November 17, 1925 - February 12, 2006

-Interment: Aspen Grove Cemetery , Burlington, Iowa

C. Marcene Stogdill, 80, of Burlington died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2006, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.

Born November 17, 1925 in Moulton, she was the daughter of Frank L. and Eunice Grace Courtney Brown. On May 19, 1945 she married Dale L. Stogdill in Bloomfield. He died August 29, 1987.

She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. Early in her career she taught at country schools in Davis County. For 14 years she worked at IRC-TRW and was section leader from 1963 until May of 1977. She also worked at Catarpillar in Joliet, Illinois, was personnel instructor at Hope Haven from 1987 until 1988 and as a greeter at Wal-mart since April of 1989.

Mrs. Stogdill was a member of First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed visiting with people.

Survivors include her son, Michael L. Stogdill of Wever; two grandsons, Bryan and Randall; four step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Ware and Ina Grace “Billie” Foster both of Ottumwa; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, parents; one sister; and one daughter-in-law preceded her in death.

A memorial has been established for First Assembly of God Church.

Donald Stokes
October 2, 1940 - October 25, 2005

-Visitation: Thursday, October 27, 2005 at his home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Per his wishes, Mr. Stokes has been cremated.

Donald “Mickey” Mac Stokes, 65, of Burlington died of cancer at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at his residence.

Born October 2, 1940 in Little York, Illinois he was the son of Walter Douglas and Beulah Ethyl Scull Stokes.

Mr. Stokes was a siding installation subcontractor for over 25 years. He was a former member of the Eagles Club in Monmouth and liked to fish, play horseshoes and loved the Mississippi River. His friends were very special to him.

Survivors include three daughters, Pam (Bruce) Turner of Burlington, Debi Witt of Steamboat Rock, and Carol Stokes of Burlington; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jake Stokes and Lawrence Stokes of Illinois; and one sister, Helen Hayes also of Illinois.

One son, one daughter, his parents, five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Great River Hospice.

Daisy Elanore Stoller
August 10, 1911 - November 29, 2006

-Friends May Call: Thursday, November 30th, from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM in Lunning Chapel
-Family Visitation: Friday, December 1st from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in Lunning Chapel
-Funeral Service: Friday, December 1st, 11:00 AM in Lunning Chapel
Reverend Tyrone Henderson will officiate
According to her wishes, the body of Mrs. Stoller will be cremated following her funeral service
Inurnment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Daisy Elanore Stoller, 95, of Burlington, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Great River Medical Center Klein Unit.

Born August 10, 1911, in Oakville, Iowa, she was the daughter of David and Emerance Herr Strawhacker. On January 7, 1928 she married Joseph Stoller in Monmouth, Illinois. He died October 17, 1972.

Mrs. Stoller worked for IAAP and Burlington Instrument Company in Burlington and later with her husband at Carthage Lake Club for 12 years retiring in 1966.

She was an avid bowler, she loved playing cards, reading, gambling on the boat and BINGO. She was known for her famous fried chicken, and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Dorothy Whitmore of Carman, Illinois; three grandchildren, Linda Setser and her husband John of Oquawka, Marsha Walker and her friend George Schoenewe of Burlington, and Michael Whitmore and his wife Diane of Carman, Illinois; seven great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister Cleo Rung, half-sisters Eva Dresdon and Edna Siverly, and brothers Marshall, Mark, Paul and Roy.

Marjorie Willeford Stout
April 6, 1919 - November 26, 2006

-Family Visitation: Tuesday, November 28th, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Lunning Chapel
-Funeral Service: Wednesday, November 29th, 10:30 AM in First Assembly of God Church.
Pastors Paul Backhaus and Don Crawford officiating.
-Interment: Aspen Grove Cemetery , Burlington, Iowa
Memorials have been established for First Assembly of God Church and Great River Hospice of Great River Medical Center.

Mrs. Marjorie Willeford Stout, 87, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 11:40 PM Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington.

Born April 6, 1919 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Arthur James and Effie Ava Wheeler Sovern.

On June 4, 1937 she married Merle “ Bozo “ Willeford in Burlington. He died June 30, 1982. On March 12, 1989 in Burlington she married Vern Trowbridge. He died December 3, 1992. On November 4, 1995 she married George Stout in Burlington.

Mrs. Stout attended Perkins, Horace Mann and graduated from Burlington High School Class of 1937.

She worked for Midwest Bisquit for 6 years and TRW / IRC for 20 years retiring in 1982.

Mrs. Stout was the oldest and a Charter member of First Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School and was a children’s church leader for 15 years. She loved to sew, spending time with youth and raising foster children.

Survivors include her husband George, son Charles Willeford of Burlington; daughter-in-law Shirley Willeford of Burlington; grandchildren: Curt ( Kelly ) Willeford of Burlington; Steven ( Shannon ) Willeford of Daytona Beach, Fl; Kim DeLap of Burlington; and Chad ( Sarah ) Willeford of Clarinda, Iowa. Great grandchildren: Nathan and Nicole Willeford; Jennifer, Jessica, and David Willeford; Gavin DeLap; Conner Willeford; Gwen Willeford; and great great granddaughter Rowan Willeford. Foster children: David Babcook of Topeka, KS and Delora Robertson of Winter Haven, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 1 son; David Willeford, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Charlotte Sullivan
March 25, 1946 - August 2, 2006

Charlotte Sullivan, 60, of Burlington died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at her residence.

