Stanley L. Nelson, 89, Webster City

Stanley L. Nelson, 89, of Webster City, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at Crestview Senior Living. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cass Township Cemetery with Pastor Gerald Caquelin officiating. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Stanley LaVerne Nelson, son of Severin and Hannah Schnath Nelson was born on December 20, 1916 at Britt, Iowa. He received his education from the Britt Schools. In 1931, he moved to Webster City. He was employed as a truck driver for Sessford Asphalt Company in LeGrand, Iowa until his retirement.

Stanley is survived by his sister-in-law, Helen Nelson of Webster City; niece Donna Stimson also of Webster City; and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Everett Nelson, and sister, Mildred Leopold.

Stanley was a member of the American legion Post #191 of Webster City.

Johnny Stoneking Jr., 48, Webster City

Johnny Stoneking Jr. 48, of Webster City, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Herman G. Schweertmann, 72, Webster City

Herman G. Schweertmann, 72, of Webster City, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Herman Glenn Schweertmann, son of Bouko and Tina Huesinga Schweertmann, was born on September 16, 1934 at Ackley. He received his education and graduated from Iowa Falls High School. On May 28, 1971, he married Amelia Messerly at Fort Dodge. He was employed for Martin Foods, Nissen Company and Boone River Creations until their closings, all in Webster City. He had most recently worked for Webster City Custom Meats for seven years until retiring on January 13, 2003.

In addition to his wife, Amelia, he is survived by his step son Elvin (Sherry) Johnson of Webster City; step grandsons, Bobby, Brian, and Brady Johnson all of Webster City; brothers and sisters, Edward Schweertmann of Alden, Joan Wheeler of Iowa Falls, and Judy Myers of Iowa Falls; brothers-in-law, Richard (Pearl) McCormick of Callendar, James (Joyce) Messerly, and Wilbert (Nancy) Messerly all of Fort Dodge; sisters-in-law,

Mary (Elvin Sr.) Johnson of Longville, MN., and Cynthia and (Lloyd Sr.) Timm of Webster City.

He enjoyed camping, fishing, and visting with family.

August E. Henke, 83, St. Charles, Missouri

August E. Hemke, 83, formerly of Webster City, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006 at the St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO. Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Baue Chapel of St. Charles, with interment at the St. Paul Churchyard, St. Louis MO.

August E. Henke,was born Sept. 20, 1923 in Kimmswick, MO. He proudly served in the Army Corps during WWII. He was founder of Air Flite Flying Service and was active in general aviation. He was the Director of Aviation for Anheuser Busch until his retirement in 1985. In retirement he enjoyed many years of boating on the Mississippi and was an active member of the Duck Club Yacht Club of St. Charles County.

August is survived by his wife Frances Henke, his sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Judy Henke, James and Darlene Henke, all of Wildwood, MO., John and Donna Rae Henke of St. Charles, MO., daughters and sons-in-law Carol and Paul Craig, Wildwood, MO., Elizabeth and John Campbell of of Lake St. Louis, MO., Ashley and Mike Toalson of Bismark, MO., and Jean Henke of Osage Beach, MO., sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Henry Hartman of Oakville, MO., fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by four brothers, Carl, Wyman, Floyd and Oscar Henke.

Memorials may be sent to Baue Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wings of Hope.

Betty Severson, 95, Jewell

Betty Severson, 85, a longtime Jewell resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, Wis.. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to service time at the church. Becker Funeral Home in Jewell is entrusted with arrangements.

Shirley K. Robinson, 70, Webster City

Shirley K. Robinson, 70, of Webster City, died Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Stanhope Parish Church with Rev. Suzie Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center, Webster City.

Shirley Kay Hill, daughter of Cecil Mason and Flo Workman Hill was born on April 7, 1936 at Stanhope. She graduated from Stanhope High School in 1953. She attended and graduated from Webster City Junior College with her teaching certificate. On August 3, 1958, she married Chester W. Robinson at Stanhope. She was a teacher for over 14 years in the Webster City, Waterloo, Barnum, and Fort Dodge Community School Districts. During her teaching career, she also attended Drake University furthering her education. Following her teaching career, she accepted a position as secretary to the Superintendent of Fort Dodge Public Schools. Shirley most recently was employed as executive assistant to the Director of Admissions at Friendship Haven until her retirement in 1995.

