Clayton Myers, age 94, of Sac City, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, at United Methodist Church in Newell with Rev. David Schumann officiating. Burial will be at Newell Cemetery under the direction of Farber & Otteman Funeral Home.
Warren Corderman
Warren Russell “Pill” Corderman, age 87, of Newell, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007 at his home in Newell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Newell with Rev. Michael Harman officiating. Burial will be at Newell Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 193 of Newell. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Newell is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis Johnson
Dennis Johnson, 80, of Storm Lake, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, after a long illness.
Funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Alta, with Pastor D. Duane Olson officiating. Burial was at Plainview Cemetery, Alta, with flag presentation by the V.F.W. Post #6172 of Alta. Barker Funeral Home of Alta was in charge of arrangements.
James Babb
James “Jim” Orville Babb, born
to James Joshua and Virginia (Dotson) Babb in Tarkio, Mo., on Oct. 22, 1917, passed away Sept. 1, 2007 in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the age of 89.
Jim served in the US Army 1944-1947. On Sept. 5, 1948 he married
Bernice Rix. During their marriage he was engaged in farming.
John McGowan
John J. McGown, age 96, of Storm Lake, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. McGowan was held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Lawler celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Fonda. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Clara Martin
Clara L. Martin, age 89, of Storm Lake, died on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Faith United Assembly of God in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery. The Sliefert Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Helen Benson, age 89, of Storm Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 12 in Storm Lake.

Harry Steinfeld
Harry S. Steinfeld, a longtime resident of Tenafly (Bergen County), N.J., died on Dec. 3, 2007 at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. He was 95 years old.
Visitation, a family memorial service, and a reception will be held on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the home of Peter and Julie Steinfeld, 110 West Lakeshore Dr., in Storm Lake. Burial will be in Storm Lake Cemetery. Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Lt. Norman Roggow
Lt. JG Norman L. Roggow, 26-year-old Naval aviator, who was killed in action on Oct. 8, 1967 in Vietnam, was recovered and repatriated to the United States and his family for burial in Iowa.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars with Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Inurnment was in Memorial Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Navy and Wasmer American Legion Post #241 of Le Mars. Carlsen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Lowell Hills
Funeral services for Lowell Hills, 85, of Aurelia were Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Aurelia with Pastor Harold Werley officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by Grashoff-McManus American Legion Post #390 of Aurelia and the Alta VFW. Arrangements by Redig Funeral Home.
Lowell DeVere Hills was born
Jan. 14, 1922, the son of George and Blanche (Kesler) Hills in Storm Lake. He attended schools in Newell, Sioux Rapids, and graduated from Alta in 1942. In September 1942 Lowell was inducted into the United States Army, honorably discharged in October 1945 at the rank of corporal. On July 26, 1942 Lowell married
Bernadine Marie Mullins in Sioux Rapids. To this union three children were born: Mary Lou, L. Dean and Tim Hills.
Linus McKenna
Linus P. McKenna, age 79, of Storm Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Albert City, Iowa.

Dorothy Koehler
Dorothy Lucile Koehler, 80, of Iowa City, died at Windmill Manor in Coralville on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 after a short battle with cancer. Dorothy was born
Feb. 20, 1927 in Newell, the daughter of Harry H. Zimmerman and Vera Fay (Hungate) Zimmerman.
Visitation will be held at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City from 11 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, with funeral services at noon. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City.
Memorials may be made to University of Iowa Foundation Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center or Johnson County Animal Shelter.
Rozella Bruns
Funeral services for Rozella Bruns, 78, of Alta, will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at United Methodist Church in Alta. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake. Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.

Marjorie Ford
Marjorie V. Ford, 90, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 at Sterling Presbyterian Manor in Sterling, Kan.
She was born
Sept. 24, 1917 at Pomeroy, the daughter of Ben and Judith Johnson Torrell. She graduated from Palmer High School and business college in Chillicothe, Mo. A resident of Sterling since March 1998, formerly of Wheaton, Ill., she was a school secretary, pastor’s wife, and homemaker.
