Reoa A. Van Natta

Reoa Anita Van Natta, 90, of 3106 Lemon St., died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Private services and burial of the cremated remains will be held at a later date. The Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on June 25, 1913, in Potosi, Wis., daughter of Henry and Ada (Fitzsimmons) Wentz.

Surviving are a daughter, Elaine Van Natta, at home; two sons, Robert (Lorraine) Van Natta, of Potosi, and Lawrence "Larry" (Linda) Van Natta, of Dubuque; a brother, Leonard (Helen) Wentz, of Minocqua, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers, a Reoa Van Natta Memorial Fund has been established by her family.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at The Finley Hospital, doctors Rebekah Bartsch and Hillard Salas, the Sharon Koster family and the many caring neighbors on Lemon Street for their kind care and concern of Reoa and Elaine.

Cecelia M. Vosberg

Mrs. Cecelia M. Vosberg, 88, of the Alverno Apartments on Windsor Avenue, passed away Sunday morning, Aug. 17, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque, after a sudden illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where there will be a rosary at 5 p.m.

She was born on April 4, 1915, in rural Peosta, Iowa, daughter of John and Martha (McNamara) Grace. She married Bernard Vosberg on May 2, 1942, at Holy Family Catholic Church, New Melleray Abby, rural Peosta; he preceded her in death in December 1995.

Cecelia was a devout Catholic and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Ladies of the Altar and Rosary Society.

She enjoyed an active lifestyle that included bingo, euchre, pool and any adventure that would allow her to go, go, go.

Cel was a well-known bartender in the Dubuque area for many years. She had a wide range of friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are three daughters, Joanna Wolfe, of Dallas, Marilyn (Michael) Cousins, of Dubuque, and Rose Allen, of Bellevue, Iowa; a son, James (Chris) Vosberg, of Dubuque; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. John Grace, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

She also was preceded in death by her eldest son, Clement Vosberg; a sister, Mary Berthel; and two brothers, John and Gerald Grace.

A Cecelia M. Vosberg Memorial Fund has been established.

Cecelia's family would like to express its deep appreciation to the terrific staff and the many wonderful residents of Alverno who supported and assisted Cel.

Dorothy I. Dimitroff

Mrs. Roy C. (Dorothy I.) Dimitroff, 80, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 521 Garfield Ave., died at 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at the care center.

There will be no public services or visitation. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery . The Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on Nov. 19, 1922, in Bankston, Iowa, daughter of John and Christina (Duehr) Ritt. She married Roy C. Dimitroff on Nov. 27, 1949, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dubuque.

She was a very devoted wife and homemaker. She and her husband, Roy, enjoyed traveling and just being together.

Surviving are her husband, Roy C. Dimitroff; a sister, Ethel L. Traut, of Dyersville, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.

Joseph B. Symons

BENTON, Wis. - Joseph B. Symons, 81, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Benton, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Benton, with the Rev. Cy Weisensel officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the church cemetery. The Casey Funeral Home, Benton, is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1922, in Benton, son of Leslie James and Catherine Ann (Swift) Symons. He was raised in Benton and was a graduate of the Benton High School.

He was in the Army Glider Division during World War II. After service, he worked in retail and photography for General Motors and WP&L, retiring from there in 1979.

Joseph was a member of the Moose Club, the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was on the Board of the Forest Park Property Owners.

Surviving are a niece, Ann (Dick) Teal, of Horicon; six great-nieces and great-nephews, Rich (Val) Teal, Dave (Sandra) Teal, Mike (Pam) Teal, Dan (Janet) Teal, Theresa (Steve) Schiffman and Deb (Jon) Albee; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Vivian Gedney.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vi; a brother, Marvin; and three sisters, Sister Mary Ann Symons, Irene Symons and Velma Gehrke.

Christopher J. Larmon

Christopher J. Larmon, 62, of 675 Kane St., died of heart failure at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery . Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 6 p.m.

