Margery A. Ney
Margery A. Ney, 76, of East Moline, Ill., formerly of 465 Nevada St., Dubuque, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Illini Hospital, Silvis, Ill., following a sudden illness.
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, where friends may call after 3 p.m. today.
Mrs. Ney worked as a supervisor at Sears in Dubuque for 21 years, until her retirement in 1986.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1926, in Monona, Iowa, daughter of Carl and Emma (Hines) Lubbers. She married John J. Ney on Feb. 28, 1946, in Dubuque; he died on June 11, 2000.
She was a member of the YMCA in Dubuque and East Moline, and she participated in water exercises. She also was a former member of the Fulton School PTA in Dubuque, where she served as president.
Surviving are a daughter, Dianne Ney, of East Moline; a son, Neil (Marie) Ney, of Evanston, Ill.; three grandchildren, Dennis Reiter, Dawn Reiter-Cooper and John Reiter; and great-grandchildren, Alec, Colin, Amelia and Caleb Reiter and Kaitlyn and Kyle Cooper.
She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Dennis; two brothers, Lloyd and Larry Lubbers; and a sister, Gert Hittenmiller.
Memorials may be given to the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in Margery's memory.
Olive M. Dye
Olive M. Dye, 88, of Ennoble Manor Care Center, formerly of 385 Bradley St., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
Memorial prayer services will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery . The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dye was a medical records librarian at both The Finley Hospital and Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque. She was a medical secretary for the Dubuque Medical Society.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1914, in Dubuque. She graduated from the former St. Joseph's Academy. She married Steven G. Dye on Aug. 31, 1937, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque.
Surviving are her husband, Steven G. Dye, of Dubuque; and two daughters, Gretchen M. Lee, of Dubuque, and Marlynn E. Lemkau, of Kentucky.
Memorials may be given to the New Melleray Abbey Monastery.
Shirley Rohr
MAQUOKETA, Iowa - Shirley Rohr, 61, of Maquoketa, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in South Mineral Cemetery , rural Onslow.
Lawrence J. Gallagher
APPLE RIVER, Ill. - Lawrence James "Chuck" Gallagher, 39, of Apple River, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at home.
According to Chuck's wishes, no services will be held. The Redlin Funeral Home, Baraboo, Wis., is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gallagher worked at Dura Automotive for 10 years.
He was born on Dec. 8, 1963, in Freeport. He married Grace E. Gibbons on May 21, 1993, at the courthouse in Galena.
He was an avid rabbit and squirrel hunter and enjoyed wheeling and dealing and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Gallagher, of Apple River; three children, Robby L. Gibbons and Sarah L. and Gary L. Gallagher, all at home; his grandparents, Leo and Doris Gallagher, of Apple River; his mother and stepfather, Marjorie and William Sr. Kenney, of Juda, Wis.; two sisters, Jodi Gallagher, of Monroe, Wis., and Marcie Malott, of Juda; three brothers, Ronald (Joy) Gallagher and William Kenney Jr., both of Juda, and Travis (Kelly) Euler, of Apple River; his father and mother-in-law, John and Adeline Gibbons, of Cuba City, Wis.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence L. Gallagher; an uncle, Leo Lee Gallagher; his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Hazel Boelk; and an uncle, Ronald Boelk.

CUBA CITY, Wis. - Anna Therese Prete, infant daughter of Tom and Kathy (Sahr) Prete, of Cuba City, was stillborn Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster.
A Mass of Praise will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cuba City. Arrangements are pending at Casey Funeral Home, Cuba City.

WAUKON, Iowa - Frances M. Gallagher, 78, of the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Veteran's Memorial Hospital, Waukon, after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery , both in Waukon.

Burial will be in Franville Cemetery.

LANCASTER, Wis. - Audrey M. Elwell, 90, of Clinton, formerly of Lancaster, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Alden Meadow Park, Clinton.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hillside Cemetery , Lancaster. The Martin Page Funeral Home, Lancaster, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on May 13, 1912, daughter of Clarence and Verna (Leighty) Cummins. She married Bernard Elwell; he died in 1983.
Surviving are two nieces, Sharon Carter, of Machesney Park, Ill., and Charlene (Ed) Belken, of Rockton, Ill.; a great-niece, Mary (Dale) Hendrix, of Roscoe, Ill.; and a sister, Ivanelle Cox, of Rockford, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
Delores A. Buettner
LANCASTER, Wis. - Delores A. Buettner, 72, of Lancaster, died peacefully in the arms of her family Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Clement's Catholic Church, Lancaster, with Monsignor Tom Baxter officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster, where there will be a parish scripture service at 3:15 p.m.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1930, in Boscobel, daughter of Orville and Vera (Steines) King. She married Philip J. Buettner on May 17, 1952.
Delores became an avid golfer after her children grew up and also pursued painting, crafts and water aerobics. She enjoyed reading, making trips up north, traveling to visit her children and being with her many friends.
She possessed warmth, grace, feisty independence, humility, a wry sense of humor and always true grit and determination.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Philip, of Lancaster; five children, Pamela (Tom) Ellefson, of Middleton, Mary (David) Rich, of Washington, D.C., Frank (Gina Christianson) Buettner, of Seattle, Susan (Shane) Claunch, of Plant City, Fla., and John Buettner, of Madison; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ricky; and four sisters, Judy, Arletta, Virginia and Jackie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert and Rodney.

John Francis Bradley, 74, of 110 Pontiac Road, Marquette Heights, Ill., formerly of Dubuque, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at the Pekin (Ill.) Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church, Creve Coeur. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Pekin.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
