Shaun G. Septer

Shaun G. Septer, 16, of Hills, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec.
6, 1994, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa
City, following an automobile accident.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 10, at the
St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills. The Rev. Roy Nilsen officiated.
Burial was in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Hills.

The George L. Gay Hills Chapel was in charge of the
services. Memorials may be made to the Hills Fire Department
and First Responder or Hills Ball Association.

Shaun was born May 5, 1978 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son
of David Septer and Kathleen (nee) Dyre Septer.

He was a student at West High School, Iowa City. He
was involved with baseball, Saturday Jr. Bowling League at Colonial
Lane and had been a participant representing the Hills Fire Department
in the Water Ball Fights.

Survivors include his parents, Kathy and Dave Septer;
a sister, Tanya Septer, all of Hills; grandparents,
Eileen and H.G. Septer of Ottumwa, Colleen and Jim Dyre,
Clear Lake; great-grandparents, Viva and Beatrice Dyre,
Louise Caldwell, all of Mason City.

Charlotte Janet Hamblin

Charlotte Janet Hamblin, 86, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday,
Dec. 7, 1994, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 9, at the Evangelical
Free Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dave VanWingerden and
the Rev. Larry Yeoman officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake
Cemetery.

Charlotte Janet Hamblin was born Nov. 7, 1908, in Fertile,
Iowa, the daughter of Halvor Stevens and Lena (nee) Halvorson
Stevens.

She attended and received her education in the Fertile School System
graduating from Fertile High School in 1925. She also attended
Cedar Falls Teachers College. She was united in marriage to
Glenn Hamblin on March 19, 1930, in Mason City. He preceded
her in death in 1980. In 1954, they moved to a farm near Joice,
farming there until 1957 when they moved to a farm southeast of
Ventura where they continued to farm until her husbands death,
moving to Clear lake in 1980, where she lived with her daughter.

She also was a nurses aide at Mercy Hospital for a short time.
Charlotte had been a resident of the Good Shepherd Care Center since 1992.
She enjoyed volunteer work at the Opportunity Village, formerly
Handicap Village, in Clear Lake, gardening, but her great love
and enjoyment was her church and helping out any way she could.

Charlotte was a member of the Evangelical Free Church
in Clear Lake and the Clear Lake Police Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Dyer of Clear
Lake; several

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death
by her parents; one granddaughter, Faith Maranatha Dyer; four
sisters; and two brothers.

Organist Sally Frampton accompanied Pastor Larry and
in his name to Hospice of North Iowa.

Pallbearers were Don Neuberger, Bill Kennedy, David
Rosendahl, Dean Heimdal and Dorance Rosendahl.

John A. Brandt, Sr.

John A. Brandt, Sr., Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Dec.
7, 1994, at the Good Shepherd Care Center, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 10, at the
St. Patricks Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with the Msgr. Joseph
J. Slepicka officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery,
Clear Lake. A Scriptural Wake service was held Friday, Dec. 9,
at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home, Clear Lake.

John was born Feb. 4, 1915 in Wesley, Iowa, the son
of Gustav and Ella Brandt.

On Nov. 28, 1937 he was united in marriage to
Opal M. Thompson, of Kensett, Iowa, at the St. Patricks Catholic Church,
Clear Lake. They farmed south of Clear Lake until the early forties
when they moved into Clear Lake. He worked for Clear Lake Auction
until his retirement in 1979.

He is survived by his son, John Brandt, and his wife,
Suzanne, Clear Lake; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Brandt, and
his wife, Deanette, Riverton, Wyo., Scott Brandt and his wife,
Sue, Clear Lake, and Robin Ulve and her husband, Michael, Clear
Lake; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Brandt, Amber and Bayley
Ulve; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Henderson, Mason City, Iowa,
Katheryn Fluhrer and her husband, Verle, Manly, Iowa,
Mary Lou Hannafan and her husband, A.J., Clinton, Iowa; one brother,
Gus Brandt, Mason City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one
brother, Louis Brandt; one sister, Verna Mae Beeler; and one
grandchild, Thomas John Brandt.

Donald Gabrielson

Mr. Donald Gabrielson, 79, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday,
Dec. 7, 1994, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East Campus,
Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held held Saturday, Dec. 10,
at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Murley Severtson
officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear
Lake.

The family suggests memorials in his name.

Donald Gabrielson was born March 13, 1915 in Webster
City, Iowa, the son of Martin Gabrielson and Florence (nee) Eddy
Gabrielson.

