Emma Irene Stevens

Emma Irene Stevens, 77, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday,
Nov. 16, 1994, at her home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 19, at the
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit
Roisen of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the
Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Emma Irene Stevens was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Forest
City, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Cunningham and Lottie (nee) Klassen
Cunningham.

She attended and received her education in the Mason City School
system.

On Oct. 31, 1934, she was united in marriage to Everett Enabnit.
He preceded her in death in July of 1965. She was united
in marriage to Lyle Stevens on Jan. 2, 1966, in South Dakota,
he preceded her in death in February 1966.

For 16 years she was a police dispatcher for the Clear
Lake Police Department until her retirement in 1982. She enjoyed
crafts, embroidering, canning, gardening, flowers and was also
very active in community and civic organizations including the
Clear Lake VFW Ladies Auxiliary, charter member of the Eagles,
American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, AmVets, Royal Neighbors, Grandmothers
Club and the Rebecca Lodge, all in Clear Lake, and was also a
member of the Women of the Moose Lodge Chapter in Fort Dodge.
But her great love and enjoyment was her family and grandchildren.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clear
Lake.

She is survived by two sons, Richard A. Enabnit and
his wife, Patricia, Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Everett H. Enabnit,
Jr., and his wife, Kathy, Riverside, Calif.; one daughter,
Izetta Fisher, Mason City, Iowa; two sisters, Dixie Parriera and her
husband, Manuell, Chino, Calif., Laura Brackey, Arizona; one
brother, Charles Cunningham, Mason City; 12 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; and
many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands,
Everett Enabnit and Lyle Stevens; an infant son; two grandchildren;
four brothers; and three sisters.

Leona L. Hill

Leona L. Hill, 73, of Mason City, Iowa, died Wednesday,
Nov. 16, 1994, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus,
Mason City.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 10, at Bethlehem
Lutheran Church Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus, Mason
City.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 19, at Bethlehem
Lutheran Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Frederick J. Wood
officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason
City.

Mrs. Hill was born March 27, 1921, at Princeton, Minn.,
the daughter of Henry Luker and Lena Froehlich Luker. The family
moved to Clear Lake when Leona was young and she graduated from
Clear Lake High School in 1942. She married Roger I. Hill on
Feb. 10, 1046, in Mason City. She was an active member of Bethlehem
Lutheran Church and a loving mother and grandmother. She was
also a member of C.C.I.C.

She is survived by her husband, Roger I. Hill, Mason
City; one daughter, Kathleen A. Prew, Pacific Grove, Calif; three
sons, Russell R. Hill, Mason City, Dennis R. Hill and wife,
Margie Z., Des Moines, and Gregory A. Hill and wife, Susan, Clear
Lake; four brothers, Fred Luker and wife, Judy, Clear Lake,
Adolph Luker of Mason City, Arnold Luker and wife, Ethel, Mason City,
and Gilbert of Mason City, Iowa....
...Lydia, Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Angela Hill and Audrey
Hill, both of Clear Lake, Caleb Hill, Mason City, Daniel Hill,
Des Moines, and Nicholas Prew of Pacific Grove, Calif.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 17, at the
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. ....

Lena Neel

Lena Neel, 99, Clear Lake, formerly of Charles City,
Iowa, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 1994, at Oakwood Care Center, Clear
Lake, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 11
a.m., at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt Street, Charles
City, with the Rev. Dennis D. Niezwaag, senior pastor, St. John
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, officiating. Burial
will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Mrs. Neel, the former Lena Christianson, was born Feb.
20, 1895, in Randall, Iowa, the daughter of John Jens Christianson
and Sene Rasmussen Christiansen. On July 6, 1916 she married
John Harlan (Jack) Neel, in Minneapolis, Minn. The couple made their
home in Minneapolis before moving to Charles City in the late teens,
where Mr. Neel made a career in law enforcement. Mr. Neel died
Dec. 6, 1940, in Charles City. Mrs. Neel returned to Randall
to make her home with her brother. She moved to Clear Lake in
1954 to make her home with her daughter. She entered Eastwood Care
Center in 1988.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters,

She is survived by five grandchildren, Elwood Zipse,
Jr., of Nora Springs, Iowa, Carol (Connie) Menken of Greene,
Iowa, Joan (Jodie) Loomer and Catherine Frampton, both of Iowa
City, Iowa, and Willi Carney of Clear Lake; seven great-grandchildren;
and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two
daughters, Minerva Zipse and Florence Majewski.

