Imogene Lattig

Dec. 10, 1924 - July 25, 2003

Rock Springs - Imogene Lattig, 78, formerly of Payette, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at her daughter's home in Rock Springs. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at the First Baptist Church, Payette. The Rev. David Lawson is officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.

Imogene was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Matthews, Mo. the daughter of James William and Ona Ann Collins Carmody. She attended school at Sikeston Grade School and Sikeston High School graduating with the class of 1943. She married Robert Max Lattig June 27, 1943, in Eagle Pass, Texas. She had been employed as a graduation clerk at Idaho State University and Boise State University for 20 years, retiring in 1987.

Imogene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Payette. Her interests include homemaking, sewing, cooking, and her children.

She is Survived by one son, Dr. Gary M. Lattig and wife, Linda, Modesto, Calif; one daughter, Andra Bragg and husband, Terry, Rock Springs, Wyo.; one brother, Charles Carmody, St. Louis, Mo.; five grandchildren, Annette Bragg, Rock Springs, Wyo. with whom she lived with the past three years, Kelli Barett Bragg and husband, David, Salt Lake City, Captain Aaron Lattig U.S. Air Force and wife, Sherra, Valdesta, Ga., David Lattig and wife, Janae, Modesto, Calif. and Mathew Lattig, Modesto, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; several brothers and sisters; one daughter, at birth, Kelli Beth.

In lieu of flowers, the family of Imogene Lattig request that donations be made to Community Nursing Services, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.

Jeane Marie Odell

June 15, 1923 - Nov. 1, 2004

Boise - Jeane M. Odell, 81, Boise, died Nov. 1, 2004, after a sudden illness. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., today, Nov. 5, at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 Fairview Ave., Boise. The Rev. Greg Reider of Ustick Baptist officiated. A viewing for family and friends was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Dry Creek Cemetery.

Jeane was born in Grandview, Iowa, to Vern and Muriel McCulley. She graduated from Muscatine (Iowa) High School in 1941. She married L.A. "Andy" Odell in January 1945. Jeane, Andy, and their five daughters moved to Boise in 1968.

In addition to raising her family, Jeane enjoyed working as a church secretary at Calvary Baptist Church in Muscatine, Iowa and Fellowship Baptist Church in Boise. She also volunteered more than 20 years at the Boise Rescue Mission and was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary for many years.

At the time of her death, Jeane was a member of Ustick Baptist Church in Boise. An avid reader, Jeane enjoyed assisting in the church library.

Jeane is survived by her sister, Mrs. DeWayne (Betty) Schmitt, Muscatine, Iowa; and five daughters, Linda Odell, Boise, Nancy (John) McKeeth, San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Jeanette Odell, Boise, Ellen (Sam) Hardiman, Boise; and Becky (Doug) Grosenbach, Colorado Springs, Colo; her pride and joy were her 11 grandchildren, Luke, Nathan, Hannah, and Andrew McKeeth, Nichole Odell, Amy (Steve) Shidal, Noelle and Angela Hardiman, Abby, Kate, and Eric Grosenbach.

Jeane was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Boise Rescue Mission, 520 Front Street, Boise, ID 83702 or CAM International- Help for Pastors/Honduras, 8625 La Prada Drive, Dallas, TX 75228.

Kimi Naito

Aug. 10, 1905 - Dec. 13, 2004

Nampa - Kimi Naito, 99, Nampa, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. S. The Rev. Greg Gibbs of the Oregon Buddhist Temple in Portland will officiate. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, and from 9 a.m., to noon Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel.

Kimi Naito was born Aug. 10, 1905, in Hilo, Hawaii where she was reared and attended school. She later moved to California and was married to Hyakuichi Naito in 1924. In 1943 they moved to Nampa and farmed with their sons in the Franklin District until moving to the Dry Lake Area in 1957. Mr. Naito preceded her in death in 1976. Kimi loved being around people and working outdoors. She was a member of the Buddhist Church.

Kimi is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Hiroshi Naito and Mitts and Joyce Naito, all of Nampa; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Kimi was preceded in death by three brothers.

The family suggest memorials be made to a favorite charity.

