MOLINE -- Services for Joanne J. "Nannie" Schillinger, Moline, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary Ltd., 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Schillinger died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. She was a caregiver to many members of Calvary Faith Climber Church and a member of The Gospel Climbers singing group. Joanne Johnson was born June 24, 1938, in Prophetstown, Ill. She married Richard Frank in 1950. She later married Harold Schillinger in Peoria, Ill. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include her husband, Harold; a son, Tom, Moline; a sister, Marilyn Battles, Barstow, Ill.; and a brother, Robert Johnson, Moline.

Laura Puckett

MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Laura L. Puckett, Maquoketa, formerly of East Moline, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, after an extended illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Maquoketa. Burial will be later in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery , Bellevue. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Mrs. Puckett was a homemaker. Laura Ehrler was born April 17, 1955, in Bellevue. She married Steven Yarolem in 1976. She married Danny Puckett in 1983 in Nashua. Survivors include daughters, Stacy Yarolem, Lost Nation, and Stephanie Yarolem, Maquoketa; a son, Lucas Puckett, East Moline; stepsons, Danny Puckett Jr., Camanche, Chad and Jamie Puckett, both of East Moline, and Jason Puckett, Garland, Texas; a grandson; her mother, Betty Baxter, Maquoketa; and sisters, Sue Hansen and Tami Trentz, both of Maquoketa, and Tina Benischek, Dubuque. She was preceded in death April 28, 2001, by a brother, Mike "Arky" Ehrler.

Pauline Libberton

FULTON, Ill. -- Services for Pauline M. Libberton, of Bettendorf Healthcare Center, formerly of Davenport and Argo Fay, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulton, preceded by a family prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Homes Ltd., Fulton. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery , Fulton. Visitation is 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Libberton died Monday, July 30, 2001, at the center. She was employed as an office manager at Guy's Fuel Oil Co., Clinton, Iowa. Pauline Gerten was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Fulton. She married Guy Libberton in 1934 in Fulton. He died in 1993. Memorials may be made to Masses or Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Survivors include daughters, Helen House and Ardell Couchman, both of Davenport, and Barbara Johns, Thornton, Colo.; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-great-grandchildren.

Craig Cutkomp

COLUMBUS JCT., Iowa -- Services for Craig Cutkomp, Columbus Junction, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present 6-8 p.m. Mr. Cutkomp died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Colonial Manor Care Center, Columbus Junction. He farmed in the Columbus Junction area and worked 15 years at Rath Packing Co. He was born May 25, 1935, in Columbus City. He married Nancy Wolf in 1962 in Des Moines. Memorials may be made to Colonial Manor Care Center and Columbus City Free Methodist Church. Survivors include daughters, Kimberly Hafner, Columbus Junction, Deborah Hahn, Cedar Rapids, and Jennifer Kuenster, Coralville; four grandchildren; his mother, Velma Cutkomp, Columbus City; a sister, Florence Johnson, Plainfield, Ill.; and brothers, Roger, Columbus Junction, and Ronald, Columbus City.

Violet Rhoades

CLINTON, Iowa -- Violet M. Rhoades, Clinton, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery , Clinton. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Rhoades was employed doing clerical work at A.C. Nielsen Co. She retired in 1977. Violet Pelham was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Clinton. She married George Rhoades in 1944 in Clinton. He died in 1987. Memorials may be made to Clinton Humane Society. Survivors include sons, James, Fulton, Ill., and George, Milan, Ill.; three grandchildren; and brothers, Lyle and Clarence Pelham, both of Clinton.

Verle Grady

MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Services for Verle F. Grady, Muscatine, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Nichols Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory, Muscatine. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery , Muscatine. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Grady died Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home. He retired in 1970 as a switch crew foreman for the Rock Island Railroad. He was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Muscatine. He married Patricia Krider in 1950 at Muscatine. During World War II, he served in the Navy. Memorials may be made to the Verle Grady Memorial Fund. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; daughters, Kathy Willits and Susan Bramble, both of Muscatine, and Linda Danner, Illinois City; sons, Cole and Kyle, both of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Rita Giese and Nina Montagna, both of Muscatine.

