Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the Open Bible Church in Pella. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella and the family will be present at that time to greet friends and family. Memorials may be made to Carroll V. Elscott Memorial Fund, Pella Hospice Comfort House and Open Bible Church in Pella.

GEORGE H. De WIT, JR.
AUG. 1, 1942 — OCT. 12, 2006
LEIGHTON — George H. De Wit, Jr., 64, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. Visitation was after 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella with the family present at that time. Memorials may be made to the George H. De Wit, Jr. Memorial Fund.

MILDRED E. SPROUSE
SEPT. 15, 1915 — OCT. 12, 2006
OSKALOOSA — Mildred E. Sprouse, 91, passed away Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma. Lyle Peterson, Mildred’s nephew, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Viola cemetery in Viola, Ill., at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, at the Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma. The family will be present between 5 and 7 p.m. Memorials may be designated in Mildred’s name and left at the Watts Funeral Home.

DALE LAMB
DELTA — Dale Lamb, 75, of rural Delta, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at the VA Medical Center in Knoxville.
Dale has been cremated. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, at the McFarlan cemetery near What Cheer with American Legion James Murphy Post No. 319 of Keswick giving honors. Interment will follow. A memorial has been established in his name.

LOUISE RILEY
MARCH 15, 1933 — OCT. 12, 2006
OSKALOOSA — (Emma) Louise Riley, 73, of Oskaloosa, passed away Thursday night, Oct. 12, 2006, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Gil Visser officiating. Burial will follow in the Leando cemetery at Douds. Visitation will begin Sunday after 11 a.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. A memorial has been established in her name.

LINDA JOYCE DENNEY
JAN. 14, 1946 — OCT. 3, 2006
OSKALOOSA — Linda Joyce Denney, 60, of Oskaloosa, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.
As was Linda’s wish, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at 10 a.m. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Wymore cemetery , east of Oskaloosa. The family will be at the funeral chapel Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until service time to greet friends and family. Memorials may be made to the Linda Denney Memorial Fund.

BARBARA A. WILSON
PELLA — Barbara A. Wilson, 63, of Pella and formerly of Mandan, N.D., passed away Tuesday morning, Oct. 10, 2006, at the Pella Regional Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 14, at Mandan, N.D.

DR. WILLIAM G. WING
PELLA — Dr. William G. Wing, 97, of Pella, passed away Wednesday morning at Jefferson Place in Pella. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 16, at Second Reformed Church in Pella. Private interment will be made at Graceland cemetery . Memorials may be made for the Second Reformed Church.

EDDYVILLE — Grace Adelaide Allison, 84, of Lebanon, Tenn., and formerly of Eddyville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Eddyville Christian Church in Eddyville with the Rev. Dennis Durst officiating. Burial will follow services at Westview cemetery in Kirkville. Visitation began at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel in Eddyville. The family was present from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. A memorial has been established to Eddyville Christian Church. Eddyville Funeral Chapel in Eddyville is in charge of the arrangements.

RODNEY J. ONGNA
PELLA - Rodney J. Ongna (pronounced Awh g na), 64, of Knoxville, passed away as a result of injuries received in a single car accident late Tuesday afternoon in Knoxville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville. Interment will be made in the Oakwood cemetery at Pella. Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Friday at Van Dyk - Duven Funeral Home in Pella. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville. The family prefers memorials be given to the building fund of the Celebrate Community Church in Knoxville.

PELLA — Glenn A. Koopman, 89, of Pella, passed away Thursday afternoon at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services are pending at Van Dyk - Duven Funeral Home in Pella.

NEW SHARON — Hugh Ralph Naffziger, 94, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, in Laguna Niguel, Calif., where he resided.
A vigil will be held Monday, Jan. 15, at 7 to 9 p.m. at O’Connor Mortuary, Laguna Hills, Calif. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel, Calif.

OSKALOOSA — (Cora) Katherine “Katie” Mattix, 83, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Michael Crouch officiating. Burial will be in the Forest cemetery at Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin at the funeral chapel on Monday after 11 a.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or to Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa.

OSKALOOSA — Reta C. Allgood, 87, of Oskaloosa, passed away at Pleasant Park Estates Nursing Home on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, at Garland - Van Arkel - Langkamp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Forest cemetery . Visitation will begin at noon, Thursday, at Garland - Van Arkel - Langkamp Funeral Chapel; the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday to greet friends and relatives. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Mahaska County Post No. 21 in memory of Reta and Bill Allgood.

NEW SHARON — Roxie L. Ruby, 61, of rural New Sharon, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. David Pinkerton officiating. Burial will be in the Forest cemetery in Oskaloosa. Graveside military rites will be given by members of the Oskaloosa American Legion, VFW, and D.A.V. Visitation will begin at the funeral chapel on Tuesday after 10 a.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Roxie Ruby Memorial Fund.

JOHN S. ENSZ
JUNE 9, 1949 — JAN. 13, 2007
OSKALOOSA — John S. Ensz, 57, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.
In accordance with his wishes, John has been cremated. A memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at the College Avenue Friends Church with the Rev. Tom Palmer officiating.