Helga C. Christensen

Miss Helga C. Christensen, 91, of Pompano Beach, Fla.,
died Monday, Nov. 21, 1994, in Pompano Beach.

Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 28, at the
Clear Lake Cemetery with the Rev. Murley Severtson officiating.

Helga was born June 9, 1903 in Breijning, Denmark, the
daughter of Fredrick Christensen and Rebecca Hansen Christensen.

She was a resident of Pompano Beach since 1968, formerly
of Chicago, Ill., where she was a retired art teacher. She resided
all of her life with her sister Martha Christensen, who preceded
her in death in February of 1994.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters
Mrs. Carl (Elna) Christensen and Martha Christensen, 91, of
Pompano Beach, Fla.

Suzanne Louise Legge

Suzanne Louise Legge, 59, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Garner,
died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1994, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 3, at Cedar
Valley Community Church in Cedar Falls. Burial was Sunday, Dec.
4 at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. A memorial service
was held Dec. 4 at the Evangelical Free Church in Clear Lake
with the Rev. Larry Yeoman officiating.

Suzanne Louise Legge, daughter of Paul W. Kuns and
Sylvia (nee) Hall Kuns was born July 3, 1935 in Forest City. She
graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1953 and received her
teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in 1954. On Aug.
3, 1956, she was married to James Oliver Legge at Forest City.
They farmed southwest of Garner until her husbands death in 1980.

She received her B.A. Degree in 1974 and her Masters
Degree in 1991, both from the University of Northern Iowa in
Cedar Falls. She had taught school in Scarville from 1954-56
and at the Kanawha Christian School from 1969-84. She also taught
school at Cedar Valley Community Church School and was a Guidance
Counselor at Edison, Jewett and Lincoln Elementary Schools in
Waterloo. She had been Singles Director and was active at Cedar
Valley Community Church in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by her children, Terry Legge and his
wife, Sue, of Grimes, Michael Legge and his wife, Monica, of
Garner, Robert Legge and his wife, Ruth, of Garner and Lisa Legge
of Minneapolis, Minn.; nine grandchildren; her mother, Sylvia
Kuns, Clear lake; two sisters, Lois West of St. Paul, Minn.,
and Elaine Kuns of Clear Lake; two brothers, David Kuns of Des
Moines and Stuart Kuns and his wife, Judy, of Ventura; and a
special friend, Jim Collins, Lakeside, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Legge;
a grandson, Matthew M. Legge; and her father, Paul Kuns.

Lena E. Powers

Lena E. Powers, 67, of Mason City, Iowa, died Wednesday,
Nov. 30, 1994, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus,
Mason City.

She was cremated. Private memorial services were held
at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev.
James E. Hayes of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, officiating.

Lena was born in King County Brooklyn, New York, on
March 23, 1927, the daughter of Michael Esposito and
Gabriella (nee) Santori Esposito. She grew up in the Brooklyn area,
and Grand Rapids, Mich. area, and enjoyed her last 30 years living
in Kailua, Hawaii. Due to ill health she moved to Mason City to
live closer to her daughter.

She is survived by a daughter, Helena Albers and her
husband, Steve, Clear Lake; one son Edward Powers and his wife,
Liz, Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother Joseph Esposito, Long Island,
New York; three sisters Emma Borriello, Nancy Gentile and her
husband, Paul, all of Brooklyn, New York, and Grace Conti and
her husband, Frank, Cresco, Penn.; five grandchildren, Daniel
Powers, Michelle Powers, Jack Meggers, Theresa Meggers and Autumn
Meggers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons
Harold Powers and David Powers; two brothers Ralph Esposito
and John Esposito; and one sister Mary Colella.
