Interment: inurnment will be at a later date at Victor Memorial Cemetery

Lynn was born on January 30, 1960, in Marengo, Iowa to Herb and Wilma Burke Neuhaus.

He was raised in Victor and graduated from HLV High School with the Class of 1978.

Lynn participated in the school choir, band and musicals.

He was also involved with Boy Scouts.

He lived in Victor and was employed by Magna Companies in Victor, Williamsburg and Montezuma.

Lynn was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed.

He was a passionate auto racing fan and enjoyed attending the races and watching the races on television.

He also enjoyed photography and feeding the birds in his yard.

He is survived by his siblings, Larry (Teri) Neuhaus of Hartwick, Lyle (Barb) Neuhaus of Victor, Linda (Mike) Light of Des Moines; nieces and nephews, Michele Light, Matt (Laurel) Light and John Light, Niki (Josh) Hakes, Carrie Neuhaus and Ryan Neuhaus; two great nephews, Marcus Light and Benjamin Hakes; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Patricia Diehm Mauskemo
April 27, 1947 - February 12, 2012
St. Charles, Minnesota and formerly of Tama, Iowa

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 15, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, Iowa

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday February 16, 2012 at Meskwaki Friends Center near Tama, Iowa

Interment: following the funeral service. February 16, 2012 at Maple Hill Cemetery near Montour, Iowa

Patricia was born on April 27, 1947, in Grinnell, Iowa to Bert and Georgia Belcher Diehm.

She was raised in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School.

Following her education she worked at General Telephone Company of the Midwest in Grinnell.

On March 9, 1974, she was married to Marvel Mauskemo in Grinnell.

The couple lived in various communities in southeastern Minnesota and settled in St. Charles.

She was a homemaker and mother but also worked in the food service of the St. Charles School System and as a certified nurse’s assistant at the Golden Living Center in St. Charles.

The couple moved to Tama, IA after their retirement but later relocated back to Saint Charles to be near their children.

She enjoyed nature on the Meskwaki Settlement and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Marvel Mauskema of St. Charles, MN; two daughters, Melinda A. Mauskemo of Los Angeles, CA and Christine L. Mauskemo of North Hollywood, CA; two sons, Michael L. Mauskemo of St. Charles, MN and Bruce (Jessi) W. Mauskemo of Rochester, MN; one step daughter, Robin (Chet) Dickey of Mitchellville, IA; eight grandchildren, Damien, Brandon, Greyson, Emmalynn, Kiana, Cole, Dylan and Sydney; and her siblings, Betty O’Halloran of Malcom, IA, Clara (Rocky) Duntz of Des Moines, IA, Linda Diehm of Newton, IA, Carol (Harvel) Rogers of Springfield, MO, Joe (Dori) Diehm of Newton, IA, Diane (Kenneth) Mortenson of Keota, IA, Debra (Rick) Howard of New Sharon, IA and Dan (Sheila) Diehm of Grinnell, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bertie and Jacob Diehm; and one granddaughter, Caitlin Noel Mauskemo.

Memorials may be directed to the Patricia Mauskemo Memorial Fund and sent in care of Bruce Mauskemo, 2815 Tomah Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901.

Wilma G. Lincoln
September 14, 1916 - February 10, 2012
Grinnell, Iowa

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 Friday evening February 17, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home, Grinnell

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday February 18, 2012 at First Friends Church, Grinnell

Interment: following funeral service February 18, 2012 at Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell

Wilma Ryan Lincoln, 95 of Grinnell, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, February 10, 2012, at the Mayflower Community Health Care Center in Grinnell.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, at the First Friends Church in Grinnell with Rev. Todd Follette, pastor of First Friends Church, and Rev.’s Keith Briggs and Howard Lord, both retired, officiating.

Pianist will be Kathleen McCune.

Pallbearers will be Russell, Larry, Dan and Mitch Lincoln, Bob Betts, and Andrew and Asher Heuss.

Honorary bearers will be Lincoln Larson, Jake and Ethan Cline, Cole Jacobson, Cameron Foster, Bryant Crowe, Ed Rainous and Jeff Clark.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 Friday evening at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Quakerdale youth home.

Wilma was born to Jay and Cora Metz Ryan on September 14, 1916, in Chelsea, Iowa.

She graduated from Grinnell High School in 1934.

After attending Cedar Falls State Teachers College during the summer of 1935, she taught country school in the Grinnell area for two years before marrying Warren Lincoln on June 19, 1937.

After their wedding, she farmed with her husband on the Lincoln family farm located south of Grinnell until they moved to Grinnell in 1973.

She, along with Warren, was an active member of Farm Bureau, served in various roles at Oak Grove Church, and in later years, enjoyed attending meetings of the Blue Point Club.

After their retirement, she and Warren spent winters in Brownsville, Texas where they enjoyed dancing, shelling on the beach and trips into Mexico with their many dear friends.

She was an avid reader, a beautiful seamstress, and a wonderful cook.

She also enjoyed traveling, doing handwork, spending time with her family and friends, listening to her family sing, and working in her large flower and vegetable gardens until close to the age of 90.

She was a faithful wife and mother, and a gracious friend to everyone she met.

Her family will remember her unapologetic way of looking you right in the eye and saying, “I love you!”

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Lincoln, her infant daughter, Larita Beth; her parents, Jay and Cora Ryan; and her siblings, Harry Ryan, Warren Ryan, Wayne Ryan, Alta Ryan Buck and Marjorie Ryan Halstead.

