SHULLSBURG, Wis. - Howard A. Fromm, 92, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Shullsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Riverbluff Nursing Home, Rockford.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery , both in Shullsburg.
Friends may call after noon Saturday at the church. The O'Flahrity-Erickson Funeral Home, Shullsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Mook Sr.
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Raymond Mook Sr., 77, of Decatur, Ill., formerly of Platteville, died at 6:55 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, of an apparent heart attack while traveling on Interstate 57 near Charleston, Mo.
Memorial services were held Wednesday at Beeman-Pathak Funeral Home, Boscobel. Burial was in the Boscobel (Wis.) Cemetery.

ELKADER, Iowa - Allen B. Meyer, 51, of Elkader, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 20, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of cancer.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elkader, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Leonard Funeral Home, Elkader, where there will be a scripture service at 4 p.m.

MAQUOKETA, Iowa - Larry Lee Hamann, 64, of Maquoketa, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, at Jackson (Iowa) County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in Buckhorn Cemetery , rural Maquoketa.

Gary L. Phillips
GALENA, Ill. - Gary L. Phillips, 50, of Freeport, formerly of Galena, died of an apparent heart attack Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in Freeport.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Cemetery , Galena, with the Rev. Fredrick Baltz officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Galena. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena.
He spent his early life in Galena and was a graduate of the Galena High School. He served in the Navy from June 29, 1971, until his honorable discharge on June 10, 1977.
Surviving are his wife, Martha; a son, Serafin (Benilda) Phillips, of San Diego; his parents, DeLoss and Doris Phillips, of Galena; three brothers, Marc (Toni), David (Kathy) and Stephen (Missy) Phillips, all of Galena; a sister, Cynthia (Mike) Muehleip, of Galena; two stepchildren, Marissa and Joebert Pedroza; and seven grandchildren.
Kenneth E. Reuter
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Kenneth E. Reuter, 80, of Platteville, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Platteville, where military rites will be accorded by the Platteville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5274 and American Legion Post 42. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Mr. Reuter worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. until his retirement in 1981. He also farmed during that time in Cornelia, Harrison Township.
He was born on May 7, 1922, in Harrison Township, Grant County, son of George and Rose (Seipker) Reuter. He married Darlene Kalish on April 12, 1948, in Platteville.
He served in the Army from Feb. 17, 1945 to Dec. 12, 1946. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and VFW Post 5274.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene Reuter, of Platteville; two sons, Leonard (Kathryn) Reuter and Mike Reuter, both of Platteville; two grandchildren, Julie Reuter and Jeremy Reuter; a great-granddaughter, Katie Reuter; two brothers, Ralph Reuter, of Belmont, and LeRoy (Blanche) Reuter, of Onalaska; and a sister, Berniece (Joe) Kramer, of Dyersville, Iowa.
Inelda M. Hessel
Inelda M. Hessel, 79, of 17349 Peru Road, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Hessel worked at the Savanna (Ill.) Ordinance during World War II, and then at the Battery Factory. She also worked at Hartig Drug Stores for 20 years, retiring in 1983.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Dubuque, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Hafebecker) Armbruster. She married Ralph Hessel on Oct. 14, 1943; he passed away on July 18,1977.
She was raised in Dubuque and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1941.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending all her time with her family. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing bingo, euchre and cards with her neighborhood card club.
Surviving are her children, Randy (Karen) Hessel, of Muscatine, Iowa, Mary Jo (Terry) Licht, of Dubuque; grandchildren, Kim (Brian) Pantier, Chad (Amy) Hessel, Eli, Courtney and Justin Licht; a great-grandson, Alex Hessel; and a sister, Jayne (Ray) Boleyn, of Dubuque.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dale; and two sisters, Marge Czipar and Joann Breiner.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the two special ladies who provided their mother with loving care and support.
Donita S. Thole
ZWINGLE, Iowa - Donita Sharon Thole, 60, of Zwingle, left this earth at 10:26 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, La Motte, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 7 p.m.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1942, in Dubuque, daughter of Milton F. and Donita (McElmeel) Boyes. She married Bernard "Bernie" Thole on Dec. 15, 1968, in Dubuque.
She graduated from the former Finley School of Nursing in 1963, and worked at Luther Manor as a nurse for 20 years, until she retired due to illness.
Surviving are her husband, Bernard "Bernie;" her children, Steve (Karen) Thole, of Lake Station, Ind., and Allen, Danny, Eric and Carrie Thole and Diane (Vince) Averkamp, all of Zwingle; her grandchildren, Robert Casey, Jacob Wade, Lily Grace and Leo Thomas Thole; two brothers, Milton (Judy) Boyes Jr., of Dubuque, and Richard McElmeel, of Chicago; and two sisters, Dawn and Sandy, both of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas James Thole.

BELLEVUE, Iowa - Wanetta Miller, 76, of Bellevue, died Monday morning, Nov. 18, 2002, at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at St. John's Cemetery , Bellevue.

Mary E. Shetler
Mary E. Shetler, 90, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 579 Quigley Lane, died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at Stonehill.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery , Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Shetler worked at the General Dry Battery Factory and later at Loras College.
She was born on July 7, 1912, in Dubuque, daughter of Patrick and Anna (Rowe) McCollins.
She married Carl "Butch" Walker on Aug. 7, 1936, in Dubuque; he died on March 29, 1954. She later married Lester W. Shetler on April 25, 1959, at St. Patrick's Church, Dubuque; he died on Nov. 25, 1988.
She was a 1930 graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and its Rosary Society.
Surviving are a stepson, James W. (Patricia) Shetler, of Bettendorf, Iowa; a stepdaughter, Ruth (Robert) Willis, of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a step daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Mary) Ertmer, in 1990; and two step grandchildren.
