk City; one brother, Hunter Brunsvold, of Polk City; one sister, Abbey Brunsvold, of Polk City; grandmother, Margaret Brunsvold, of Northwood; grandparents Doug and Marlene Hewitt, of Iowa City; and great-grandparents, Barb and Cleve Hewitt, of Ozark, Mo.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Earl Brunsvold.

DENNIS TASSELL

LONE ROCK - Dennis Tassell, 60, of Lone Rock, died Monday (Sept. 20, 1999) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Sentral of Fenton High School, Fenton. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery , Oskaloosa.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Fenton.

DAVID F.H. MEYER SR.

MASON CITY - David F.H. Meyer Sr., 83, of Mason City, died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the West Prairie Lutheran Church, in Leland, with the Rev. Dan Christensen officiating. Burial will be in the West Prairie Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., Forest City.

David F.H. Meyer Sr. was born in Garner, on Nov. 27, 1915, the son of Henry and Mary (Bonar) Meyer. He attended school in Leland. On Jan. 18, 1940, he was married to Anna Elston.

The couple made their home on the family farm, working with other members of David's family. The couple retired from farming in 1981 and moved into Leland. They later moved to Mason City in 1995.

David loved raising and breeding horses. He was an avid collector and enjoyed fishing. Spending time with his family was very important to him.

David is survived by his wife, Anna Meyer, of Mason City; four children, David Meyer Jr., of Waco, Texas, Ella McNeely, of Mason City, Phyllis Hohenfield, of Clinton and Donna Herndon, of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin; two sisters, Dorothy and Mary; a daughter, Shirley Ann meyer; and two granddaughters, Shirley Murphy and Jeanine Meyer.

ALVINA BURRIS

BURT - Alvina (Haase) Burris, 79, of Burt, died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) at Titonka Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Burt. Burial will be in the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery , Rolfe.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Algona.

RUTH E. WEISS

CLARION - Ruth E. Weiss, 84, of Clarion, died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) at the Community Memorial Hospital, Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Clarion, with the Rev. Charles Kellogg officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery , Clarion.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Willim Funeral Home, in Clarion.

ROGER D. DRALLE

ALLISON - Roger D. Dralle, 60 of Allison, died Tuesday (Sept. 21, 1999) at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Allison Bible Church, with Pastor Dave Stockeland and Pastor John Currier officiating. Burial will be in the Allison Cemetery , Allison.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral home, Allison.

LORI ANN KRULL

OSAGE - Lori Ann Krull, 39, of Osage died Wednesday (Sept. 22, 1999) at home following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Mitchell, with the Rev. Rose Marie Nack officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

There will be no visitation. Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, is in charge of arrangements.

Lori was born Sept. 6, 1960, in Osage, the daughter of Lowell and Karen (Kindschuh) Maakestad. Lori was educated at schools in Osage and Clarksville, and graduated from Syracuse High School in Syracuse, Neb. She attended Horticulture School at Hawkeye Tech. Community College in Waterloo.

Lori married John H. Krull on Oct. 30, 1981, at Allison. They moved to the Osage area in 1990. Lori was employed at Fox River Mills. She enjoyed tending flowers and plants in her yard and home, along with collecting antiques.

Survivors include her husband, John H. Krull, of Osage; two daughters, Cody Lenz and her husband Nick of Fort Hood, Texas and Cheyenne Rose Krull, at home; one son, Lucas Krull, at home; mother, Karen Maakestad, of Clarksville; and paternal grandmother, Josie Maakestad, of Stacyville.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Maakestad in 1988; grandfather, Leonard Maakestad; grandparents, Margaret and Louie Kindschuh.

REX L. REYNOLDS

MASON CITY - Rex L. Reynolds, 57, died Sept. 2, 1999, at his home in Ypsilanti, Mich., after a long illness.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Ave., Mason City. Rex's niece, Jennifer Grant, a senior student at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Grove Cemetery , Nora Springs.

Memorials may be given to the Rex Reynolds Memorial Fund in care of Howard Reynolds, 321 23rd St. S.W., Mason City.

Rex attended Mason City schools. After high school he worked at various restaurants as a cook until he moved to Michigan.

He was united in marriage on April 25, 1985, to Connie Gilliam in Ann Arbor, Mich. They lived in Ypsilanti and Rex worked first as a cook at the Red Lobster and then drove cab for many years until his illness forced him to quit working.

Rex enjoyed watching sporting events, especially the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He loved children, especially his nieces and nephews when they were young and Ronald and Ryan, and he will be greatly missed by all of them.

He is survived by his wife Connie of Ypsilanti, Mich.; his sons, Ryan and Ronald, at home; his brother Howard (Skip) and his wife Shirley; his sisters, Marilyn and her husband Carroll (Nort) Norcross, Ardith and her husband Roger Christian, Nancy Haag and Kathy and her husband Robert Grant, all of Mason City; his mother-in-law Geraldine Gilliam of Ypsilanti; and his many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.A. and Lola Reynolds; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