Maria Mercedes Rodriguez Barrera

Feb. 8, 1921 - April 14, 2003

Nampa - Maria Mercedes Rodriguez Barrera, 82, Nampa, formerly of Ontario, died Monday, April 14, 2003, in a Nampa hospital. Rosary will be held Monday, April 21, 2003, at 7 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Ontario.
Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Ontario. Father Raymond Jarboe will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery, Ontario.
Services under the direction of the Yraguen Chapel, Nampa.

Maria was born Feb. 8, 1921, in Charcas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Juan Rodriguez and Concepcion Valenciano Rodriguez.
In 1948, she moved to Texas where she married Placido Martinez.
Maria and Placido, along with their children, were migrant farm workers for many years until they settled in Ontario where Maria went to work for Ore-Ida until her retirement. She later married Raymundo Barrera and soon after his death moved to Nampa where she lived her remaining years.
Maria loved spending time with her family and she had a great sense of humor even until the very end.

She is survived by four sons, Daniel (Gloria) Martinez, Pendleton, Placido Martinez Jr., Ontario, Wally (Roberta) Martinez, Milton-Freewater, and Froy Martinez, Nampa; five daughters, Maria (Jim) Duncan, Grants Pass, Frances Martinez, Ontario, Magdalena (Pete) Barrientos, Houston, Texas, Connie (Epimenio) Lerma, Ontario, and Natalie Martinez, Ontario; two brothers, Lupe V. (Teresa) Rodriguez, Mexico, and Juan V. (Lucero) Rodgriguez, Mexico; 31 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children and three grandchildren.

The family would like to give thanks to the Mercy Medical Center Staff for the loving care provided to Maria.

Alice Hazel Babcock Mitchell

Jan. 25, 1913 - Feb. 6, 2004

Payette - Alice Hazel Babcock Mitchell, 91, Payette, passed away, Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at home of natural causes.
All are invited to Alice's funeral at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Payette, situated at 502 Iowa Avenue.
A public viewing will precede the services at 12:45.
Burial will be immediately after in the Vale City Cemetery.

Alice grew up in Vernal, Utah, she spent her married years on a farm in Vale, and widowed years in Payette, close to her children.
She had recently moved to a beautiful home provided to her by her son in Draper, Utah.

Alice loved life, especially her family and children.

Alice is survived by three sons, Theron, Gary and Eldon; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; three siblings, Melpha Healy, Erma Toleman and Dean Babcock, all of whom will miss her dearly, and remember her with love.

Alice is reunited with her father, Daniel Babcock; her mother, Hannah Lublin-Babcock; her daughter, Wanda Wilder, and two grandchildren; seven siblings and generations of grandparents.

Velma Francys Forsythe

Oct. 25, 1921 - March 28, 2004

Payette - Velma Francys Forsythe, 82, Payette, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004, at home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the First Baptist Church, Payette.
The Rev. David Lawson is officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Memorial Gardens, Payette.
A viewing will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., today, April 2, 2004, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2004, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.

Velma was born Oct. 25, 1921, to Rothwell Mayfield and Gertrude Edna (Sneed) Sparkman in Fort Gibson, Okla. She graduated from Pritchet, Oklahoma High School in 1939. After graduating, Velma moved to Boise. She married W.E. "Dutch" Forsythe Jan. 10, 1942, in Boise. After Dutch returned from World War II they moved to the Washington D.C. area, where their daughter, Jean was born. In 1953, they moved to Payette where their son, Jack was born.

She worked as a secretary for 15 years at Payette High School, then for 12 years as a receptionist at American Fine Foods, retiring in 1986.

Velma was an Honorary Deaconess at Payette First Baptist Church.
She was very active in bowling and attending the Seniors Center and was an avid gardener.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Velma is survived by her son, Jack Forsythe, Payette; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret and Bill Galey, Lake Havasu, Ariz., Kathleen Johns, Bristow, Okla. and Doris Emery, Mead, Wash.; a brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Peggy Sparkman, Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. "Dutch" Forsythe and a daughter, F. Jean Cooper.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or the Payette Senior Center, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette, ID 83661.