He graduated from Ellsworth High School, Ellsworth, Iowa, in
1934.

On Jan. 16, 1938 he was united in marriage to Arlie Heng.
They farmed at Radcliff, Iowa, and Mason City, and moved
to Clear Lake in 1970.

Mr. Gabrielson served as past trustee, parish council
and president of Lutheran Brotherhood of Zion Lutheran Church.
He was past director of rural school, member of Clear Lake I.O.O.F.
Lodge and Rotary.

He is survived by his wife, Arlie Gabrielson of Clear
Lake; a daughter Jo Lake, Treasure Island, Florida; one son,
David Gabrielson, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Glenn Gabrielson,
Algona, Iowa, and Gerald Gabrielson, Forest Lake, Minn.; three
sisters Gaynell Clark, Ames, Iowa, Florence Zimmerline, Greenfield,
Iowa, and Dorothy Anderson, Starbuck, Minn.; five grandchildren
Kimberly Smith, Eldora, Iowa; Timothy Yocum, Story City, Iowa,
Paul Gabrielson, Las Vegas, Nev., Janeice Cummings and
Jodie Chute, both of Auroa, Colo.; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley,
Aaron, Rebekah, Kristina, Rachael and Lauren Smith, Eldora, Iowa;
Shay Cummings, Colorado Springs, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother
John Gabrielson.

Pallbearers were Duane Schlichting, Bud Luick, Earl
Berghefer, Lloyd Jasperson, Willard Henderson, Dean Moffett.

Arthur Carlson

Arthur Carlson, 75, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Dec.
11, 1994, at the Muse-Norris Hospice In-Patient Unit in Mason
City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, at
the nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.

Arthur Carlson was born Oct. 27, 1917, in Hamilton County,
near Stanhope, Iowa, the son of Carl Carlson and
Anna (nee) Anderson Carlson.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served from
November 1942 to December 1943 in the European Theater as a member
of the 363rd Infantry. After the service, he worked and farmed
most of his life.

In 1974, he moved to Clear Lake and was employed by
Keiths Sanitation for six years.

He is survived by one sister, Edith Overturf, Rock Falls,
Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters,
Anna (Mrs. Carl) Peterson, Agnes (Mrs. Carl) McFarland,
Hilda (Mrs. Andrew) Olson, Gertrude (Mrs. Sam) Anderson,
Meta (Mrs. Clarence) Raner, Ollie (Mrs. Wilbur) Smith and
H Alice Malm; three brothers, Leonard Carlson, Carl Carlson
and Oscar Carlson.

...Foster Funeral Home in Webster City, Iowa. Burial will be
in the Lawnhill Cemetery, Stanhope, Iowa, with Military Honors.

Marjory Lois Nyhus

Marjory Lois Nyhus, 77, of Davenport, Iowa, formerly
of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, in Davenport at
the Kahl Home For the Aged and Infirm.

There will be no visitation, the body was cremated.
Memorial graveside services and inurnment will be held later
in the spring of 1995 at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake.

Memorials in memory of Marjory Nyhus may be sent to
the Kahl Home, 1101 West 9th Street, Davenport, Iowa 52804.

Marjory Lois Neal was born May 3, 1917, in Indianapolis,
Ind. She was the daughter of Henry E. Pedersen and Alvena L. Pedersen
Neal. She married Kenneth M. Nyhus June 12, 1935, in Mason City,
Iowa. He preceded her in death in January of 1981.

She had been employed as a clerk/cashier at both Jimmys
Locker and Easters Food store, and later worked as a waitress
at Halfords Restaurant and the Ritz Restaurant. She was a member
of the Clear Lake Methodist Church, Senior Citizens Club, and
The Grandmothers Club. She enjoyed bowling and especially enjoyed
children as she provided babysitting and day-care for many families
in the Clear Lake area.

Survivors include two daughters, Maxine Harris and her
husband, Richard, of Ogden, Iowa, Mary Ellen Lorenz and her husband,
Gary, of Moline, Ill.; one son, Allan Nyhus, Cedar Falls, Iowa;
nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters,
Patricia Bledsoe and her husband, John, Clear Lake, and Janet
Schroeder and her husband, Melvin, Seymour, Mo.; and many nieces
and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband;
two sisters, Margaret and Elizabeth; and a great-granddaughter,
Lyndsae, in infancy.
