ADELINE V. ULVE

LAKE MILLS - Adeline V. Ulve, 80, left this world to be with her Lord on Thursday (Oct. 14, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, with the Rev. Roger Dykstra and the Rev. Sara Beth Akre officiating. Burial will be at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at Salem Lutheran Church Monday.

Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Adeline Viola Ulve, daughter of Grant and Juliette (Bendickson) Thompson, was born May 29, 1919, in Clarksfield, Minn. She graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1936.

On Aug. 13, 1938, Adeline married Vernon Ulve in Mason City. Adeline was a lineworker at Fleetguard and later worked at the Lake Mills Care Center as a nurse's aide. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.

Adeline will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother. Her sense of humor and quick wit will be missed. Adeline's greatest joys were spending time with her family and her Lord. Adeline was an avid reader, but the book she loved reading the most was her Bible. Adeline will be greatly missed by her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Vernon of Lake Mills; her children, Darrell and Reta Ulve of Kennsett, David and Marilyn Ulve of Northwood, Kathy and Gary Briggs of Mason City, Dale and Linda Ulve of Kasson, Minn., Dean Ulve and Betty Thompson of Lake Mills, and Carol and Carl Schaefer of Anoka, Minn.; and two sisters, Dorothy Benson of Lake Mills and Lois VanRavenhorst of Clarks Grove, Minn.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Adeline was preceded in death by her parents, three grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of North Iowa in Adeline's memory.

JUDITH E. 'JUJU' MALFERO

NORA SPRINGS - Judith E. "Juju" Malfero, 57, of Nora Springs, died Thursday (Oct. 14, 1999) at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home & Crematory, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and will continue on Monday until time of services at the funeral home.

MARK 'BUBBA' ALLEN HORNING

GLENVILLE, Minn. - Funeral services for Mark A. "Bubba" Horning will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Round Prairie Lutheran Church, Glenville, with the Rev. Kent Otterman officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, 1415 Highway 13 N., Glenville, and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.

Mark died Wednesday (Oct. 13, 1999) at his home in Northwood, Iowa.

Mark was born Nov. 21, 1961, the son of Donald and Mavis (Wikoren) Horning, in Albert Lea, Minn., where he grew up. He later moved to Northwood and attended high school there.

On April 18, 1989, Mark was united in marriage to Judy Chisholm in Mason City, and through this union three children were born. They lived in rural Northwood and farmed.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Greg, Heather and Daniel, all at home; parents, Donald and Mavis Horning; brother, Richard, of South Dakota; sisters, Deb and her husband, Natale Ponticello, of Omaha, Neb., Pat Horning, of Colorado, and Diane Horning, of Albert Lea; mother-in-law, Mary Chisholm, of Manly; brothers-in-law, Tim and his wife, Nancy Chisholm, of North Branch, Minn., Johnny and his wife, Lisa Chisholm, of Forest City, Jeff and his wife, Lorrie Chisholm, of Nevada, and Jimmy and his wife, Paula Chisholm, of Ellsworth, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Cindy and her husband, Tom Dahl, of South Sioux City, Neb., Janie and her husband, Frazier Glenn, of Walkersville, Md., and Sandy and her husband, Randy Linderman, of Mason City; grandparents, Clarence Horning, of Albert Lea, and Dorothy Rademaker, of Manly; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mark will be sadly missed by his wife and three children, his parents and all who knew him.

MILDRED M. WOLD

ST. ANSGAR - Mildred M. Wold, 91, died Sunday (Oct. 17, 1999) at Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School St., St. Ansgar.

DALLAS GALE LAUDNER

SANTEE, Calif. - Dallas Gale Laudner, 75, died Friday (Oct. 15, 1999) in California.

ORLAN V. CASEBOLT

MASON CITY - Orlan V. Casebolt, 81, formerly of Clear Lake, died Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) at Good Shepherd Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery , Mason City.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Chapel.

Orlan was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Russell, Iowa, the son of Edward Raymond and Lucretia (Willoughby) Casebolt. He attended rural school in Lucas County, Iowa.

In 1937 he moved to the Dougherty area to work on farms. Orlan married Irene Eibey on April 19, 1942, in Rockwell. He started farming north of Clear Lake in 1945 and lived on the farm until 1996. He believed in farm stewardship taking care of the land.

Orlan enjoyed camping and spending the winters in Rio Grand Valley Donna, Texas. He was a member of Wig Wam N' Wagon Camping Club since 1979.

Orlan is survived by his wife, Irene Casebolt, Mason City; three children, Kathy Schroeder and her husband, Ed, Garner, Dale Casebolt, Clear Lake, and Tim Casebolt and his wife, Janeen, Ankeny; seven grandchildren, Brent, Bryan, Tammy and Scott Schroeder, Bradly, Shaun and Krislynn Casebolt; three great-grandchildren, Melanie, Braxton and Bryson; two sisters, Bernice Bettis, Albia, and Dorothy Droter and her husband, George, Edgewater, Florida; and two brothers, Howard Casebolt and his wife, Delores, Gladbrook, and Bernard Casebolt and his wife, Patty, Melrose.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters, Kenneth, Bruce, Bill, Marvel, Neil, Truman, Carl, Elsie and Vivian.

MYRTLE RUTH BOSS

MANCHESTER - Myrtle Ruth Boss, 91, died Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, following an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 11, 1908, in Belmond to Steve and Lydia (Wolter) Dorenkamp. She received her education in the area and attended beauty school in Des Moines.

Myrtle was united in marriage to John Boss on Jan.16, 1934, in Belmond. Two children were born to this union. They farmed near Manchester and Myrtle worked as a beautician over the years. They retired from farming in 1964 and in 1973 moved into Manchester. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her son, Norman and his wife, Dee, Manchester; her daughter, Shirley Retz and her husband, Dick, Manchester; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Schabacker and her husband, Norman, Winthrop.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband on May 3, 1980; a great-grandson, Lyle John Retz; a brother, Leonard Dorenkamp; sisters, Mildred Steenblock and two in infancy; and her parents.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at First Lutheran Church, 313 E. Fayette St., Manchester, with the Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Interment will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery rural Ryan.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, 1500 N. Franklin, Manchester, and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

FRANCES C. SERHAGL

BUFFALO CENTER - Frances C. Serhagl, 87, died Friday (Oct. 15, 1999) at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Partick's Catholic Church, Buffalo Center, with the Rev. Craig Steimel officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery , Buffalo Center.

The visitation will be on hour before Mass at the church Tuesday.

MASON CITY - Edwin F. Schultz, 85, of 1612 S. Coolidge, died Sunday (Oct. 17, 1999) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

TED FUCHSEN

ALGONA - Ted Fuchsen, 94, died Saturday (Oct. 16, 1999) at Good Samaritan Center in Algona.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecelia Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Brodersen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Algona.

Visitation will be from 2:30 to 8 p.m. today at Garry Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Algona. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home Monday.
