Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in the Forest cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Wednesday and the family will be at the funeral chapel 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday to greet friends and relatives.

SEPT. 19, 1923 — APRIL 17, 2006
OSKALOOSA — Eunice Y. Grubb, 82, of Oskaloosa, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. As was her request, the body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Dr. Dennis E. Morey officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Forest cemetery , Oskaloosa. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice or the First Presbyterian Church.

DONALD GENE CHILDERS
FEB. 17, 1937 — APRIL 17, 2006
DES MOINES — Donald Gene Childers, 69, of Des Moines, and formerly of Oskaloosa, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Iowa Lutheran Medical Center in Des Moines of a massive heart attack. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the First Assembly of God Church in Des Moines with the Rev. John Palmer officiating. Graveside services and burial will be in the Forest cemetery at Oskaloosa 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will be in Oskaloosa at the Bates Funeral Chapel from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday; and later in Des Moines at Hamilton’s Funeral Home on Lyon Street after 4 p.m., and the family will be at Hamilton’s 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday to greet friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Des Moines First Assembly of God Church missions fund or to the Oskaloosa First Church of the Nazarene building fund.

WILLARD E. MILLER
OSKALOOSA — Willard E. Miller, 79, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, April 14, 2006, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa. Graveside services and burial was held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the Forest cemetery . Arrangements were by the Bates Funeral Chapel.

SEARSBORO — Henrietta Louise McGinn, 76, of Searsboro, died Tuesday morning, April 18, 2006, at her home of cancer. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma with burial to follow in the Searsboro cemetery in Searsboro. Visitation will begin after noon Thursday with the family present Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Grinnell Regional Hospice.

MAY 13, 1909 — APRIL 18, 2006
BEACON — Jeanette Louise Hagan, 96, of Beacon, died at home Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Medical Center. No services are planned. Robertson - Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

MARCH 3, 1956 — APRIL 19, 2006
OTTUMWA — Connie L. Bates, 50, of Sheridan, died April 19, 2006, at home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday. Family visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Memorials may be made to the family.

Robert G. Bob Krusemark

FREMONT — Robert G. Bob Krusemark, 60, of Fremont, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 1, at the Fremont Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Julie Wehner and the Rev. Bob Dean officiating. Burial will follow at the Cedar Township Memorial cemetery in Fremont. Visitation begins at noon on Sunday at the Fremont Funeral Chapel with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Fremont United Methodist Church or the Fremont Ambulance Service.

OSKALOOSA — Jerry Dean “Tubby” Fleener, 67, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at his home in Oskaloosa. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in the Forest cemetery . Graveside Military Rites will be given by members of the Mahaska County veteran’s organizations. Visitation will begin Thursday after 2 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Jerry “Tubby” Fleener Memorial Fund.

KESWICK — John Raymond White, 64, of Keswick, died Saturday, June 17, 2006, at his home. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Keswick. Interment will follow at the Sixteen cemetery near Thornburg where the Barnes City and Keswick American Legions will give honors. Visiting hours will begin after 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Harden Funeral Home in What Cheer; with the family greeting friends from 4 to 8 p.m. and a rosary service at 7 p.m. A memorial has been established in his name.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Lois Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Bluff Creek cemetery , southwest of Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin at the funeral chapel on Tuesday after 10 a.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice.

OSKALOOSA — Ray O. Stout, 83, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Michael Crouch officiating. Burial will be in the Forest cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice of the First Christian Church.

OSKALOOSA — Randy Padgett, 54, and Ouida Padgett, 52, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday night, July 1, 2006, at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa.

CARRIE JOSEPHINE LESTER
JUNE 19, 1918 — JUNE 30, 2006
KNOXVILLE — Carrie Josephine Lester, 88 and 11 days, passed away on June 30, 2006, at the Park Lane Village in Knoxville. A Celebration of Life was held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 2, at Park Lane Village in Knoxville with the Rev. Bob Morris officiating. Interment was in the Bellefountaine cemetery near Tracy. Musical selections were provided by Ruth Jones. Memorials may be made in memory of Carrie to the Knoxville Public Library.

RANDY PADGETT, OUIDA PADGETT
OSKALOOSA — Randy Padgett, 54, and Ouida Padgett, 52, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday night, July 1, 2006, at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 5, at 3:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel, Oskaloosa, with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in the Forest cemetery with graveside military rites given by members of Oskaloosa veterans organizations. Visitation will begin Tuesday after 1 p.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter or to the American Cancer Society.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Garland - Van Arkel - Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in Henness cemetery with Military Honors by the Harry L. Anderson Post No. 34 of the American Legion and the V.F.W. Post No. 2237. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday; the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice.

MONTEZUMA — Charles “Beanie” Morrison, 76, of Montezuma, passed away Aug. 18, 2006, at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. Funeral services for Charles “Beanie” Morrison will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma. Friends of Charles “Beanie” Morrison may call at the Watts Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be designated in Charles’ name to the Montezuma Ambulance fund and left at Watts Funeral Home.

EDDYVILLE — Darwin Alan Aalsburg, 55, of Eddyville, passed away at his home with his wife in Eddyville.