In addition to her husband, Chester, she is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Kristine and Danny Waugh of Jewell, Kathy Clay of Fort Dodge; grandchildren, Allison and Abigail Clay of Fort Dodge, Emily Waugh of Jewell; brother and sister-in-law, William M. and Mary Hill of Stanhope; sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret and Dale Hanson of Stanhope, and Virginia Welch of Omaha, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Cecil Lorene Henderson, Harriett Norris and brothers, Richard A. Hill, Robert E. Hill.

Shirley was a member of the Stanhope Parish Church, Ladies of the Moose in Webster City, Fort Dodge Civic Glee Club, Red Hat Ladies, and served for a three year term on the Fort Dodge Community School Board. She also shared her vocal talent for many church related activities, including as a soloist at funerals.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.

Marjorie L. Erickson, 91, Florida

Marjorie Lucille Erickson, 91 of Naples, Florida died October 26, 2006 at Frances Georgeson Hospice in Naples, Florida.

Marjorie was born in Fonda, Iowa, July 9, 1915 to Maude and Charles Chase. She graduated from Ames High School. She was married to Irving “Red” Erickson July 26, 1934 in Lehigh, Iowa. They moved to Nevada, Iowa, from Ames, Iowa, in 1940. Marjorie lived in Nevada from 1940 to May, 1999, when she moved to Naples, Florida

In 1961, Marjorie and Red started the Erickson Furniture and Appliance Store in Nevada where they continued to do business until 1988. During some of that time, she also worked at the Reuben H. Donnelly Corporation where she was Personnel Director at the time she retired.

Marjorie was the first Welcome Wagon Hostess in Nevada, a member of the Indian Creek Country Club, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Memorial Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughter Kaye (and David) Gardner of Naples, Florida; a son, Scott (and Suzanne) Erickson of Winthrop, Massachusetts; two grandsons, Todd Myers of Naples, Florida, and Eric Myers of Webster City, Iowa; a granddaughter, Summer Erickson of Winthrop, Massachusetts; and five great grandchildren, Matthew and Marissa Myers of Naples, Florida; and Hannah, Olivia and Boone Myers of Webster City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband Irving “Red” Erickson in 1987, her son Wendell Erickson in 1980 and her two brothers, Donald Chase of Fernald, Iowa, and Harold Chase of Ames, Iowa.

Memorial Services were held at the Memorial Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 AM.

Janice L. Crim, 69, Webster City

Janice L. Crim, 69, Webster City, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Pete Peterson and Rev. Ryan Christensen officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Janice Lucille Sinclair, daughter of Richard and Mary V. Elsberry Sinclair, was born on July 11, 1937 at Boone. She received her education and graduated through the Boone Iowa school system.

On May 18, 1958, she married Alton Edgar Crim at the Boone Methodist Church at Boone. She worked for ELectrolux for over 31 years, retiring in 1998.

In addition to her husband, Alton, she is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Corey and Carol Crim of Papillion, Neb., and Colin and Rhonda Crim of Boone; daughter and son-in-law, Marnia and Edward Crawford of Webster City; grandchildren, Amanda, 21, Kayla, 15, Sarah, 14, Cassidy, 10, Ashley, 8, and a brother, Robert Sinclair of Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather.

Mrs. Crim enjoyed bingo, ceramics, sewing, and bowling. She was very artistic and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Leona R. Antimuro, 90, Webster City

Leona R. Antimuro, 90, Webster City, died Sunday at Hamilton Hospital. Private graveside services will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Fr. Scott Boone to officiate. There will be no visitation. She is survived by her husband Salvatore “Torry” of Webster City; one son, Anthony of Iowa City, and a daughter, Josephine Croy of Orange County, Calif.

Randy Hansen, 58, Tipton

Randy J. Hansen, 58, Tipton, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral services will be Wed., Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Foursquare Gospel Church of Tipton. A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers.

