Ruth LaRue

Ruth Ann LaRue, 73, Chubbuck, passed away, Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

My Wish for Family and Dear Friends: Continue life with appreciation, validation and love; always look for "sunshine" and glimmers of happiness.

God stands ready to provide strength and blessings!

My love to all of you...Ruth Ann.

Lois Ingelstrom

Mom passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family.

Born in Kemmerer, Wyoming-mom grew up in Soda Springs and graduated from high school there before heading to what is now ISU.

She attended ISU one year before taking work at the Union Pacific Timekeepers Office.

Besides working with her sister Barbara, mom also met Joyce Ingelstrom who introduced her to her handsome Marine brother Jack.

Destiny was set in motion.

Mom and Dad were wed in Pocatello on June 8, 1946, honeymooned in Portland, via the Union Pacific, and returned to Pocatello.

They resided here in their first house for all their 62 years together.

While dad worked for the U.P.R.R. - mom stayed at home and took loving and meticulous care of her four young children.

She loved-almost-every minute of it.

As we grew older mom took a job as librarian at Lewis and Clark Elementary.

She loved the job and the kids.

Children were drawn to mom with her beautiful smile and gentle voice.

From there she went to Tendoy Elementary School as a secretary/librarian and later retired from the school district.

Mom always had former students approaching her to touch base.

Involved in education, mom and dad were PTA presidents at Lewis and Clark and always encouraged us to “go on”.

Mom was also a member of the Eastern Star and belonged to a neighborhood bridge club.

She was preceded in death by husband Jack, brother Vernon Barry and sister Barbara Driskoll.

She is survived by her children: Susan Burgin (Rick), Cathy Smith (Larry), Judy Hadley (Dennis C. Gratzer) and John B. Ingelstrom (Beth Hunt); 12 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren with 1 on the way.

We are deeply grateful to Quality Home Care for treating mom with love and dignity for the last few years.

Mom was very fond of them.

We’d especially like to thank Michelle, Peggy, Mary, Kita and others on their staff.

We couldn’t have gotten through this without them.

Also, we need to thank Heritage Home Health Hospice for the invaluable services they provided.

Mom and Dad were deeply in love and it emanated to all who knew them.

While near polar opposites-they achieved a balance in their relationship that happens quite rarely. We’ll miss them greatly.

Mom and Dad will be interred together on a later date in a private family gathering.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542.
