Nellie Irene Saar

HAMILTON, Ill. - Nellie Irene Saar, 96, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at Montebello Nursing Home in Hamilton, Ill.
She was born on May 21, 1906, near West Point, Ill., the daughter of Richard A. and Annabell Wells Barnett. She married Wesley H. Burton on Jan. 24, 1924. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1969. They had a daughter, Wilma Belle Brunenn. She married Carmen L. Saar on Oct. 1, 1949, at the "Little Brown Church in the Vale." He preceded her in death in June of 1998.
Survivors include: a daughter, Wilma Belle Brunenn of Sunset Home, Quincy, Ill.; a sister, Jessie Maag; four grandchildren, Lanny (Kay) Brunenn, Denny (Elaine) Brunenn, Donna (Dan) Eisenbeiss and Jeffrey (Lisa) Brunenn; nine great-grandchildren, Tony, Terry and Tad Brunenn, Eric and Doug Smith, Jen Foster, Denise Buckner, Ryan and Lucas Brunenn; seven great-great-grandchildren, Casey, Brittany, Colten, Janelle, Logan, Eric and Andrew.
She also was preceded in death by a sister, Rissie Cook and twin brothers, Loyal and Royal Barnett.
She worked at the Warsaw Button Factory, Warsaw Dress Factory, Dadants in Hamilton and Irwin Phillips of Keokuk.
She was an avid dog lover.
Mrs. Saar was a member of the West Point Christian Church.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery , Warsaw, Ill., with Rev. Phoebe Blankenship officiating.
Dorothy Eileen Cunningham
March 30, 1924 - May 29, 2000
KAHOKA, Mo. - Dorothy Eileen Cunningham, 76, of Kahoka, Mo., died Monday, May 29, 2000, at Keokuk Area Hospital.
She was born on March 30, 1924, in Hamilton, Ill., the daughter of Carl and Neva Simpson Anderson. She married Thomas Cunningham on April 15, 1943, in Palmyra, Mo. He survives.
Additional survivors include: a daughter, Jeanette Turnbull of Kahoka; two sons, Ted Cunningham and his wife, Pat, of Muskegon, Mich., and Gerald Cunningham of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Sylvia Fry of Bedford, Texas; a brother, Robert Anderson of Spicewood, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Kahoka Cemetery
in Kahoka, with the Rev. Gary Payne officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka is in charge of arrangements.
Lucile D. McKenzie
March 19, 1915 - July 9, 2000
Lucile D. McKenzie, 85, of Keokuk, formerly of Williston, Vt., died on Sunday, July 9, 2000, in Keokuk.
She was born on March 19, 1915, in Essex Junction, Vt., the daughter of the late Arthur and Ellen Forbes Douglas. She was the wife of the late Raymond H. McKenzie. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Brior of Ellenburg Center, N.Y. and Gail Tyler of Keokuk; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
At her request a memorial service will be held at a later date in Essex Junction.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is in charge of local arrangements.
Kimberlie Renae Simpson
Feb. 15, 1987 - Sept. 29, 2000
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Kimberlie Renae Simpson, 13, of Columbia, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at the Boone Hospital Center.
She was born on Feb. 15, 1987, in Hutchinson, Kan., to David Simpson and Tammy Simpson Stiverson.
Survivors include: her parents, David and Jameda Simpson; her mother, Tammy Stiverson of Huntsville; her grandparents, John and Louise Hickey of Hamilton, Ill., JoAnn and Jimmie Wilkerson of Riverton and Donald and Annette Stiverson of Brooksville, Fla.; her brothers, David, Daniel and Michael Simpson, all of Columbia; and her sisters, Shawna and Amie Simpson of Columbia, and Melanie Ashford of Port Richey, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Kenneth Hoyt Simpson.
She was a seventh-grader at Lange Middle School and a member of Christian Chapel. She had also been home schooled for four years.
At Christian Chapel, she had recently earned her Honor Star award after four years in the Missionette program, a girls club based on Bible study. She was also a member of Friends Bible Study, a program for teenage girls.
Sine she was a little girl, she had sung in the children's choir at her church. One of her greatest dreams was to attend North Central Bible College in
Minnesota and become a professional Christian singer.
Miss Simpson was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Columbia.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Christian Chapel with the Revs. Gary Denbow, Tracy Cook and Kenneth R. Simpson (her uncle) officiating.
Her organs were donated and burial was Tuesday in Columbia Cemetery , Columbia.
A memorial service was Wednesday at Victory Christian Center in Hamilton, Ill.
Visitation was Monday at the Christian Chapel, 3300 S. Providence Road.

Hollis A. Kerr
Dec. 5, 1930 - April 16, 2001
FARMINGTON - Hollis A. Kerr, 70, of Farmington, died at 1:50 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2001, at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1930, in Chambersburg, Mo., the son of Forest and Beatrice Morrison Kerr. He married Iris Coffin on Sept. 3, 1950, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
Additional survivors include: a daughter, Becky Fry and her husband, Mike, of Farmington; three grandchildren, Angela Bell and her husband, Travis of West Point, Dustin Coleman of Farmington, Kerby Fry of Farmington; two brothers, Hillis Kerr and his wife, Joan and Stuart Kerr and his wife, Charlotte, all of Farmington; two sisters, Ila, Mrs. Pearl Woods of Lebanoni, Mo., and Patty, Mrs. Boyd Woods of Kahoka; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Smith of Farmington; and a brother-in-law, Charles Coffin of Donnellson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law; sister-in-law; and a nephew.
He graduated from Revere High School, Revere, Mo.
Mr. Kerr was a Farmington resident for 50 years.
He was an agent for Ayers Oil Company.
Mr. Kerr was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Farmington and the Farmington American Legion.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and raising cattle on his acreage.
Mr. Kerr was a member of the United Methodist Church, Farmington.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Farmington, with the Rev. Marlene and Richard Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Greenglade Cemetery , Farmington.
Visitation is after noon Wednesday with family meeting friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington.
Memorials may be made to the Farmington E.M.T.s or the Farmington United Methodist Church.
John H. Wilson, Jr.
Sept. 3, 1919 - June 14, 2001
GALESBURG, Ill. - John H. Wilson, Jr., 81, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 6:21 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2001, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1919, in Keokuk, the son of Dr. J. Hiram and Irene Willets Wilson. He married Miriam J. "Mimi" Harness on Sept. 29, 1944, in Iowa City. She survives.
Additional survivors include: a son, J. Mark Wilson and his wife, Marsha, of Galesburg; and a stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, J. Hiram Wilson III in 1989; a brother; and three sisters.
He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1938 and from Iowa State University in 1949.
Mr. Wilson was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran.
Mr. Wilson was assistant vice president and farm manager at the former First National Bank and Trust Company in Galesburg for 28 years. Mr. Wilson retired in 1985.
He was a member of Evening Lion's Club and Lake Bracken Country Club, both in Galesburg.
He had lived in Galesburg since 1957.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Galesburg.
Private family graveside memorial services of the cremated remains will be Monday, June 18, at Oakland Cemetery , Keokuk.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Evening Lion's Club.