Randy J. Hansen was born April 10, 1948 in Los Angeles, Calif., the son of Carl Johan Hansen and Opal Roasau Kerr. He graduated from Inglewood, Calif. High School in 1966. He married Lydia Marie Soop on Sept. 3, 1971 at Webster City. He was an inspector for HWH of Moscow, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia; mother, Opal Kerr; daughter Shelly (Jason) MacDonald, grandsons Keith and Jake MacDonald, all of Tipton; half-brother, Terry Brenner of Temecula, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Hansen, step-father, LeRoy Kerr, and twin grandsons, Keith and Kevin.

Esther Reimer, 88, Calif.

Funeral services for Esther Reimer age 88 of Rancho Mirage, California will be held 1:30 PM Friday at the First Mennonite Church at Beatrice, Nebraska. Burial will be in the First Mennonite Cemetery . Visitation will begin 12 PM Thursday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM. Esther passed away at Eisenhower Hospital in Rancho Mirage on Sunday.

Esther L. Reimer was born on May 30, 1918 at Beatrice, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Irvin and Emma (Eby) Faulder. She graduated from Beatrice High School. On August 10, 1936 she married Donald Reimer at Beatrice, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in 1984. They resided in Columbus, Central City, Blair, Nebraska, Webster City, Iowa and lived in Rancho Mirage, California since 1984.

She was a member of the PEO, Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church; Desert Island Country Club, and was past president of the Ladies' Golf Group.

Esther is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lucas, Marietta, California, Son Donald Reimer Broomfield, Colorado, 6 granddaughters, and 5 great grandchildren.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rhonda A. Casky, 53, Webster City

Rhonda A. Casky, 53, of Webster City, died November 6, 2006 at her home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Ed Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery . Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center is serving the family.

Rhonda Ann Hoversten, daughter of Melvin and Iona Luppes Hoversten was born on November 4, 1953 at Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her education from the Webster City Schools and graduated from Anchorage Alaska High School in 1971. On July 28, 1989, she married Richard Lynn Casky at Webster City. The couple resided in Webster City. Mrs. Casky was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Amy Stadlbauer of Hillsboro, OR.; daughter and son-in-law, Kasey and Brett Walker of Ankeny; grandson Dalton Stadlbauer of Eugene, OR.; father, Melvin and stepmother, Claudia Hoversten of Eagle River, Alaska; mother, Iona Hoversten of Webster City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandy and Johnny Belarde of Woodenville, WA., Deb and Don Siders of Webster City, Brenda Paris of Seattle, WA.; stepsister, Tasha and husband, Barry Jeffers of Avon, IN.; and stepbrother, Hal Hoversten of Eagle River, AK.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her grandparents.

She attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City.

Thomas Isebrands, 36, Jewell

Thomas (Tom) Jon Isebrands of Jewell, Iowa passed away on November 5, 2006, from injuries sustained in an auto accident near York, Nebraska. He was 36 years old. Born in Ames, Iowa on April 20, 1970, Tom was the youngest son of Floyd and Shirley (Erickson) Isebrands of Jewell. Tom was a 1989 graduate of South Hamilton High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV).

After graduating college, Tom returned to Jewell to join the family business. A brief time after returning, Tom met and married the love of his life, Amanda Renee Holm, of Story City, on December 30, 2000. Amanda is the oldest daughter of Brian and Debra (Finley) Holm of Story City, IA. Tom and Amanda made their home on an acreage south of Jewell. In January of 2004, the couple was blessed with the births of their twins, daughter Jana Ann and son Tyler Jon.

An avid outdoorsman, Tom loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Pheasants Forever, White Tail Deer, Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. He became active in the community and was a member of the Jewell Fire & Rescue Department. Most importantly he was a loving husband, proud father, and a valued friend to many.

Tom is survived by his wife Amanda, daughter Jana, and son Tyler, parents Floyd and Shirley, and brother Mark, his wife Gina and daughters Katie and Molly. Tom will also be remembered by Amanda's parents Brian and Debra Holm, brother Adam, sister Kelly and husband Scott Schmitz and their children Reagan and Brett.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2006 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell. Visitation is Thursday evening from 6: to 8 p.m. at the Jewell Fire Station.