She is survived by four children, Sharlene (William) Betts of St. Petersburg, Florida, Donald (Harriet) Lincoln of Larksburg, Colorado; Greg (Gloria) Lincoln of Grinnell and Rita (Timothy) Heuss of Johnston; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Shirley Lemke
May 19, 1930 - February 14, 2012
Grinnell, Iowa

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell

Visitation: 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell

Memorials may be given in her memory to Alzheimer’s Association or to the Mayflower Community South Village, sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

The family would like to give a huge thank you to the nursing staff and all of those wonderful people at the South Village of the Mayflower Community as they cared for Shirley the past year and a half.

Shirley Ogan Lemke was born to Ralph Ogan, Sr. and Alma Eash Ogan in Marshalltown, Iowa on May 19, 1930.

She attended Marshalltown schools, rural Poweshiek County schools, and Montezuma schools respectively.

Shirley was united in marriage to Ralph Lemke on June 29, 1947 in Montezuma, Iowa.

They resided in Montezuma and the Grinnell area and Shirley worked at the Grinnell Hospital in the kitchen and linen departments and she then worked at DeLong’s Sportswear.

Ralph’s retirement moved them to Oskaloosa for 15 years and they had since settled back in Grinnell.

Together Ralph and Shirley gave birth to 10 children, 4 preceded her in death at young ages with cystic fibrosis, one given to adoption and their 5 living children, Phillip (Cathy) Lemke of Newton, David (Linda) Lemke of Newton, Rose Long of Grinnell, Melody (Mark) Bennett of Marshalltown and Lyle (Mary) Lemke of Hiawatha.

She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Additional survivors include brother Ronnie (Virginia) Ogan of Osceola, Lois Ogan of Grinnell, and Hazel Freeborn of Grinnell, Calvin Lemke of Winchester, West Virginia and Marvin (Maxine) Lemke of Rolla, Missouri.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; four children; and her brother, Ralph Ogan, Jr.

Helen was born on April 12, 1944 in Newton, Iowa to Cecil and Alice Marshall Ringgenberg.

She was raised in Newton and graduated from Newton High School with the class of 1962.

She was united in marriage to Wesley Meyer on December 23, 1982 in Grinnell, Iowa.

They lived in Grinnell and Helen worked at General Telephone Company.

Helen was a member of the Grinnell Eagles Club. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones fan.

Her enjoyments were tending to her garden, bowling with her friends at the Grinnell Bowladrome, and watching birds perch and feed on the many outside feeders she had at her home.

Helen is survived by her two sons, Michael Gilbert and Wayne Meyer of Grinnell; two grandchildren, Dillon and Brittni Gilbert of Marengo, Iowa; her mother, Alice Ringgenberg of Newton, Iowa; and her siblings, Marilyn (Rod) Frederickson of Vancouver, Washington, Patricia Ringgenberg of Las Vegas, Nevada, George Ringgenberg of Des Moines, Iowa, and David Ringgenberg of Newton, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her father; her husband; and her son, Mark Gilbert.

Fern Millgate Beitner
September 06, 1925 - February 09, 2012
Orlando, Florida, formerly of Grinnell and Coralville, Iowa

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 05, 2012 at New Song Episcopal Church, Coralville, Iowa

Interment: 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 05, 2012 at Bethel Cemetery, north of Lynnville, Iowa

Fern Millgate Beitner, 86, of Orlando, Florida, and formerly from Grinnell and Coralville, Iowa, died Thursday, February 9, 2012 surrounded by her children.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m. at the New Song Episcopal Church in Coralville, Iowa.

Graveside services will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Grinnell in the afternoon.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Humane Society or PALS (Poweshiek County Animal League Shelter).

Fern was born September 6, 1925, in Grinnell to Vern B. and Opal Hay Millgate.

A 1942 graduate of Grinnell High School, Fern subsequently attended Broadlawns Nursing School in Des Moines and graduated in 1946.

Fern married Charles R. Beitner in June 1946 and followed him to Hoboken, New Jersey, where, from 1946 to 1949, she set up and managed the Stevens Institute of Technology infirmary while Charles attended engineering school.

Following Charles’ graduation from engineering school in 1949, the couple moved to Kew Garden Hills, Flushing, New York.

In 1955, Fern and Charles moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where Charles accepted a position with CTS Corporation.

The couple moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 1960 and lived there until their divorce in 1981.

She moved back to Grinnell to be close to her parents.

She moved to Iowa City in 1985 and launched a new career as a house director to a number of fraternities and sororities, including Chi Omega, until she retired in 2002.

She very much enjoyed being around young people during this time. In May 2011, Fern moved to Orlando, Florida, to be close to her daughter, Heidi.

While nursing was Fern’s profession, art was her passion.

Throughout her life, she explored a broad variety of media ranging from painting, illustration and cartooning, to fine jewelry-making, dress designing and ceramics.

For many years, she taught children’s art classes and marionette-making, which culminated in an annual children’s puppet show.

Fern is survived by her cousin, Marilyn Peery of Grinnell, her son, Jay, of Pittsburgh, and her daughter, Heidi, who will miss her beyond words.

October 18, 1918 - February 25, 2004

Survivors include two children, Carole Johnson of Kingwood, Texas and Gerald Johnson and his wife, Debbie of Trophy Club, Texas; two grandchildren, Aaron Johnson of Grinnell and Carrie Sharer and her husband, Bryan of Trophy Club; and two great-grandchildren, Sloane Johnson of Grinnell and Raegan Sharer of Trophy Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and two sisters.
