Blanche M. Reynolds
LANCASTER, Wis. - Blanche M. Reynolds, 90, of Lancaster, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the Lancaster Care Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Clement Catholic Church, Lancaster, with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery , Potosi. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. The Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on June 23, 1913, in Union, Grant County, daughter of Albert and Vina (Steinborn) Keene.
She married Edward J. Reynolds on Sept. 23, 1931. Together they farmed in the Mount Ida area. In 1958, they moved to Lancaster.
Blanche was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the Ladies Aide. She gardened and made quilts. She also baby-sat for many Lancaster children.
Surviving are a son, Roger (Bonnie) Reynolds, of Lancaster; her daughter-in-law, Jean Reynolds (fiance, John Cottrell), of East Dubuque, Ill.; her son-in-law, James (Jeri) Pennekamp, of Dyersville, Iowa; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leona Sudmeyer, of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, on Nov. 4, 2002; a son, Kenneth Reynolds; a daughter, Joanne Pennekamp; her parents; and brothers and sisters, Nellie Snider, Arther Keene, Geneive Irish, Albert Keene, George Keene, Elva Keene, Donald Keene and Lloyd "Bill" Keene.
Thomas N. Esser
Thomas N. Esser, 56, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Dubuque, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Martin Page Funeral Home, Potosi, Wis., where friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday. Arrangements are pending.
Albert H. Klein
SAVANNA, Ill. - Albert Henry "Al" Klein, 74, of Savanna, formerly of Bellevue, Iowa, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Freeport (Ill.) Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Savanna. Burial will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.

BELMONT, Wis. - Janet M. Moody, 76, of Belmont, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics, Madison.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Belmont United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, where arrangements are pending.

EDGEWOOD, Iowa - Theresa F. Prior, 47, of Edgewood, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Edgewood (Iowa) Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. The Leonard Funeral Home, Edgewood, is in charge of arrangements.

EDGEWOOD, Iowa - Paul A. Geisler, 62, of Edgewood, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at home, following a battle with lung cancer.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Manchester. Burial will be in the Littleton (Iowa) Cemetery.

FENNIMORE, Wis. - Virgean G. Rossow, 77, of Fennimore, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at the Fennimore Community Good Samaritan Center.
There will be no services or visitation. Private family burial will be at a later date.

Hugo H. Bodensteiner
CLERMONT, Iowa - Hugo H. Bodensteiner, 90, of Clermont, died Sunday morning, Dec. 29, 2002, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, following a brief illness
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clermont, with the Rev. Paul Ouderkirk officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Schutte's Clermont Funeral Chapel, where there will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6 p.m., and a parish scripture service at 7 p.m.
He was born on Feb. 3, 1912, in St. Lucas, son of Joseph and Margaret (Drilling) Bodensteiner. He married Ruth Sherwood on April 3, 1937, in San Diego; she died on June 1, 1996.
Surviving are 11 children, H. Kenneth (Sharon) Bodensteiner, of Anchorage, Alaska, Anita Gogerty, of Norwalk, Robert (Sue) Bodensteiner, of Seattle, Jeanne (Mike) Noonan, of Peosta, Donald Bodensteiner, of Iowa City, Edward (Francesca) Bodensteiner, of Saltily, Mexico, David (Carol) Bodensteiner, of West Des Moines, Rosemary Bodensteiner, of Clermont, Marilyn (Steve) Grabber, of Kansas City, Mo., Allen (Glenda) Bodensteiner, of Postville, and Anthony Bodensteiner, of Coralville; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four brothers, M. J. Bodensteiner, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., Leo (Nadine) Bodensteiner, of Iowa Falls, the Rev. Peter Bodensteiner, of Lawler, and Cletus Bodensteiner, of Long Beach, Calif.; and four sisters, Agnes Winter, of Earlville, Evelyn Hawkins, of Ossian, Lucille Fanning, of Timonium, Md., and Olivia Ward Everett, of Fayette.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Chris Bodensteiner and Leonard Bodensteiner.
Helen M. Talley
EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. - Mrs. Helen M. Talley, 92, of Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna, formerly of East Dubuque, died at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Mercy Hospital North, Clinton, Iowa.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
She was born on April 22, 1910, in East Dubuque, daughter of Wallace and Nellie (McCarthy) McGee. She married Howard Talley on June 12, 1929, at Grandview Avenue United Methodist Church, Dubuque; he died in February 1955.
She was a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting andembroidery and had a deep love for dogs. She was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, East Dubuque.
Surviving are a daughter, Elaine (John) Gill, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a son, Wayne (Marion) Talley, of Villa Park; and five grandchildren, Alice, Mary, Elizabeth, Gene and Mark.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Norma N. Brien
Mrs. Arthur V. (Norma N. Shoars) Brien, 64, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, after a long illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Rock Church, Rockford, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Honquest Family Funeral Home, Loves Park, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
Alfred L. Rich
MAQUOKETA, Iowa - Alfred Larry Rich, 86, of Maquoketa, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 28, 2002, at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery , rural Maquoketa.
Edwin F. Roling
Edwin F. Roling, 74, of 2300 Central Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery . Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 4 p.m.
Mr. Roling worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. for 20 years and for the city of Dubuque Transportation Department until his retirement.
He was born on May 18, 1928, in New Vienna, Iowa, son of Henry and Laura (Schlichte) Roling. He married Carol Phillips in 1981 in Dubuque.
He graduated from New Vienna High School. He served in the Navy in 1945 and 1946.
He was member of Holy Ghost Parish and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9663 of Dubuque. He enjoyed his family, camping and playing cards.
Surviving are his wife, Carol; a son, Rick Roling, of Dubuque; three daughters, Debbie Roling, of Dubuque, and Jennifer and Jessica Roling, both at home; two grandchildren, Lori Roling, of Dubuque, and Lisa Roling, of Madison, Wis.; a brother, Alfred Roling, of Dubuque; a sister-in-law, Nellie Benke, of Cascade, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alphonse; and five sisters, Alvena Johnson, Leona Herting, Marcella Oberbroeckling, Helen Benke and Dorothy Jasper.