Mr. Larmon taught at Wahlert High School, Dubuque, and Joseph P. Kennedy School for exceptional children. He was one of the original founders of Special Olympics, with Eunice Shriver and the Kennedy family. His most recent employment was with State Farm Insurance.

He was born on March 1, 1941, in Chicago, son of Christopher and Elizabeth (Hanley) Larmon. He married Sally Neyens on Jan. 25, 1964, at Nativity Catholic Church, Dubuque.

He graduated from Mendel High School, Chicago, and in 1964 from Loras College, Dubuque, with a bachelor of science degree in physical education and political science.

He was a member of St. Raphael's Cathedral and the Chicago Bears Fan Club.

Surviving are his wife, Sally; a son, Nicholas (Tracey) Larmon, of Midlothian, Ill.; a daughter, Beth Ann Larmon Bartos, of Elwood, Ill.; four grandchildren, Allen Patterson, Nicole Bartos, Megen Bartos and Jake Larmon; a brother, Michael (Carole) Larmon, of Naperville, Ill.; and a sister, Mary (Ed) Ryan, of Palos Heights, Ill.

Leo F. Neuses

Leo F. Neuses, 78, of 1691 McPoland St., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Nativity Catholic Church. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where arrangements are pending.

Caleb Mark Younie

Caleb Mark Younie, infant son of Mark and Lynn (Westmark) Younie, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, formerly of Dubuque, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

There will be a private family ceremony to honor Caleb. He will be laid to rest in the Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery . The Morgan Funeral & Cremation Service, Mount Vernon, is in charge of arrangements.

Although our dreams for Caleb are gone, Caleb will always exist in a place in our hearts, a place that is Caleb's alone.

Roxann M. Logan Frasher

MANCHESTER, Iowa - Roxann M. Logan Frasher, 42, of Manchester, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at home, after an extended illness.

Arrangements are pending at the Leonard-Muller Funeral Home and Crematory, Manchester.

Violet M. Kelly

Violet M. Kelly, 75, of 1879 Bennett St., died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Arrangements are pending.

G. Blanche Hill

FENNIMORE, Wis. - G. Blanche, Hill, 80, of Fennimore, died Monday morning, Aug. 18, 2003, at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fennimore. Burial will be in Hermitage Cemetery , Mount Hope.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Larson Family Funeral Home, Fennimore.

Everett M. Kirkeby

WAUKON, Iowa - Everett M. Kirkeby, 73, of 404 Second St. NW, Waukon, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Veteran's Memorial Hospital, Waukon, after a brave battle with cancer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery , both in Waukon.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hanson Funeral Home, Waukon.

Rose M. Holub

MONTICELLO, Iowa - Rose M. Holub, 97, of Monticello, formerly of the Prairieburg community, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at Shady Rest Care Center, Cascade.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with the Rev. Donald Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery , Prairieburg. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello, where there will be a parish scripture service at 7:30 p.m.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1906, in the family home in Linn County, daughter of Wesley and Mary (Pisarik) Lawrence.

She married Raymond Holub; he preceded her in death in 1941. She later married Harry Holub in 1947; he preceded her in death in 1997. She and her husband farmed in the Prairieburg community until their retirement in 1966, when they moved to Monticello.

Surviving are two sons, Jerry (Barb) Holub, of Cascade, and Arnie Holub, of Monticello; six grandchildren, Diane (Gene) Kula, Sheryl (Scott) Snyder, Alan (Sherryl) Holub, Daniel Holub (his friend, Steve Hubbard) Lance (Colleen) Holub and Angie (Paul) Kronlage; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Delbert; two brothers, Emil and Ed Lawrence; and a sister, Ann Petrick.

Joseph F. Pahr

LANCASTER, Wis. - Joseph F. Pahr, 75, of Lancaster, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare, La Crosse.

Arrangements are pending at Schwartz Funeral Home, Lancaster.

Felix R. Stimart

LANCASTER, Wis. - Felix R. "Speed" Stimart, 89, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Lancaster, and Bagley, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, in Sebring.

Arrangements are pending at Martin Page Funeral Home, Lancaster.
