MASON CITY - Maude B. Mullin, 84, of 302 Second St. N.E., died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at the Good Shepherd Health Center.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery , with the Rev. Randy Nielsen officiating. There will be no visitation as per family request.

ELLA W. WETTERLING
GARNER - Ella W. Wetterling, 92, of Garner died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at the Westview Care Center in Britt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner, with the Rev. Clyde Kieschnick and the Rev. Robert Bronson officiating. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. Fourth St., Garner, and will continue one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

ANN GOPLERUD KENNEDY
Washington, D.C. - Ann Goplerud Kennedy, 81, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Osage, died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at Palmerton, Pa..
Graveside committal services will be held in Osage at a later date.

RUTH S. (BIRCHARD) DALLUGE
GRAFTON - Ruth S. Dalluge, 86, died Monday (Oct. 11, 1999) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson officiating. Burial will be in Grafton Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home in Osage and will continue one hour prior to services at the church today.
Ruth was born Jan. 25, 1913, at home in Grafton, the 11th of 16 children born to John and Emma (Glauwitz) Bork. Ruth was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. She graduated from Grafton high School in 1932.
On June 27, 1937, she was married to Birchard Dalluge at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. They made their home in Grafton and shared 57 years together until Birchard passed away in 1995. To this marriage was born a son Larry and a daughter Mary.
Ruth enjoyed baking sweets and sharing them with her family and friends. She also spent her time knitting and reading and was an avid Hawkeye fan. She was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, participating in her circle, quilting days, teaching Sunday School and together she and Birch were active members of the Stewardship and Evangelism Committee for many years.
Ruth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Carol Dalluge, of Grafton; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Robert Trettin, of Waterloo; sisters, Irene Hartwig and Elsie Kline of Grafton, Linda Bartz of St. Ansgar, and Genny Furness of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Those to greet her in Heaven are her beloved husband, Birch; a grandchild, Timothy Trettin; a great-grandchild, Christian Dalluge; her parents, John and Emma Bork; six brothers and five sisters.

MASON CITY - Garnet L. Pickard, 78, of 630 Briarstone Dr., died Wednesday (Oct. 13, 1999) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.

ROBERT ORIN TENOLD
NORTHWOOD - Robert Orin Tenold, 57, of Northwood, died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at the Lutheran Retirement Home, in Northwood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the First Lutheran Church, 309 N. Ninth St. Northwood, with the Rev. Paul Holmer officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery , Northwood, with military graveside honors by "Our Buddies VFW Memorial Post No. 6779, of Northwood.
Visitation was held Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church, 309 N. Ninth St., Northwood and will be held one hour prior to services today at the church.
According to his wishes the casket will be closed.
Conner Colonial Chapel, 99-11th St. S., Northwood, is in charge of arrangements.
Robert Orin Tenold was born on Aug. 23, 1942, in Mason City, the son of Reuben and Opal (Butler) Tenold. He was baptized at his parents home and reaffirmed the faith of his baptism through confirmation at the Bristol Lutheran Church, rural Joice. He attended and received his education at the Brookfield #5 rural school system and graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School in 1960. After completing his schooling he served in the Army National Guard for six years.
He was united in marriage to Cheryl D. Nelson on Dec. 5, 1964 at Silver Lake Lutheran Church, rural Northwood. She preceded him in death on Dec. 12, 1995. During his life, he worked as a carpenter for Don Martin in the Northwood area before farming in the Brookfield Township and Silver Lake area for his father and father-in-law, and also had his own tree stump removal business with his father-in-law, Jimmie Nelson, and until the time of illness he worked as a carpenter for Universal Contractors in Northwood.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, raising horses, hunting, dancing, going to car races, and football, but his great love and enjoyment was his family and grandchildren.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Northwood, and
Minnesota Paint Horse Club and Horsemen of Iowa Club.
Left to cherish his memory is a son, Dan Tenold and his wife, Suzie, of Northwood; a daughter, Brenda Moretz and her husband, Scott, of Northwood; three grandchildren, Kelsey and Tiarra Tenold and Colton Moretz; his mother, Opal Tenold, of Northwood; two brothers, David Tenold and his wife, Marge, of Northwood, and Lynn Tenold and his wife, Mindy, of Northwood; five nieces and nephews, Allix and Briar Tenold, Mike Thompson and Todd and Mike Brunsvold; and his mother-in-law, Maxine Nelson, of Northwood; a sister-in-law, Sandy Thompson and her husband, Gary, of Albert Lea, Minn.; and special friends, Gary and Nancy Hengesteg, of Northwood; as well as aunts, uncles and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reuben Tenold who died on April 27, 1990; his wife, Cheryl Tenold who died on Dec. 12, 1995; his brother, Dennis Tenold who died on Nov. 4, 1969 and his father-in-law, Jimmie Nelson, who died in February of 1975.

ELLA W. WETTERLING
GARNER - Ella W. Wetterling, 92, of Garner, died Tuesday (Oct. 12, 1999) at Westview Care Center in Britt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Garner, with the Rev. Clyde Kieschnick and the Rev. Robert Bronson as officiants. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery.

Ella Wilhelmina Wetterling, the daughter of Carl and Anna (Boehnke) Hollatz, was born September 5, 1907, at Garner. She attended school at St. John's Parochial School and the Garner Community Schools.
On May 1, 1936, she was married to Earl Christian Wetterling at her parent's farm home north of Garner. They farmed in the Garner area until 1972, when they retired and moved into town. Due to ill health, Ella moved to Westview Care Center on October 25, 1994. She enjoyed her family, friends, cooking and gardening. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and LWML.
She is survived by her daughter, Janan Griggs of Garner; a son, Gene Wetterling of Montana; four grandchildren, Jolene Griggs, of Garner, Jennifer Kruse and her husband, Jeff, of Pella, Jim Wetterling, of Garner and Ron Wetterling of Parker, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hollatz, of Garner and a brother-in law, George Doble, of Garner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wetterling, August 2, 1979; a son-in-law, Jay Griggs, May 4, 1995; her parents; an infant sister, Erma Hollatz; a brother, Conrad Hollatz, December 4, 1991; and her sister, Elvira Doble, July 26, 1996.

CHARLES CITY - Bradley W. Sawyer, 20, of 407 Second Ave., died Wednesday (Oct. 13, 1999) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Charles City, with the Revs. Dennis Niezwaag and Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery , Charles City.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with the family greeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.

with graveside military honors conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral Home, where the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday morning from 9 a.m. until service time.
