Anna Louise Peters

DAVENPORT - Anna Louise Peters, 90, of Davenport, died at 11:57 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at the Kahl Home in Davenport.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1911, in Stuttgart, Ark., the daughter of George P. and Erna A. Hoevels Schmid. She married William L. Peters in 1931, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Keokuk. He survives.
Additional survivors include: a son, Larry Peters and his wife, Jackie, of Davenport; a daughter, Rozann Lewis of Rock Island, Ill.; two grandsons, Loren and Lee Peters of Davenport; a granddaughter, Kelly Clark and her husband, Doug, of Geneseo, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Louise Peters of Keokuk; two nieces, Carm Fett and her husband, Dale, of Donnellson and Mary Beth Larsen of Dayton, Ohio.; and her extended family, William and Virginia Moler and family of Peoria, Morton and Decatur, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a graduate of St. Peters High School in Keokuk.
She had been a resident of Keokuk from 1914 to 1973. She had been a resident of Davenport since 1973.
Mrs. Peters was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Davenport.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Greaves Mortuary, Keokuk, with the Rev. Paul Connolly officiating.
Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery , Keokuk.
Visitation is after noon Friday at the mortuary.
Memorials may be made to All Saints Catholic Church, Keokuk, or St. Anthony Catholic Church, Davenport.
Charles Oscar 'Chuck' Laisle
Sept. 6, 1937 - May 24, 2002
RIDGWAY, Colo. - Charles Oscar "Chuck" Laisle, 64, of Ridgway, Colo., died at 5:05 p.m. May 24, 2002, in the Doak Walker Care Center in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1937, in Keokuk, the son of Oscar H. Laisle and Clara M. Fellows.
Survivors include: three children, two daughters and a son; grandchildren; a sister; a brother; nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; two nieces; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
He had a business in plumbing and heating until his retirement.
Mr. Laisle loved the mountains.
He enjoyed a past time of inventions and had a gift of art in drawing and painting.
Mr. Laisle had taught a class of blue printing in Grand Junction College.
Mr. Laisle was loved by many. He was very kind and intelligent.
Memorial services were held Saturday in Ridgway Reservoir Lake.
Burial was in the Grand Junction Cemetery , Grand Junction, Colo.
Lorene Fish
Nov. 18, 1908 - Oct. 21, 2002
KAHOKA, Mo. - Lorene Fish, 93, of Kahoka, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1908, in St. Francisville, Mo., the daughter of Peter and Zena Yates Egley. She married Joe Fish on March 7, 1930, in Canton, Mo. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1998.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Jo Meyers and her husband, William, of Treasure Island, Fla.; a son, John Fish of Treasure Island; six grandchildren, Michael Meyers, Susan Meyers, Daniel Meyers, David Fish, Bill Meyers and Stephen Fish; 13 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Eden, Faith, Avalon, Amber, Danny, Ariel, Mary Grace, Ryan, Amelia, Andrew, Liane and Tracy; and a host of friends.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Egley.
She taught school at the Sand Hill School near Wayland, Mo.
She and her husband were in business together for 50 years.
Mrs. Fish was an original caregiver and was always helping someone in need. She also volunteered at the nursing home and loved to cook for other people.
Mrs. Fish was a member of the Kahoka Christian Church.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, with the Rev. Shawn McAfee officiating.
Burial will be in the Kahoka City Cemetery.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. Wednesday with family meeting friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Sever Library in Kahoka or the Kahoka Cemetery.
Rev. Corwin Sanders
March 13, 1926 - Dec. 20, 2002
KAHOKA, Mo. - Rev. Corwin Sanders, 76, of rural Kahoka, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at his home.
He was born on March 13, 1926, in Keokuk, the son of Everitte and Lola Hopp Sanders. He married Deloris Rube on June 1, 1948, at the First Baptist Church in Keokuk. She survives.
Additional survivors include: two sons, Corwin Dale Sanders and his wife, Cindy, of Keokuk and Steven Paul Sanders and his wife, Shirley, of St. Charles, Mo.; five grandchildren, Chadwick Dale Sanders and his wife, Jannifer, Robert Matthew Sanders and his wife, Shannon, Emma Suzanne Sanders, Stephanie Jane Parker and her husband, Brian, Kimberly Jane Sanders; and a great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Dianne Sanders.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He attended Keokuk schools and graduated from Keokuk High School. He attended Northern Baptist Seminary and later graduated from Miami Christian University.
Mr. Sanders was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.
He was the founding pastor of the Bethel Bible Church in Donnellson and also a Bible Church in Harlingen, Texas.
Mr. Sanders was well-known in the area having served as interim pastor in many church in southeast Iowa and Missouri. He last served as pastor in Revere, Mo. in 2001.
He enjoyed carpentry, working in his garden and going fishing.
Funeral services were today at the Evangelical Free Church in Keokuk, with Pastor Craig Burton officiating.
Burial with military rites was in Oakland Cemetery , Keokuk.
Visitation was Sunday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Free Church or the New Tribes Mission.
Loyd Thomas Beagles
Oct. 5, 1924 - Feb. 24, 2003
HAMILTON, Ill. - Loyd Thomas Beagles, 78, a resident of Hamilton, Ill., for the past 51 years, died at 7:38 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at his home in Hamilton.
He was born on Oct. 5, 1924, in Blossom, Texas, the son of James and Nanny Thomas Beagles. He married Betty Taylor on July 7, 1944, in Inglewood, Calif. She survives.
Additional survivors include: a daughter, Judy (and husband, Charles) Bolton of Bowen, Ill.; five grandchildren, Tia (and Rich) Heppner of Geneseo, Ill., Eric Beagles of Norwalk, Ohio, Todd (and Jessica) Bolton of Bowen, Ill., Kyle Beagles of Hamilton and Alex (and Dawn) Beagles of Kenosha, Wis.; and five great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Beagles; a sister; and two brothers.
Mr. Beagles served in the United States Navy from 1941 to 1946.
He was a mechanic in Keokuk for many years. He also worked for the Hamilton Park District, serving as park superintendent.
He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching wrestling and bull riding.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lamporte Funeral Home of Hamilton, with the Rev. Tom Mehaffy officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery , Hamilton.
Visitation is today at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial has been established.