Evelyn Heuer

CALAMUS, Iowa -- Services for Evelyn A. Heuer, Calamus, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery , Calamus. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Heuer died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa. She was employed 24 years as a secretary at Calamus school. She was born Aug. 11, 1914, in rural Gering, Neb. She married Paul Heuer in 1936 in Calamus. He died in 1970. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Kintzel, Clarence; sons, Paul "Gene," Calamus, and Charles, Lead Hill, Ark.; four grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.

Alta Bachman

CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Alta A. Bachman, will be 3 p.m. Friday at Nelson Heesch Funeral Homes, Clinton Chapel. Visitation is 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery . Alta died Saturday, July 28, 2001 at Tomball Regional Hospital, Tomball, Texas. Alta was employed many years as a personal director at Safer Foundation. She was born Sept. 23, 1926 in Husum, Germany, to Lorenz and Marie (Andresen) Hansen. Alta grew up in eastern Iowa. As a young adult, Alta lived in Texas and Florida. She retired in Bonita Springs, Fla. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Johnnie Gamboa Jr.; a son, Douglas Dickson; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anne Mae Krejci, and her husband, Frank; a niece, Darcie Hansen; and a nephew, Steve Hansen, and his wife, Kathy.

John Hartford

FARLEY, Iowa -- Services for John M. Hartford, of 820 Ash Drive, Colona, Ill., formerly of Farley, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley. The Rev. Dennis Cain will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery , with military services by Farley American Legion Post 656. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, with a wake service at 4 p.m. John died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by a son and (spouse), Jeff and (Lisa) Hartford, Bettendorf; a daughter, Kathy Stoyke, Lafayette, Ind.; grandchildren, Paige, Tyler and Dylan; his mother, Lou Hartford, Farley; brothers and spouses, Michael R. and (Jayne) Hartford, Dubuque, and Timothy R. and (Sue) Hartford, Wonewoc, Wis.; sisters and (spouses), Sharon A. and (Milo) Mueller, Dubuque, and Debby and (Jerry) Jasper, Farley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father, Robert Hartford; and a nephew, Gary Hartford. A memorial fund for John has been established for the Genesis West Cancer Center in Davenport in lieu of flowers. The family of John would like to thank Dr. Kevoch and the staff of Genesis West Cancer Center for all the wonderful care given to John.

Teresa Adrion

ALEDO, Ill. -- Teresa E. Adrion, Aledo, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery , Viola. Visitation is 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the church, with a rosary at 8:30 p.m. Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Adrion was employed as the tuberculosis nurse for the Mercer County Tuberculosis Sanitarium Board for 22 years. She retired in 1966. In early years, she was employed five years as a public health nurse in Lemmon, S.D. Teresa Sullivan was born Feb. 22, 1903, in Grand Junction, Iowa. She married Charles Adrion in 1942 in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Catherine's Catholic Church or Food for the Poor Inc. Survivors include her husband, Charles; and a sister, Florence Connery, Menasha, Wis.

Fred Capion

ELVIRA, Iowa -- Services for Fred W. Capion, Elvira, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Elvira Cemetery . Visitation is 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. today at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Mr. Capion died Monday, July 30, 2001, at his home. He owned and operated Capion's General Store and Tavern in Elvira from 1948 to 1977. After that, he worked at Swanson's Propane, formerly Christansen LP Gas Service, in Clinton. He retired in 1993. He was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Clinton. He married Shirley Goodell in 1958 in Elvira. During World War II, he served in the Army as a rifleman with the 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Division. He was captured and held in Germany as a prisoner of war for seven months. He received the European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Prisoner of War Medal. Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice Care or Elvira Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; and a daughter, Ann Capion, Moline.