Born March 25, 1946 in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Dr. Charles Fredrick and Margaret Charlotte Helt Obermann. On December 13, 1969, she married Don Sullivan in Monroe, Louisiana.

Mrs. Sullivan was a 1968 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. She taught home economics in Oklahoma High Schools and was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association. She also was an actuary assistant for a life insurance company and worked along side her husband in their private business. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, her cats and reading.

Survivors include her husband, Don Sullivan of Burlington; one son, Joshua Lee Sullivan of Burlington; and four cousins, Janice Henn Cooper of New Jersey, Robert Henn of Georgia, Margaret Helt Fredmand of Dallas, Texas and Maurice Helt of Wever.

Her parents preceded her in death.

A memorial has been established for Mrs. Sullivan’s family.

Lucy Elizabeth Sullivan
October 7, 1905 - October 1, 2006

Lucy Elizabeth Derry Sullivan, 100, of Bickford Cottage in Burlington, Iowa died at 2:15 AM on Sunday, October 1, 2006 Bickford Cottage in Burlington.

Born October 7, 1905 in Adair, Illinois, she was the daughter of James and Lyda Stewart Derry. On August 14, 1924 she married Carl Rexroat Sullivan in Peoria, Illinois. He died July 7, 1974.

Mrs. Sullivan was a graduate of Adair (Illinois) High School. She worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant during World War II. She also worked at Witte Drug Store, Schramm’s, managed The Toy Store and Newsland. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of the White Shrine and Eastern Star. She was also a member of PEO Chapter NH, Norman Circle of Kings Daughters and several bridge clubs. She loved to travel and play bridge. She also enjoyed her pets and flowers,. She also volunteered at the Welcome Center and the log cabin in Crapo Park. She was an artist and painted mostly still lifes.

Survivors include her daughter Julane (Jim) Hugg of Burlington; grandchildren, Connie (Bill) Sawyer of Newark, California, Steven (Julie) Hugg of Marion, Iowa and Martin (Teresa) Salino-Hugg of Burlington; and five great grandchildren, Jaclyn Hugg of Wichita, Kansas, Jena Hugg and Jarrett Hugg both of Marion,and Anna Salino-Hugg and Michael Salino-Hugg both of Burlington.

Her husband, parents, two brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Wesley Allen Tamborello
November 15, 1933 - April 16, 2007

-Family Visitation: Wednesday, April 18th, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM in Lunning Chapel
-Funeral Service: Wednesday, April 18th, at 7:00 PM in Lunning Chapel
Reverend Father William Wiegand will officiate.
According to his wishes the body of Mr. Tamborello will be cremated following the service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.

Wesley Allen Tamborello, 73 of Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, Iowa and formerly of Burlington, Iowa and Houston, Texas, died Monday, April 16, 2007, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

Born November 15, 1933 in Houston, Texas, he was the son of Joseph A. and Ann McClain Tamborello. On September 15, 1960, he married Elizabeth A. Eller in Houston.

Mr. Tamborello was a graduate of a high school in Houston. He was a Veteran of both the Army and Navy, serving a total of twelve years including the Korean War time period.

He worked as a welder and in construction and also played guitar in his band called Country Raiders.

He was of the Catholic faith, was a member of V.F.W. Post 10102, and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed his music, talking on the C.B. radio, fishing and his family.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Tamborello of Burlington; two sons, Ronald Allen Tamborello of Houston and Joseph Tamborello of Burlington; six daughters, Debra of Houston, Carolyn Ridgel of Carson City, Nevada, Cheryl Wells of Mount Pleasant, and Caren Sue Strange, Cathy Lynn Thornton and Christa Marie Tamborello all of Burlington; three step daughters, Valerie Doborro of Roselle, New Jersey, Annette Heim of Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Deanna Price of Windber, Pennsylvania; 20 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, JoAnn Olson of Houston.

His parents preceded him in death.

Steven Russell Teel
August 13, 1958 - April 22, 2007

A memorial has been established for his granddaughter, Breanna Teel's, education

Steven Russell Teel, 48, of Fort Madison, Iowa, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born August 13, 1958 in Port Hueneme, California, he was the son of Bobby E. and Alice Anne Bretz Teel. On October 4, 1980, he married Laurie Beth Polson. They later divorced.

Mr. Teel was a 1977 graduate of Burlington High School. He worked at J.C. Penney’s, was a welder at J.I. Case and a guard at Iowa State Penitentiary since 1982.

He was a member of Burlington Model Airplane Club and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and visiting with friends.

Survivors include his son, Christopher Teel of rural Burlington, granddaughter, Breanna Teel; mother, Alice Teel of Burlington; brothers, Dennis Teel of Wapello, Iowa and Dana Teel of San Diego, California; one sister, Debra Garcia of Burlington; several nieces and nephews; and good friends Dawn Hecox and Dan Ertz.
His father; grandparents, Russell and Marie Bretz of Wapello and Jack and Irene Teel of Macomb, Illinois, preceded him in death.
